Great Video! Needs to be posted to all Amazon 250cc Bike sales as top comment IMO
Just ordered it brother! Finally. I decided to just go with the regular version.
I did the sprocket upgrade, which made a completely different bike. I also switched to universal read tires. My bike is used mostly for commuting so I need a little cargo space. I removed the helmet carrier and took storage tube and replaced it With a small ammo can. I also built a new front fender for it that I can strap my tackle box to.
"Boss the Plane, er..The Clutch the Clutch!" LOL.. Needs to be adjusted.🤙
Bodie, Thank You ! I the Nibbi N28 (out of box) worked better than the n30 that I had on before. Jet kit no help. Many tries.
I now pronounce my HAWK 229 "Saddlebag Worthy"
Awesome!!!! Glad it all worked out for you that's great, stay safe out there
@@BodieMoto I am in your debt. I managed 72 mph in the highway. My mods were nearly the same, except I found a muffler from a RPS 20 retro. I ground the welds off of the gigantic stock muffler and welded the round glass pack one on. Looks better. Sounds better. I used two 15' rolls of heat tape on the header pipe. No more cooked ankles. LOL
I plan on getting this bike sooner or later and just have a couple of questions. What modifications that u talked abt in the vid would you recommend switching out before putting the bike together? Are these modifications good for riding on the highway or freeway?
Great info definitely will be buying some of these mods! appreciate the videos!!
Nice. Owned two. Currently have the dlx model . Awesome looking bikes!!
Beautiful bike, Bodie! One of the nicest I've seen by far! Thank you for the information on the mods as well. Was installing the digital dash difficult? I've seen a few videos but interested if their were any issues with the Hawk. Let me know if your ever interested in selling. I'm in Upstate NY. Thanks again for an inspiring and very well-done project bike!
First of all thank you a ton I appreciate that alot. And the digital dash install was pretty easy, most annoying part was taking off the gas tank but everything else just pops into place and my dash even came with instructions that perfectly detailed how to do everything and what each wire meant. Everything is basically color matches besides 2 wires so it's all super easy. I've literally never worked on bikes or cars before this bike so considering a complete beginner was able to do it I'd say it's pretty easy. I'm honestly debating selling it so I can get a bigger bike but at the same time I feel like I should just keep it forever.. it's just a bit slow overall for me, I'd like a little more pull even for city riding but especially freeway and highway riding. Around here everyone is cruising at 85+ so it's tough to keep up out there lol
@@BodieMoto Grumpy Jenkins said, "There is no replacement for displacement." Aliexpress has a complete 300cc kit for $65 !! Shout out to TACO MOTO for the wonderful 30 min tutorial !
oops, moto taco
@@johnvolstad5870 really only 65 bucks?!?! I need to look more into this, I'll check out tacos video on that!
Sweet looking bike!
Do you know if the exhaust will work for a lifan kpx 250cc?
Be careful with phone mounts like that. I found out the hard way that they're known for breaking your camera stabilizers from the vibrations of the bike. Other more reputable brands have rubber gaskets to absorb vibrations. I had that exact phone mount you have and just after 3 weeks it broke my camera.
@@midweekboredom2646 Same here! A $400+ mistake.
I actually make 71 mph no nibbi carb upgrade yet but do have an akra exhaust on it front 17 sprocket and rear 41 sprocket going for the 39 no other mods yet
Did you switch out the main/pilot jets in the Nibbi or did it run well with the jets that came with it?
Stock jets in the nibbi carb, I didn't touch them
@@BodieMoto Correct !
Pure lawnmower strength I'm dying
My hawk w/PA 30 with stock gutted exhaust will eat this up.
What's your top speed after mods?
I bought the flange carb didn’t fit studs are to long I see you have a black adapter? Am I missing something here?
You should look into big bore mod gives you another 50cc or something like that
I just ordered mine from Aliexpress. 300cc with piston, rings, and gaskets. TACO MOTO has an EXCELLENT tutotial !
Oops....Moto Taco
@@johnvolstad5870got a link 4 it? I’ll put it on my hawk 250
@@kev8869 send me link please
air box vs. cold air intake?
Please tell me what size mm The Shock is please🙏🏼😥😥😥
I got the 290mm version, link is in the description
@@BodieMoto did it lower it?
