    Ive had numerous home theatre set ups throughout the years and I have found that a good Receiver and a set of LaScalas in front and a set of Heresy's behind is a very hard to beat combo.

Not to mention it looks insanely cool. I have somewhat wealthy acquaintances who have thrown gobs of money at there home theatre set up and it pails in comparison to my klipsch set up. Not sure why this works so well... But I am telling you there is something magical about klipsch, especially when you put them together.

    Great video! At the right time when I build my home theater I will have a combination of Klispch speakers. For the front LCR and the rear L R, I will have LaScalas, on top of each of those I am going to put Cornwells, those will be flipped upside down. So they are horn to horn, that way the mids and highs, will be at close to the same “relative” level.
    For my high level speakers, top front L R, rear L R, and for the seating position on each row of seats (2 rows) so far. I will be using Klipsch KPT-1200-VBM speakers. For my atmos I will be using Klipsch PRO 180 RPC
    For my subs I’m going with JTR Captivator 4000, four in the front, two in the rear.
    My room will be 24’ wide by 42’ length, this will include my equipment room. My available length is 53’, the approximate width of my new home I hope to start soon. The length of my home is 66’ so I do have room to play with on my theater width. Cielings would be at least 12’ in height.
    My two Channel listening room I’m going with the Jubilees.
    When I build this new entertainment house, whatever it takes to do it right, then thats it.

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's an interesting setup. Why doubling up on LCR and rears? Seems there would be single speaker options that would fit the bill a bit better as opposed to a CW on top of a LS.

      @@PaducahHomeTheaterTV Thank you for your reply. I was thinking with this setup it would provide a dramatic sound field for the front sound stage. The rear speakers in hindsight, would be well over the height of the rear seats, with the Cornwells being so much higher. With 12’ Cielings the top height of the Cornwells being ontop of the LaScalas, with those on a riser would be a few feet from the top of the cieling, wouldn’t be good for sound field separation.
      It’s good to go over ideas with others that have more experience in these things. So what would you suggest for a better setup?
      Thanks

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, LS all the way around would be a great setup without the CW on top. If you need more umph than those can offer, I would be looking at the Jubilees or the Klipsch Professional systems.

    I'm running a more budget Heresy II LCR in my my 11 channel system. Really happy with the way it works. BUT no good for 2 channel audio. So, I have a two channel in there as well, so 5 speakers plus two subs across the front.

  • @CraigFlowersMusic
    @CraigFlowersMusic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ooh, I need that hybrid changes thing so I can stop watching tv with the subs flat, because I like them around 4dB hot for surround but also like the crossover at 40 for stereo and 80 for surround. For a while I was using a buttkicker in the couch, and that was fun for surround but ruined music so I got rid of it. Might be fun to try again if it could be used only for surround.
    My system is also wired in with a PA, as can be seen in my more recent content. So it's part 2.2, part 7.2 and part 24-channel PA/recorder/interface. Similarly my guitar rig is dual mono AND wet/dry, and it gets more complicated from there. So a single solution for all different sub configurations (three in my case), would stop me from having to settle for zones 1 and 2 (true bypass and surround, respectively) having to share sub settings and then the other tied in system unable to access that sub.
    Anyway thanks for this video; this very topic is something I've been stumped by for years. A friend recently acquired five identical rf-7s, but I am dead set on heritage. I've seen more examples of triple La Scalas than anything else, but Cornwalls are so charming too LOL When I finally make up my mind I'll be old and grey. Meantime these monstrosities I designed and built, are pretty special I must say. Very different from Klipsch though! Ribbon tweeters (Raal Originals), acoustic suspension mid (6" Morel) and woofer (13" Scanspeak Revelator) through a gen 1 Sunfire. I built my sub too, but you didn't ask for my life story so what am I doing?!

      Haha - no problem. Thanks for watching, and for the life story! I feel the same about LS and CW. Trey uses LS as LCR.. I always go back to CW though. Whenever everything else is out of the studio, it's typically CW filling the void and sliding back into that hole.

Use the Rc-64 which is have in mind or change that to one more Rf-7? Money is no problem with this system i am getting. Have anyone tried that combo? Or do most people use the RC-64 with the RF-7´s.

