Yeah it is a little 😌 But if you have a 12 year old boy/girl then they could get it because you can adjust the max speed on the electric dirt bike 🚲 and then they could use it
You should buy 2 identical crate bikes. One that you bolt together, pour gas over and just ride, and one which is built by a pro mechanic who drains out the crate oil, checks all the things like valve clearances, and specs it up using a pre road inspection sheet. Then test them against each other.
I have 1600 miles on my Hawk and never had a single problem. I change the oil and do weekly maintenance on it though. Carb, sprockets, chain, Speedo upgrade is required from day 1. (Or go with this DLX). Got in late 2020, since then I have assembled 4 others for people in the neighborhood. Affordable, and rather reliable for what they are. I mainly drive to work but have taken it hill climbing every year and has been on a motoX track a few times with light jumps. I wanted to hate this bike but you just can't. Easy to title. $8.00 in fuel @ $3.99 which lasts me 2 weeks with regular every day driving to work, stores, etc.. When I build these I always force the mandatory mods otherwise they would hate the bike.
Yeah, I love these. Honestly, someone could just make a YT channel where they order weird stuff off Amazon, Aliexpress, DHgate, and review them. I'm sure they exist. I've seen a mechanic oriented version that basically does that.

Your idle is most likely the valves needing proper adjustment, you'll also get a decent bit of power with them properly adjusted. You should have been able to pull wheelies on it in 2nd without working for it. Unlike most engines this one wants the lash set when the engine is dead cold.Manual calls for 2thou for both but most people shoot for 3thou on the exhaust. The 2 other quick and easy idle issues will be intake: the tube from the air box to the throttle body being bent to shit and partially collapsed( I bought a Hawk to be a cheep ass so my cheep ass fix is Simply Orange single serving juice bottle caps with the tops cut out shoved into the cheep hose works great) and double check the airbox isn't full of random bullshit like packing peanuts, plastic bags, mice etc. Also cut the intake portion of the airbox open a bit more, you can see where it should have opening but half is filled with modeled plastic. The second easy fix for a shit idle is check for and correct any shorts in the CDI and or plug wire, even if its running great you probably have one and will gain a bit of pep from fixing it. You can "port and polish" that head in a afternoon with a harbor freight rotary tool, it's stupid forgiving of ghetto engineering and it has a noticeable effect on the bike. Heck just tearing it down, scotch bright and properly lapping in the valves, because that heads not seen it in the factory will have a positive effect.
Check the valve lash. Pretty sure it keeps stalling because they send those hawks with the valves cranked down. Mine was set to 0.0. Also the gap in the spark plug is not set from manufacturers. Set intake to 0.3 and exhaust to 0.4 should improve performance. Helped mine tremendously.

When I had my less than mid life crisis and wanted to start riding a motorcycle for the first time legally I wanted a dual sport. I looked at these real hard and strive to hustle to get it, so I traded some guns ($400ish) for a Suzuki VS1400. Then with that profit I bought a 2018 Kawasaki Z125 for $1,500 rode it a couple weeks and then sold it for $2,400. Then bought a 2009 Kawasaki Versys 650 for $2,000 that was salvaged and covered in pollen and dirt and I'm in love :). New beefy 70/30 tires new clutch, chain sprocket, new levers and foot pegs, rear rack from Ukraine, Givi top case and Harbour Freight moto netting on the rear sides ;) going to ADV it and camp
Well it's easy to have patience when you're so rich and bored you have thousands to blow on motorcycles and four wheelers from Amazon to make TH-cam videos.
Every battery I've ever bought has a length of tube to attach to the acid bottle then you put the buisness end into the battery and squeeze the bottle.. Also.. pretty sure the F is for FULL lol. Great video tho guys!
@@5855brot kind of like them not knowing what the F was for at the top of the gas gage. Lol but it gets them comments and thats what they're hoping for.

