Thanks for sharing, especially with the weather, one takeaway was to have boots with good tread when doing muddy lanes, I'll remember that one, so moving bike or logs with more effectiveness.
Thanks for the update and review on the tyres. Taking the rubbers off the pegs is so easy and definitely worth doing. Ah, the joys of green laning alone... Glad you got it unstuck 😅
I feel your pain stuck on those logs.😂 Dam heavy old lumps these Himmys 😂 I thought you where about to get a proper soaking at one point, when the bike over balanced. All good fun. 👍 Enjoyable video
I think you'll get in well with tyres. I put Mitas Enduro Trails on mine, from the standards. A world of difference off road and still very good on the back lanes where I do the majority ofvmy riding
Well done for the update. Many riders wouldn't venture out in such conditions, let alone off road! Great save with the 'stuck in the mud' section. I really thought it was going over. I watched the BMW display rider (at Bike Live) walking round her 1300 BMW, and balance it without issue. Its easier said than done! As for revving the nuts in neutral: I thought you were actually rocking the bike to create a less aggressive channel in the mud... again, I appreciate your honesty 😂. Until next year, stay safe, stay upright. P.S. I was born in West Walton, so not far from your stomping ground 🫣
In retrospect, it was an off road jaunt that would probably have been best avoided! Haha. In all honesty, I'm not sure how I held it- I thought me and the bike were going in the puddle! Not far away at all! Where are you based now?
@TheHimalayanDiaries I live about 5 miles south of Middlesbrough (Marton-in-Cleveland). 3 of my sons and family still live in Norfolk (close to Norwich), so I'm regularly treading the black stuff for visits etc.
Great vid, you did well to get it going again. I just had this bike back for the 4th time. Bigger more expensive bikes between and I just keep coming back to this beast. For the money and what you get still in my humble opinion the best adv available. What upgrades if any have you done?, I’m running completely stock for now.
Like you say, for the money, I think they're tough to beat! So far, crash bars, heated grips, a taller screen, stronger handlebars + I've added a small pack to the luggage carrier. There's videos about all of them on the channel if you want a browse, although I may make a video about all of them together at some point 🙂
I'll never say never, but for me they're not really on my radar at the moment. I use the bike mainly on back roads and for green laning, so I don't necessarily feel as though I need any more power. If you're planning on doing some more long distance touring I think there's probably more of a conversation to be had
@ I’m not sure as I’ve had mine on faster roads and it’s perfectly fine at 65. In the uk if you go 71 you’re getting points essentially so what’s the point. Just my opinion but there seems to be spore vans and traps everywhere these days
I agree, no point in speeding, you just end up paying the price one way or another. I think the main reason people do the performance mods is to get up to legal speeds that little but quicker and to give them a little more overtaking capability, but if you ride more leisurely you're probably better off saving your money and sticking with what you've got

Thanks for watching 🙂. Big mistake there! It definitely didn't make my life easy

Thanks for stopping by! Me too! I was worried that I wouldn't at one point!

They're fine when they're in motion, but when they're stationary they're certainly no enduro bike weight wise (I need to remember that) haha.

I'm looking forward to getting some more miles on them. I'm glad the Mitas are treating you well 🙂
@TheHimalayanDiaries .
Yes. I
My front is holding up well, but my rear is very warn now. Just bought a replacement this week.

@ what do you think of performance upgrades?

Where did you get your mirrors please? Look so much better than the OEM ones
I just found them on Amazon. Only about £15 from memory
