    Interesting you mentioned the woofer needs to be “broken in” somewhat. I knew this when I bought my heresy IV’s . I’m the second owner . I believe the first owner was not aware of this. Which played in my favor. I am so happy with them. Finest speakers I’ve ever owned.After a few weeks they’ve definitely opened up. The best comment on them was when my gf walked in and said how amazing they sounded and she was happy I bought them. My jaw hit the floor. That’s really saying something!

    Just came across your video and received my pair of IV’s a few days ago. Thanks for the history and story. It’s nice getting back to high efficiency speakers with great dynamics even at low volumes. After the first 5 minutes, I threw away the boxes.

    In 1984, I was the music man at my fraternity house. We had a dance floor with a pair of Heresy's powered by my personal mid-range KENWOOD receiver, whose model I have forgotten. It simply rocked! Super loud w no detectable distortion. Epic party speaker! Some of those nights I'll never forget!

      Heresys are one of my favorites in the line. While the CWs or others may outperform, for their size vs output ratio, they are simply amazing.

    Lived with Cornwalls from age 16 until 55 but had to leave them on the other coast. My ears have had a lifetime of having the Klipsch sound burned into my body as a whole. I finally picked up a 1978 Heresy pair for $500 just this week. Almost perfect condition and sound like Klipsch.

    Wow, lotta info there! I wonder if that square port could be easily added to a heresy 2 and get the same results?

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      People have ported them but I can't speak for the results. I've seen a port on the bottom before. Can't say I recommend it but it happens. Pretty sure there's a few projects floating around on the Klipsch community forum. At the minimum it's probably not going to dig as deep. The new cabinets are a little bigger if nothing else.

      then you probably need to replace woofer for that newer one (K-28?) as well

    Idc what people say I’m in love with my 901s connected to my sx1250 pioneer. But I would like to check these Hersey out or a pair of forte speakers.

    Listened to a pair of Klipshe Heresy i speakers from a mcantosh amp and loved every minute of it. Now I’m searching for a pair of my own and would love to get a set of these. Can’t imagine how they’d sound with a 100 watts pumped into them??

    Sir what the are size midhorn ,tweeter horn and exhaust port?

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! The size of the horns/ports aren't specified, as it is a variable. The mouth, throat, and inner flair will all have different shape/dimensions and, to my knowledge, Klipsch doesn't release that info directly.

    Love my Heresy IV s
    They really are hot rods , I have very silky HiFi stuff but when I need warp speed I listen to my Heresys.

    The Heresy was a good speaker back in the day, but the JBL L100 kicked it’s ass in every way.

    Using a cheat, +/- 4db instead of 3 like in the previous version is how Klipsch "got" an additional 10hz on the bottom. It should have never been ported.

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The III is rated at +/- 4db as well. This is not a cheat or some kind of cheap trick. The additional bottom end is real and it's an awesome improvement. The port, as well as other changes in the new design made a vast difference. Listen to this unit in person if you haven't already. The difference is not subtle.
