- Today we go for a kind of underdog. A really fun nation in victoria 3 with a decent challenge but all the tools to overcome them, we have Bavaria in Victoria 3. Victoria 3 Bavaria is able to form germany - provided they can navigate the unification play and leadership diplomatic plays. We have to contend with Victoria 3 prussia and Victoria 3 austria in order to form the GERMAN EMPIRE!

What seems to be an interesting idea is to form Germany as Austria but you release all the non German countries in the Austrian empire at the beginning

Incase you didn't notice, there is a new button on i think the state interations button at the bottom (may be one of the others, just click through them) that allows you to convert conquered states production lines to the country standard. so you don't have to manually set each production type (it works kind of like the state edicts, but its instant effect, no upkeep etc. just basically there to save you having to do it manually)
While watching this I realise a mistake I made in my last Vic3 game. Forgot to build arts academies so I didn’t get much prestige, despite fully industrialising as Sweden in the 1860s (way earlier than historically), making half of North Germany into parts of my market, making Hamburg, Bremen, Venezuela, Schleswig, Holstein, Oldenburg and Haiti my protectorates, creating a sizeable colonial empire, having the 5th largest SoL in the world, having the 7th largest GDP per capita and an army that beat Britain. For the entire game, I remained a minor power
the recent vicky 3 update has really made the game a lot more fun
Laith needs to research barbers, not the lathe.
If you want a fun Vic3 nation to play, I'd recommend Buganda or one of the small states around it. You actually get both iron and coal from the get-go and you have just enough time to build up your economy before they Europeans show up to wreck shop

Laith play as central america its a very hard start with every state trying to break away immedietly. I tried a few time myself and failed miserably

It is day 137 since I asked you to do the challenge with Croatia in VIC 3 but in one of the videos, a good person named Andraip (Thanks for all the help) said it has a few flaws so it's time to correct them. So when you start playing as Croatia you have 15 years to get your independence, after that you cannot ally, get in a defensive pact, and you cannot be under any kind of protection and you must rival these powers as soon as possible: Austria, Russia, Serbia, Montenegro, Ottomans, and all nations from the Italian boot. You also must embargo all those nations and cannot enter their custom union nor can they enter yours. You cannot be in an alliance with any of the top 10 nations, including a defensive pact custom union, or protectorate, but you can trade with them. AI must be put on the default settings in case it isn't. If you ally let's say Portugal, and later on they get into the top 10, you must break the alliance. You also must stay monarchy all the time. Form the Danubian state with Croatia following these rules. (FYI incase I didn't make it more specific, you cannot join anybody's custom union you must always at all times have your own market)

So I think the constant leadership fight is a bug. When they fall out of GP, it forgets they've been knocked out of the running.
Funnily enough, how hard you kept beating down the Prussians and Austrians caused them to fall in and out of GP repeatedly where of you'd been less brutal, you'd have had no issues with unification lol

One thing I don't like about this game is the flavor texts for techs. Like "(This substance) makes synthesizing certain dyes trivial". How? Why?
I think laith should incorperate more roleplay in to the politics when playing this, cause i can get quite tiresome with always doing all the reforms really early.

I'm trying to form Germany but I'm Saxony, which makes it harder than Bavaria.
I was wondering how that'd go. Probably needs a lot more diplomacy and caution. But if you can ally the Austrians and Russians and ideally the French or Brits as well, it should be possible. But you certainly are on a timer.

You don't need semi independent market, try and build for your own needs, and only build for the whole market when you are in dire need of money. Sure it takes more brain power, but it makes your life 10× easier. While making yugo, I changed 2 markets and still managed to pull it all off no problems(but then I got some virus outbrake cuz of open borders, screw you too, paradox)
