The only himalayan to be run in to manufacturers 1200 mile schedule! 99% struggle to get to 300 miles before letting her rip, so dont worry about 70mph, just enjoy the power! Those engjnes are indestructible.
I also faithfully "ran in" my Hemi...now have almost 4000 miles on it (2023). It is noticeably smoother at higher revs now, much of the roughness is gone. Just finished a 300 mile in and around Hot Springs NC ride, about 90% dirt. I am new to adventure riding at the age of 72, but I am enjoying the Hemi. Will I go bigger, more capable (whatever that means) bike? Maybe, but for now the Hemi is great
Just remember if looking to "go bigger" more cc and power generally means more weight, which is the opposite of what you want if you mainly ride trails. If you mainly ride on roads it might be a good option. Good luck with whatever you decide. Your trip sounds amazing!
LOL, by good fortune I found you just finishing the run-in period and started laughing at your excitement and could almost imagine the grin on your face now that you're able to open that throttle and really experience that bike you've been babying for 1200 miles. I just finished running-in my Meteor and the grin on my face hasn't left. Take care and be safe.
I changed my oil and filter at about same milage. ( i had 500km service at dealer) , next service is at 8 k km but i will do another oil and filter change plus check tappets at about 4k km.
Happy days! Did you install the folding mirrors yourself or are they standard? I have a classic 350 dark black and I'm thinking of getting some folding mirrors.
The mirrors I brought had 4 or 5 different screw sizes included that you could attach to them so might be worth keeping a look out for some that do the same 🙂

Potentially the only Himalayan rider mad enough to 😂. It was definitely worth the wait 🙂

What coincidental timing! Wishing you many safe miles of riding on your Meteor!
Welcome to the 'plus 60mph club' 😉

Mime's going in for its first annual service in a few weeks. When she's out of the warranty period the plan is to self service
Happy days!

I installed them myself Simon. Less than £20 off of Amazon if I remember correctly. Really can't go wrong for the price
@@TheHimalayanDiaries Thanx for that cheers. I'll give Amazon a look. I'm assuming that the screw size is a standard or if not it'll say.