Can i use these upgrades for the ssr xf250?
How well do those tires do on light off-roading?
They are supposed to do alright off road but I actually haven't tried any off road riding since I put them on, on pavement they are incredible
Bodie: Another question if I may regarding your mods; did you do any kind of treatment such as spraying clear coat on or polishing the bike's body panels? Thanks!
Noo the panels are basically stock, I just took the stickers off
Have you thought about big bore kit?
I have thought about it but I've already done so many upgrades that I think I'll just leave it like this and buy a bigger bike for freeway and highway use. Been looking at sportbikes everyday on fb marketplace haha I think I'm gonna pick up a 600
@@BodieMoto Great tutorial on the 300cc upgrade from TACO MOTO on YT ! I bought my kit from Aliexpress. Looking for 80+ MPH. God willing.
er....Moto Taco. Oops
@@johnvolstad5870 send link?
Hi, do you have tutorial videos on the mods you did?
no unfortunely I did most my mods before I started making motovlogs but everything is sooo easy too mod dont worry too much about it
is it faster if you dont short shift so much?
Yeah a little bit but there's no much power in the top end, I've got 17/45 gearing so it's doesn't have much pull
@@BodieMoto thanks for the info
Did you convert it into a super moto
No I never ended up doing that
can you buy the nibbi carb for the efi version of the bike im not the best with dirtbikes more of a streetbike guy myself
Nooo it doesn't fit, I think there's a guy out there who did convert their efi hawk to carb but the carbed version is cheaper and better so might as well just get that
Why did u go with a nibbi 28 and not a 30mm?
30mm is harder to tune correctly for this bike and the 28mm flanged version fits right up to the engine with no modifications or adapters, plug and play with the 28mm FL version, jets were good for my sea level by default
Ok thankyou I'm 2 weeks away from ordering...I'm like u though a big fella..6ft6 297lbs speed don't matter to me it about getting out there enjoying yourself
@@BodieMoto Correct ! Nibbi 30 was huge copared to the PZ30. I kept fighting a mid-range bog, with the big Nibbi. Watching Bodies video inspired me to fork over the $90 for the 28 NIBBI. THE bogging WAS GONE! I was thrilled ! A nice Gift to all of you, It is very easy to take out the short, tiny staples that hold the seat cover on. I used a hand belt sander to recontour the foam to eliminate the hump. I have very long legs. Amazon has a air operated stapler for 0nly $30 that is a dream to use. As a kid I worked at two upholtery shops.
Cool bike, good video. Mine is blue/black. The Nibbi 28mm iz a gamechanger for the bike! I over-bored my Hawk to a real 250 class engine with a hefty cam, as well. My 0-60 time is classified information but I will show you if c u around, hehe!
What exact Hawk do you have brother.
Link the the description for the exact one that I got
How did you get the stickers off? Just a heat gun?
They peeled off pretty easily with my fingers
@@BodieMoto awesome, I just ordered a red one and like how yours looks
Any issues with that swapped speedometer? What year is yours? I just got a 2022.
no issues! everything works and it comes with instructions
Wonder if it will work on mines. Mines a 2016 I think or 15
@@kev8869 I had no issues with mine
@@derottv cool great. I’m lookin to upgrade mines real soon. I’m lookin into this big bore kit. Trying to make sure I get the right one. I want to do all the mods he did here too as well
Will not break any speed record soon
Definitely not lol
Has that thing ever seen a minute of dirt ?
Hell nah, these tires spin on gravel
@@BodieMotofucks w that
@@BodieMotoso wait.. these tires no good off road? I wanted to do everything u did to yours but that’s the main reason I like dirt bikes. The advantage to jump on n off road no problem. So I take these tires are only good on road
Did the exhaust go on pretty easy or did you have to modify some stuff?
I needed to add a few washers to the part that connects to the engine, and to connect the end of the exhuast to the bike I had to flip the bolt around and push down real hard to get the bolt all the way through. A little annoying and I did not think it was going to fit but it fits great now super snug
@@BodieMoto Sweet. Thanks man. I saw your other video and screwed it into the part that connects the seat rack
your tire links do not work anymore jsyk brother
Oh man thanks for letting me know I'll fix that
