@Westcoast @Westcoast Saw, Ok Gordy! I’m 57 British and British and just been mind blown by this! Just incredible. What I would not give to fly over and work with you guys for a Once in a lifetime experience Humbled I am
Back when i got out of High-school in 84 i went to work in Corey and son's log yard in Port Angeles and we still got old growth in at that time. Some of the Spruce and cedar were 12 to 15 ft through! I bumped knots and cleaned the hair and bucked when the scalers wanted a hook or something taken off to make it pretty for the overseas buyers! I had a 056mag i used and a 084 for the huge stuff! Good stuff Gordy thanks for sharing!
I am in awe of how you fellas work together with one on the saw and the other watching the cut on the blind side. I can tell you guys have worked together a lot. Like a well-oiled machine. Thanks for sharing and be careful out there.
@@westcoastsaw1368 Behind my friends place there are about 7 big red cedar stumps with the spring board notches in them. These stumps are about 10 feet across.
Monumental! The trees AND the men! Okay, okay. I did that one already. But still... As a carpenter I'm fond of saying "they don't grow trees like they used to". Damn these are big, characterful trees that take some thought. Spruce plantations in Scotland, cut down by harvesters? Lucky if they're 18-24 inches diameter and 60 years old.
Why would a customer want that tree cut down? It looks healthy, its huge, beautiful and I bet it"s old. It doesn't seem to be to close to a building or anything! (those huge old trees should be left standing imo) Anyway, good job cutting. You got the job done well.
So cool! Garrett looks like a fox in a hen house hangin off the flares and touchin big uglys off into the alder and viney! What's the big saw you guys had there Gordy, and 80 or 81 with a 50"?
@westcoastsaw1368 when I was a kid my dad and uncle's had an 084 I believe it was with a 72" for big shit, I love those big saw setups! I was 11-12 many years later and a family friend had the saw and it was all I could do to pick it up and get the tip off the ground haha
Great job guys! Hey Gordy, my name is Dylan Mccane I've been a follower of your channel for several years along with Jake's. I recently purchased a sthil ms201tc muffler from you and the bottom completely broke in half in a strange way. I'm an arborist, I was at work and noticed it sounded way different all of a sudden. I take care of my saws meticulously and I also build saws. I emailed your company website but no reply yet, I love the muffler so I was hoping maybe you guys could send me a new one? I sent pictures in the email as well. Thanks Gordy, safe cuttin!!
Yes we will get you taken care of I will be in the office all week if you emailed Us Krista will be on it first thing Monday morning if not call the office number and I will take care of it for you 👍
Thanks a million! It's a really great price for the muffler and super nice quality like the rest of your products. I won't run anything else after bolting that thing on!
Gordy I wanted to say thanks again to you and your team at WCS, you all are exceptional people and you truly take care of your customers and I'm grateful! One day I'd love the opportunity to come out to Washington and make a few stumps with you guys and maybe get the chance to climb a couple fir sticks with Jake! Would have loved to been able to meet Jed as well, such a humble guy and very knowledgeable. Anyway, thanks again ol buddy!!!
It Varys on these most the time on these bigger ones they are going over seas we were cutting lengths of 27’ 33’ 39’ So some of the bigger but ends we were cutting 27’ then maybe a 33 or 39 on second log “if we thought the loader can move it” then mite get 2 more logs after that if we were lucky
That's some of the most ridiculous falling I've ever seen. Do you get paid extra when the trees are insane like that? And what happens to those stumps? Just leave 'em there?
Garrett is a beast!
Really is. That was expertly done fixing the dutchy.
Best fr!
Holding a saw that size above your shoulders, while being accurate, takes a very strong man.
beast yes! Bjarne is the GOAT. 😁
Amazing how you bring wood to life!

You prolly got into some good stuff back then 👌thanks for watching hope it didn’t make u miss limbing these horrible things too much 😆

I think we now need a proper springboard tutorial. Appreciate the videos. These are my favorite.
Great job gentlemen. Great video.
Nice work fellas! Always enjoy watching you guys fall big timber
Impressive! Great teamwork.....those things are huge!!
Great job Gordy and Garrett.
You need to get Treason up on a couple of those spring boards. 😂😂😂😂😂
He just needs furring strips 😂
Those are huge trees! Well done gentlemen! Keep up the good work!
Thank you very much!