I litterly love your videos I get happy when I get to see that you uploaded. I have always wanted a dirt bike since i was 7 and now I’m 13 and I can’t get one because of money issues or financial problems I don’t really care what type it is it could be the worst but I would still ride it because I just want to have fun and my dream is to ride dirt bikes and pit bikes. My dream pit bike is the crf110f but I know for sure I will never have that in my hands even. Especially when I can’t even buy a 500-600 dollar dirtbike like the Tao Tao or Apollo. I love looking at dirt and pit bikes they make me feel like one day I will get one. My dad can’t buy me one because he has bills and not only that we are in a bad situation right now. But who cares about what I got to say you make the best content and I love when you get a new dirt bike because it makes me feel like when I finally be able to work in 3 more years I will finally get a 600 dollar dirt bike. I know that my dream won’t come true about the crf110f. But that’s ok. That bike is beautiful and you deserve it for sure. Keep up the work you put in these videos. Have a good day. the chinese bikes are becoming better and better, I have the Lifan Xpect 200 that I learned to ride on, the brake pedal was the first thing I bent, bought a new one and bent it again, sure I could've saved for a name brand and waited even longer to start having fun, but I honestly would probably still not own a bike yet if I waited
It's like rule numero uno not to even start the bike with the shipping oil. I guess considering the old Hawk's odometer said 26.9 miles you're not expecting to put any actual miles on it.
Exactly right. Best thing is to swap in conventional oil, run it at higher rpms for 30min - 1h or 10 min at full temperature, then change it with decent synthetic oil and a new filter if applicable. All cheap engines really need to be "broken/honed in" with a first oil change for longevity. If the engine has self learning efi, running high rpms without transmission load during break in also helps it get base mapping to run/idle better 👍
There are actually specialised tools on the market that can be used to remove bolts. You don't have to use a disc grinder every time you want to remove one. By the way, in America, don't you have shotguns to open boxes? Seems much quicker and more practical compared to using a chainsaw.
China does you the liberty of getting the first scratch on it for you and due to the lack of torque specs, extra nuts and bolts to replace the ones that fall out.
Just so you know, the little red tube that comes with your battery acid is for filling the battery. I did that once before and found out after the fact.
The red tube is the vent tube that goes on the side of the battery. The long clear tube is the one for filling the battery. It gives enough length to be able to start with the tube in the hole in the battery before tipping the acid bottle up and then you can tip the bottle back down when full before moving the tube
I'm thinking of getting my first bike and I know I want a dual sport/adventure bike. There's a local bike store that sells cheap Chinese TaoTao street legal dirt bikes for 1800-2000 and are 250 cc. What I really want is the new KLR 650
I make work benches out of the metal crate frame, they are fantastic work benches. If you get a few of them the neighbors love them to. Plywood and a few self tappers and your good to go.
The other blue bike has normal forks, the one you put together has upside down forks, upside-down forks are the more performance style forks while the normal one are for, cheaper, more like trail riding or smaller bike forks
Brand new out the box...From day 1 I had issues. --kick start --brake light --screws/bolts missing all over the place --bent fork --chain snapped twice --sprocket screws snapped clean off 2000k gone within. 3 1/2month's. I saved up a whole year to ride from March to Aug. Been watching this channel for a while. My furst bike ever and i damn near cried all the money poured into it. Im far from well off so it really hurt my soul and bank account. This was going to be my ride to work. Here i am no car, no transportation. Beware purchasing these unless someone just gave you a free one. --
did i just watch someone intentionally try to get a chainsaw caught in their clothing. seems like a fast way to get a ride in an ambulance i suppose lol
That green style of metal is parkerized. Parkerizing is a method of protecting a steel surface from corrosion and increasing its resistance to wear through the application of a chemical phosphate conversion coating.
This is like the Hawk you tested before but the “DLX” comes with (1) EFI, (2) stainless steel exhaust, (3) digital cluster, (4) 80/20 tires versus the knobbies, & (5) upside down forks. And no, it’s not a dirt bike. It’s a dual sport just like the cheaper Hawk.
I do hope Shaun at least gets the DLX running and assembled properly before he compares it to anything else. They had a Taotao kids atv that was assembled so poorly and carb horribly misadjusted and blamed it all on thr quad being junk.
Joe Anthony when you have the disposable income Shaun does.... Nothing is a waste. His cash to spend as he wants. Exactly how many Chinese one bikes do you own or have you ridden to base your opinion on again?
As a technicality, the DLX model is EPA/DOT certified as an 'On highway motorcycle' in 49 states (Californians need not apply), whereas the regular Hawk (and its cousin, the Magician which is nothing like the Hawk other than it uses the exact same engine) is EPA certified as an 'Offroad dirtbike'. Many states will street register and plate them based on the fact that it comes with all the street-legal equipment one needs to plate dirtbikes, and its MCO is misrepresented by stating 'Motorcycle' vs. 'Dirtbike' (shhhh, don't let the EPA know, LOL) on it. There are some states that will street plate converted dirtbikes but only after jumping through a few hoops and it takes time, like up to a year(I believe Colorado is one such state). In theory, with the DLX, one should be able to get it plated everywhere but Calif. with minimal hassle.
So if you had to swap in a different motor, what brand do you think the used parts could come from? For instance, the Massimo SXS/UTV that is sold at Tractor Supply, takes many parts from the Yamaha Rhino. So aftermarket add-ons and replacement parts are easier to find.
Thank you Sean & guys for the fab videos, its great to see you guys after all the rubbish were dealing with ,after servicing my carburators & attaching airpod filters to my Honda cbr1000f 1987,he sounds Amazing ,however, I still need to apply for my full licence, then I can ride on the streets😎😎😎
I bought one a couple months ago at the beginning of the summer and was told it was the last one in the states. I’ve been on it two times and put 125 miles on it and the blinkers don’t work anymore and the exhaust shield fell off from a shitty weld. You can clutch it up in first gear but not so much in second.
Why in the Hell is the camera guy talking, doesn't he know that it freaks us out to hear his voice right in the middle of your awesome dialog. Anything he wants to say can wait until later. Man this guy.
Turn the battery upside down and slip it into the first chamber. Then flip the acid on top. Fill the first chamber. cap it. Do the same with the rest of the battery chambers. Slower but never spills. A much faster way is with proper tubing use it as a pinchable spout and do each one while pinching the tube to cut off flow.