    I've got a set of Fortes. A month ago, I bought them from a guy who gave me a single Heresy with the Fortes and he used the Heresy as a center channel for HT. We watched John Wick 3 last weekend and I just had the Fortes hooked up, no center channel. I found out why he was running the Heresy as a CC. Don't get me wrong, I could hear the dialog fine, but it was more laid back. The imaging you get with music was not there, it was different. I've got to figure out how to wire that Heresy in with a 2-channel amp somehow.

    Wow I've been running a "hybrid" system for 28 years guess I was ahead of the curve. LOL 🤣 by the way I love the reference skinny tower, but I like the 3 way sound of heritage stuff. It's why I love my legend series. Bought my KLF-20s almost 26 years ago and still going strong with them. It's why I wish Klipsch would bring this series back. They are great for a hybrid system and keep that heritage type 3 way sound.

    What would be the best subwoofer match for the LaScala? A DIY horn-loaded TubaHT?

    • @Mudcat3434
      @Mudcat3434 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. TubaHT is by far and away the best match for HT or music with La Scalas, however, you need a gigantic room (both space waise and sound wise) to make the most of it so for most it is not really worth it. If it is for pure HT I personally have two Rythmik FV18s in a 3.2 setup with my La Scalas Fl and FR with a Crites Speaker CS-2 as center (basically a heavily upgraded Heresy I which is better than the new Heresys as it does not have a port on the back). They are almost as large as the La Scalas and they are very quick and fast. Great for music too, but if you are just listening to music I would go with horn loaded.
      TLDR: Absolute best for any application provided you have the space and a large enough room to get the full effect, TubaHT. Music only Quality Horn Loaded subwoofer. HT that can't take advantage of a TubaHT, a VERY large very fast radiating subwoofer such as a Rythmik FV18 or a PSA TV2112 or a JTR Captivator.

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Technically a horn loaded sub will match the air impedance of the horn loaded La Scala bass bin, and is therefore most correct due to that alone. However assuming you cross it over halfway low and blend the levels, I had good luck with simple designs that are neutral and accurate such as the SVS PB-2000 pro. One of those in a corner did surprisingly well.

  • @Dagwick
    @Dagwick ปีที่แล้ว

    Not exactly a "heritage" question, but since panning a cross the LCR seems the biggest issue if you can't fit/afford a 3rd heritage for the center, have people used 3 centers as their LCR (with L & R tipped on end)?

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's been done and they will work. The speakers don't really know what they are designed for...they just play the signal sent. That said, will it sound the best? Probably not. The centers are designed with dialog in mind. They don't have the same cabinet volume or drive components of the larger floorstanding units and aren't tuned the same either. Additionally, the horns will be in a strange location if not propped up on something even if tipped on the side. If you aren't wanting to go Heritage as LCR and need a more traditional style, bookshelves or floorstanders tend to be the better alternative.

    I know everyone says 3 identical. I think that is way overused mantra. In my experience is it ideal? Sure, but get a Heresy with the exact same tweeter and midrange driver as your La Scalas and KHorns and you just aren't going to tell a difference. I speak from experience having had 3 La Scalas up front and now have that single La Scala in a separate room due to living room setup/restrictions with the TV; and now run a Crites CS-2 as center (Basically an upgraded Heresy 1). Same upgraded CT120 Tweeter and KG55G/2 midrange driver as I have put in my La Scalas. Zero difference. Now at some point if you turned the volume up to reference level and beyond the La Scalas would overpower the Heresy, but if you are listening that loud you won't be listening to anything for long and if you do; you won't have to worry about whether they are seamless cause your hearing will be shot anyway. Point is match the timbre, but they don't have to be identical. Also, buy used and use Crites upgrade components/have him rebuild/replace the crossovers which are better anyway and save yourself a ton of money.

    • @PaducahHomeTheaterTV
      @PaducahHomeTheaterTV  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can't hear the difference in a fully horn loaded bass bin sitting in a corner with the tweeter and squawker at ear level, vs. a direct radiating woofer with everything sitting near the floor? The fact of the matter is that a lot of movies have voices and other effects that dance across the screen, which can appear to come out in between two speakers, it can seamlessly and slowly be followed across the screen, on the same plane. You will never get this effect without three identical speakers, there will be some sort of compromise. The height alone in your example ruins the effect. Some movies would be more noticeable than others of course.