Epic! I think I need some spring boards now.
Dude! Great job gentlemen. Great video.
Much appreciated!
Great Work Gentlemen. That was impressive. Old School logging.
You all make it look so easy! Stay safe out there!
Thanks you too
massive trees! amazing job getting them down! can not wait for the next video!
Awesome video! I would love to see this in person!!
Garrett is a throttle jockey for sure!
He never lifts his finger 😂
Gordie as an 11-year-old I would love to see this in person you need to get Jacob out here
Great job guys not many people have those skills any more . Fantastic viewing. ✊🏻🇦🇺
What magnificent looking beast of a tree.
you guys were having entirely way too much fun on the job
It’s hard not to when you both love your job.
Such an awesome job
Nice cutting
Thank you
Nice cutting lads👍New subscriber. All the best from Scotland 🏴 GD
Thanks and welcome
Amazing video!
All the spring boards from the looks of it!
As someone who is at least 8ft I really enjoyed this one. Those were some gnarly trees
Is no one going to comment on how suped-up these saws are? Great cuts.
Nice work guys ✊️
Great to see ya Gordy 😁❤❤
Cuttn monsters ❤❤❤❤❤❤ love cuttn the big timber ❤❤❤
Hate to see a tree like that go what beauty that tree was so big beautiful I know you guys have a job to do God bless
The old school meets the new school ☝️👍👍👍👍😎
OSHA: Never use a chainsaw while standing on a ladder.
This guy: Hold my beer.
Wow what a crazy tree
Love your videos man
Great fallin!
I would not like standing on a spring board and cutting a big tree. Looks cool though.
Way more Garrett than I am
My Grandfather cut timber like that back east in the late 1800's 😊
Great video, that almost looks like sprouts from an old stump. They sure are huge trees
On the west coast a lot of the trees grow on a stump and after time the stump rots out and is taken over by the new tree. I forget the name for it.
You are correct they are on the old stumps 👍
Been waiting for this video since the leaks on insta
Crazy Impressed
Though while watching.. I was thinking how our ancestors did it with handsaws and axes
What a monster of a tree God bless God's amazing job
Dang that’s not a beginners day nice job fellas dang look like long all hard day 👊👊👊👊

god dang that dude is good
Old fullas were so hard. Im 51 most never made it.
So cool! Garrett looks like a fox in a hen house hangin off the flares and touchin big uglys off into the alder and viney! What's the big saw you guys had there Gordy, and 80 or 81 with a 50"?
We had Garrett’s 661 rigged up with a 55” cannon and Joe had his 881

that's a beast of a tree, dang ! I'd love to buck the snot out of that one lmao.
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.
Well thank you 🎉
Bad ass good job
Those were monsters.
👍👏👏👏👍👍👏👏
That tree was probably around before America became America!! That's wild!
No they grow like weeds down here the growth rings are wider than my thumb
Remember the whole area was clearcut around the turn of the twentieth century and has been looked at least twice since.
I wanna know how the logger got those smashers out of the woods and onto a truck!
👍👍
They didn’t bother with stuff like that back when there were still lots of trees.
Hell I didn’t want to bother with it now 😂👍
you guys should make a full wrap around handle for saws
Will this stump sprout/regenerate? Has it already been cut once before? Cant understand how its so girthy
Yep these will grow new trees again these were on the old stumps of the past
Don’t know what that job paid, but it probably wasn’t enough. Nice old school cutting
Thank you
Super cool video. Are you running any 309 machine 500’s?
Garrett is yes 👍
Badass
Isn't that stump a bit tall?
Tube salad would've slayed em
You know, I thought I was real hot shit when I cut down the big pine in my backyard 7 feet off the ground. I'll happily be put to shame by you three!
Buck ya !
So what will happen with the remaining stump, or will it just be left to rot?
Gordy do you get a lot of ticks down in Washington? I've never gotten a tick on the West Coast but find them on myself all the time in Ohio.
We don’t here luckily
That looked like Uncle Phil. Where was Aunt Sadie?
Haven’t talked to them in a minute there prolly in Oregon cuttin I’ll bet
I know forestry fullas dont want to put a line in. But rekon its ok if easy.
Hell yhea 🪓
You need a camera man that knows trees (wink wink)
I called everyone I knew and nobody was bitting 🤷♂️
@@westcoastsaw1368 I would come do it if you ever need someone. I'm in Puyallup
Super cool. Why do you all have those knit wool gloves? I’d think dipped gloves with rubber palms or just leather would be the ticket.
breathe, inexpensive fill up with sap/pitch toss them.
These breathe the others I find get sweaty
What type of pants is Garrett wearing? The same denim with slip in chaps or is it a chainsaw pant?
Yep same inserts we always run
Was the tree sick?
Or the fullas doin it.
Sure dont see that out on this side of the country. Id come bang wedges for yous just to see it happen. Hows that old crawler coming along Gordy?
The D7 is up and running great pushing dirt 😁I need to do another video of her problem is the weather is wet now up here so she is down till spring
No where to run no where to hide
When are you going to post the video when you came down with Antone this summer?
It’s coming soon 🎉
Tallest stump I've ever seen. Nasty. Good to have caulks on your boots.
Just cos they never cared much bout it.
Rekon 2 to much for me. But then if had to' surprisin.
Tall trees them
How tall are these monsters, 75 80 feet?
It Varys on these most the time on these bigger ones they are going over seas we were cutting lengths of 27’ 33’ 39’

@@westcoastsaw1368 wow, I wonder how old these trees are? Some great work y’all!
Ugly tree man ..great skills ..superb directions
Is Garrett human?
That's some of the most ridiculous falling I've ever seen. Do you get paid extra when the trees are insane like that? And what happens to those stumps? Just leave 'em there?
Stumps get left for more trees to grow out of them for the next generation
As much as respect the work most was done to line rich peoples houses. N not into that.
Why are your guys face cuts so shallow?