God Bless!! 🧘♀️♻️🧘♂️

@@YOU_CREATE_YOUR_OWN_KARMA_369 To go 75 on the freeway you really need 500cc or better. Most 250s can't reach that, and all will be running wide open sounding sketchy and shaking your hands numb and rattling your teeth.
If you can stick to 55 or 60 the hawk can do it, but its not ideal.
@@YOU_CREATE_YOUR_OWN_KARMA_369 power shouldn't be your main concern if it's your first bike dude. Get comfortable riding first then up the power.
Agreed
You fill the battery by turning it upside down and attaching it to the bottle, then flipping them together.
Lulz he doesn't claim to be a mechanic, but anyone who has ever done this before knows the tricks 🤣 maybe he did it for entertainment value 🤔 😉
Actually that's not how u do it you use the little red hose u can bend the hose to the hole lift the acid fill drop acid bend hose pack repeat each hole i have filled hundreds at work never spilled a drop..
at worst have a small funnel around

Man, I really miss my Hawk now! 😭 Hopefully I'll have everything together to get a CRF250L by this November. Great video as always though, can't wait to see how you all "test" this one! Lol
Highly recommend a 250l. Great bike..little less on the power side but great bike none the less
@@jakelowe3526 I'm pumped to get my hands on one. It's what I've wanted from the get go, but I was too broke before so I settled with a Hawk. I've heard before that they aren't super powerful, but I'm alright with it. I'm mostly around country roads and trails anyway. Plus anything is an upgrade from a Chinese engine! 😂
@@Whitingbolt may not be the most powerful, but it will run forever. Good luck to you and your future bike.
@@jakelowe3526 Thank you very much. You too, in whatever endeavors the future might bring you!
"Oh that kinda looks like chain saw marks...not sure how that happened." 🤣🤣
When I had my less than mid life crisis and wanted to start riding a motorcycle for the first time legally I wanted a dual sport. I looked at these real hard and strive to hustle to get it, so I traded some guns ($400ish) for a Suzuki VS1400. Fixed and cleaned it up and sold it for $1,400, the guy had a higher number in mind and I could tell but told him $1,400.
The less than midlife
Ghehehe
I think i got that when i was 11 i'm 47 now. :))
Your patience is second to none I'd be chucking things around in frustration.
Well it's easy to have patience when you're so rich and bored you have thousands to blow on motorcycles and four wheelers from Amazon to make TH-cam videos.

Yeah hear him groan "There we go", yet he completely missed the hole in the shock.
I noticed that too hilarious xD
I have been binge watching the last couple days and can not stop!
Every battery I've ever bought has a length of tube to attach to the acid bottle then you put the buisness end into the battery and squeeze the bottle..
Also.. pretty sure the F is for FULL lol.
Great video tho guys!
7:10, the tube is on the floor. That was the dumbest thing I've seen them do on this channel in a long time.
@@DeadBaron No, he drops the red acid tube from his left hand at 4.27, so he just wants to look stupid, and it worked......
@@5855brot kind of like them not knowing what the F was for at the top of the gas gage. Lol but it gets them comments and thats what they're hoping for.
@@theroamingokie5438 I like their videos, but trying to be as dumb as possible, that sometimes gets a bit annoying.
Quality batteries come with a multi port funnel or have the multiple ports built into the acid bottle 👍 but they're not nearly as good for baiting in TH-cam commenters though 😄
Hilarious, thanks for the funny video
The ending had me Rollin
Who the hell disliked this video already lol this guy is great!

