  • Church Live Stream Audio Setup is one of the most important things you can set up on your audio console. Getting this one wrong and you will find low and inconsistent volume on your online stream. In this video I show you how to set up a live stream audio mix with a pair of Mixbusses on the Behringer X32.

    Drew, your videos are a Godsend. Our church audio person convinced us to buy an M32 and then left for a different church several weeks after setting it up. As the worship pastor, I’m trying to learn this beast of a mixer. Your videos have given me hope!

    Drew, thanks so much for this video. I was having an awful time adjusting audio levels for the live stream between the worship team and individuals speaking. I implemented this fix this morning and it made a huge difference simplifying my live stream work flow. This was a perfect fix.

    First Thanks for your great video's! Here is a topic suggestion for a possibly next video. I am wondering how to prevent extreem loud sound bursts coming out of the Aux out outputs. So how to set the limit of the level coming out of a Aux out. This to protect the ears of the performer, which will be listening to that Aux out using his/her In-ears or monitor wedge, when for instance feedback occurs. Other tips/considerations best practices around this topic are very welcome aswell. Thanks in advance.

    Hi and thanks for creating this helpful video. I am not a sound guy but I play one at church. Actually, I do the video part of our live stream but we are hoping to improve our live stream audio. The real audio guys at church asked me if they could just devote one Mix Bus to the live stream instead of two. Since they run the X32 in mono, will one Mix Bus work just as well? Thanks again.

    I use our house mix as LCR. I use the Sends on the LCR to send to a matrix.
    So what we have in house is what we have online. On the matrix I applied the right amount of compression so that the music is not too loud and the preaching is clear and loud enough. With no pumping of the levels.

    Hi Drew, thanks for your video. I am using Presonus SL 32.4.2AI. Does that mean I should use aux send instead of main output for streaming? (Ex: Aux 1 & 2) However, I don't know how can I control the volume level of Aux 1 & 2 without impacting the the main mix at church during worship. Thanks in advanced!

    Quick question Drew, but first I want to thank you for all the content you have shared, it’s been of great help for us.
    I have followed this video to create a separate bus for our Stream Mix, and have send channels that we need on this Stream bus.
    My issue is that when we turn up or down a channel in the house audio L/R Main, it also affects the Stream bus..
    Any idea how can that be fixed..
    Thanks again!

      Yes! I second this. I have the same issue with the Pastor being too low compared to the rest of the mix on a dedicated WING console for stream. If I turn him up, it makes the mix terrible by adding all of the room noise via his mic 😖

For example, the keyboard was quite loud on facebook but when i try to reduce th volume, i realise it also affects the volume of the in house speakers. Is there anyway I can control each channels sent through matrix without affecting the in house sound please? Thanks

    Question… why did you send the mix to the aux out as well?

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  ปีที่แล้ว

      I send to the aux out so you don't need to re-route anything when you want an extra output for a recorder for one of the band members, or a video camera that you randomly need to plug in. Just always anticipating those things.

    • @DrewBrashler

      I agree with Timothy here, Room Mics would be what you want. Just be careful to not put the room mics into the mix of the mains as you would get feedback at that point.

    Hey Drew, thank you for all you do. Maybe someone can provide guidance or you can make a new video. And I hope I explain this well. Our church is live streaming thru Propresenter 7 on iMac and using an ATEM mini for our mulit camera set. The audio output from the X32 was set up like a monitor going to the ATEM and then is connected to the iMac for the live stream out. This is where I believe we have issues. Pre-live stream, the iMac's audio out has always been connected to the X32 to allow us to play videos or music from TH-cam and announement videos to our in house audience. However with live stream, when we play anything from the iMac for both in-house and live stream together, we get an echo effect. Not sure what I can set or route to fix this. Thank you again.

    • @josua2517
      @josua2517 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is something that I would fix in PP7, can't guide you trough the whole thing step by step but inside PP7 audio settings set up output 1&2 for inhouse and 3&4 for online audience. 1&2 go to the X32 while 3&4 go to the stream.
      From there you have different options on how to set things up for the stream.

    Thanks Drew! can you tell me if I can stream off the xlive and also do muilt tracks on SD card on the xlive card

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can, however you would need to sacrifice two channels for your left right mix to go to the card. Both the computer and the SD card would be receiving the same set of audio channels. You can use the User Out Routing, grab 1-30 of your inputs, and then on user out 31-32 you can grab where you have your stream outputting. Then you will just need to have your expansion card pulling from the User Outputs. Hope this helps!

    I would like to know how to do Solo In Place (stereo PFL) on the Wing mixer without affecting the main LR mix.

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Solo in Place has always been a destructive solo in that it will mute all channels of the board except the soloed channel in the main LR. You can do an AFL or a PFL solo through the headphones or set up some near-field monitors at your mix position and use a few local outputs off of the Wing to send your monitor output to the speakers. That might be one work around for you.

    Pretty much exactly how I start out a live stream from FOH mix. Something else I do is route my stream mix to the USB recorder, so that I have a clean and balanced 2-track recording.

    • @DrewBrashler
      @DrewBrashler  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great idea, Christian! Always nice to upload that 2-track to Dropbox or Google Drive and share with the band members too. I have received a lot of side gigs because of those shared files!
