I only know from the videos but you can tell jed was that secret genius. He seemed to be one of those guys that had a lot of knowledge of TINY LITTLE details that would.make a world of difference in your work. I learned the hinge cut to swing the tree opposite of the lean from watching him. It's a Good lesson for arborists no matter how good how safe and how attention to detail you are.......trees will.always have a hidden safety hazard that nobody will notice and that's just the way it is

IF YOU DIED TODAY? HEAVEN OR HELL
THE GOSPEL ( GOOD NEWS )
Sin is any bad thing that you've done, said or thought.
Everyone's sinned and because of sin no one can go to heaven.
      Romans 3:23 KJV - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23 KJV - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
God punishes sin with a literal burning hell.
Revelation 21:8 KJV - But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Romans 5:8 KJV - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:9 KJV - Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Religion, water baptism, Church attendance or being a good person and doing good works can't save you because no one is good enough to get to heaven, you CANT earn it.
Romans 10:9 KJV - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Jesus says HE is the ONLY way to heaven John 14.6
The good news is If you TRUST that the Son of God Jesus Christ paid the penalty of your sin which is death by shedding his blood, dying for you, was buried and was raised from the dead on the third day and are sorry for being a sinner turn to God from unbelief to belief and simply call out to Jesus sincerely, if you believe everything you've heard in the gospel and mean what you say you will be saved and can KNOW you will go to heaven. 1John 5:13,
Here's a short prayer you could say -
THE PRAYER ITSELF DOES NOT SAVE YOU
ITS YOU TELLING GOD YOU BELIEVE THE GOSPEL IT HAS TO COME FROM THE HEART.
"Dear God, I repent as a sinner. I believe Jesus is God, who died, buried and resurrected so his blood can wash away my sins. so I only trust in His blood alone to save me, not my good works, save me from hell in Jesus name I pray; amen."

I am a 78 year old retired fireman, now a full time farmer that thoroughly enjoys watching you tree industry fellows do your thing. The wooded area on our farm, located approximately 30 miles south west of Portland, Oregon contained the stump remains of very large old growth that history tells me was logged in the 1930's. It was great to see you fellows taking on and doing a fine job felling trees in a category close to those of the stumps on our farm. Our stumps ranged from six to ten feet or so in height, with diameters at the cut ranging from 8 ft. to over 12 ft.. After looking at the springboard notches for so many years, this video gave me possibly the closest view of what it would have been like back in the 1930's logging our land. The greatest difference wound be using chainsaws versus misery whips and axes to bring those big ones down. Very interesting and enjoyable video, well done! Nick, North West Farmer

Reg Coates does the best and biggest trees safely . August brings up # 2. # 3 goes to bucking Billy Ray. As for putting a smile on a ones face BBR gets # 1 hands down August pulls in # 2
Reg has a dry sence of humor and that ain't changing .
Reg also gets the safety award for never dropping out of or never getting dropped on by a tree .
Making bank goes to to August's crew flat out . that dude has been blessed by the one who knows trees better then anything or anyone . All three are great guys to learn from .
Lets face it , you can learn from anyone if you want to . just my honest opinion and I don't cut trees for money . I have found another good channel to learn from. Be safe and watch out for them giants falling out them trees .

Such a nice memorial to your friend.
When my daughter was in high school, her best friend’s father was killed the same way.
My oldest son is trying to start a tree business. He watched hours of TH-cam videos. He was trained to climb trees in the USFS to collect cones. But he also is the World’s 1st Deaf B.A.S.E. jumper and has been packing tandem parachutes for the last 8 years.
He been with many friends who have died BASE jumping.
Tree climbing seems just as risky. He climbed a few of mine this winter in helping me thin my forest. As a mom helping, it’s not easy to breathe.
Love your channel and watching it is something we can do together and discuss. We live in Pend Oreille County, WA

    • @giantidiot31

Not trying to sound racist, but I've seen that too! Though, I never did this part. I mainly built the shells and skeletons for houses, sheds, etc. It always felt like the Hispanic dudes (even though they were really nice outside of work) wanted to just do the whole job on their own. Myself and the other white guys ended up being driven out by the majority of Hispanic dudes. Really sucks, because some of those projects were so much fun, and we would have done a much better job if people left their ego at the door.

Yet another enjoyable AND educational video from you. I’m a carpenter now in the US, but I spent 16 years making tv programmes in Britain, so I feel able to say if you ever tire of falling trees (unlikely), go in to tv production. Your production values, pacing, music choices, are excellent. The guys you work with and the respect you have for each other is great to watch. All the passion you have to do what you do comes across, without all the bravado and grandstanding that is evident in popular ‘reality’ tv shows. How refreshing!

Just done a 3-day medium tree felling course (CS32) last week. Not as big as these ones though! Double cuts though, to pass the CS32 you have to use a small bar (16" max on 380-560mm trees) so you can't cut through all the tree diameter all in one go (as that would be cheating!). Got my assessment on Thursday! (England) Looks like you guys had awesome fun. It was only me and the instructor on mine!

The Styx Valley, past the township of Maydena, about 100 kilometres north-west from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia is often damp, cold and foggy.
It is also home to the world's tallest flowering plant and one of the world's tallest trees - the eucalyptus regnans, often called mountain ash or swamp gum.
These towering gums are thought to grow to 100 metres or more, with the tallest living tree on record being Centurion in Tasmania at a confirmed 99.6 metres (327 feet). It would be good to see u guys down here to get an eye full of these living monsters.

Good video. I got into woodcutting for my wood stove. Hurricane Hugo came by a year after we moved in. I purchased a Stihl 038 AV Super with a 36” bar and took an oak off my roof. After the house was fixed I had lots of friends who gave me firewood. The pattern continued for 32 years and Ash, Oak, Cherry, and Hickory have been keeping me warm. I bought a new MS311 and a MS170 7 years ago and sold the 25 year old 038 for half price of new. The MS311 is lighter and as I age it makes a difference. It’s bucking last weekend’s harvest of storm damaged trees. The MS170 surprised me. I bought it for yard trimming and small trees but it took an 80’ pine off my lake house roof. The 16” bar handled it really well and the tree was carried off 4 hours after we started.
If I were in my 20s instead of 70s I’d love to go out west and cut some fir or redwood. I know the guy from PA must have had a great time. Thanks again for a terrific video.