Also LIKE SUBSCRIBE AND TURN ON THE BELL FOR BIKES AND BEARDES.
I love these videos, what'd i really like to see is a race between this and the old hawk 250 to really show the difference in power
"We will probably be a little nicer to this one" yeah right
the chinese bikes are becoming better and better, I have the Lifan Xpect 200 that I learned to ride on, the brake pedal was the first thing I bent, bought a new one and bent it again, sure I could've saved for a name brand and waited even longer to start having fun, but I honestly would probably still not own a bike yet if I waited
A nice AvE style unboxing, very impressive!! Hopefully it's going to Chooch!
She will chooch
There's a good chance she'll let the smoke out.
Link to channel?
he is a better mechanic than most of us, we know when there are left over bolts and nuts after full assembly
Wish I had one of those bikes, specially the CBR :) Enjoy watching your vids. Subsciber from Philippines. More power to you. Ride safe!
That's a mighty fine looking Honda CBR at the back.
yeah it is
HAPPY 500,000 SUBS... WELL DONE... KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK...
Thank you so much. It’s all because of people like you
14:04 F is for FREEDOM!
The bike recognized it's in the United States...Merica! F Yeah!
There are actually specialised tools on the market that can be used to remove bolts. You don't have to use a disc grinder every time you want to remove one. By the way, in America, don't you have shotguns to open boxes? Seems much quicker and more practical compared to using a chainsaw.
In a couple months :Sean I bought a house ON AMAZON
China does you the liberty of getting the first scratch on it for you and due to the lack of torque specs, extra nuts and bolts to replace the ones that fall out.
Legends say he will never stop buying Amazon bikes
Just so you know, the little red tube that comes with your battery acid is for filling the battery. I did that once before and found out after the fact.
i tried that but it did not work very well
The red tube is the vent tube that goes on the side of the battery. The long clear tube is the one for filling the battery. It gives enough length to be able to start with the tube in the hole in the battery before tipping the acid bottle up and then you can tip the bottle back down when full before moving the tube
Dude!! The red fill tube to get the acid into the battery without spilling was laying right next to the battery!! Nice.
No Offence Mate, but hope You don't help the Bike Tech, or worse still repair the bikes !!!
The red hose that comes with the battery and acid is great for pouring with zero spills.
Honda sells this in Brazil named as "Bros" but with the thin normal forks
I swear you and yamminoob are the only ones carrying the whole motovlog/motorcycle videos 💯💯
Sorry but moto vlogging is dead and I like to think I hammered the last nail
cocain's a hell of a drug

I'm thinking of getting my first bike and I know I want a dual sport/adventure bike. There's a local bike store that sells cheap Chinese TaoTao street legal dirt bikes for 1800-2000 and are 250 cc. What I really want is the new KLR 650
Parece muito uma honda bros 150 cilindradas, porem a suspensão dianteira desta ai é do tipo invertida
Praticamente é uma bros
I make work benches out of the metal crate frame, they are fantastic work benches. If you get a few of them the neighbors love them to. Plywood and a few self tappers and your good to go.
What is "F"? totally ignores the "E" and the gas indicator
Should have WTF.........LOL
Haha I came to the comment section specifically for this comment lmai
The other blue bike has normal forks, the one you put together has upside down forks, upside-down forks are the more performance style forks while the normal one are for, cheaper, more like trail riding or smaller bike forks
Brand new out the box...From day 1 I had issues.
--kick start
--brake light
--screws/bolts missing all over the place
--bent fork
--chain snapped twice
--sprocket screws snapped clean off
2000k gone within.

If there is one thing I learned in my hobby (guns) is that buy once cry once... the cheaper alternatives are usually shit
Free tip, when you insert the bolt for the lower shock mount, it's better if you actually get the bolt through the shock eye! 😂
did i just watch someone intentionally try to get a chainsaw caught in their clothing. seems like a fast way to get a ride in an ambulance i suppose lol
Dude, I just love watching your videos. God bless brother!
You actually came through I was the kid suggesting it and you were one step ahead
@@jasonjulian1 tthats how it is on everything they do, or change soemthignon the bike and compares
what a waste of money,
Joe Anthony when you have the disposable income Shaun does....
I totally want this bike. Awesome vids , keep them coming.
Nobody mentions this guy has 90% of his videos titled “I bought ........ bike”
Been waiting for this one aye;)
I been tryna buy a bike but me and my family don't have money, after u guys are done can I please have the bike.
Man this guy.
can he not talk tho
Turn the battery upside down and slip it into the first chamber. Then flip the acid on top. Fill the first chamber. cap it. Do the same with the rest of the battery chambers. Slower but never spills. A much faster way is with proper tubing use it as a pinchable spout and do each one while pinching the tube to cut off flow.
