    Makes you wonder why some audiophiles sweat over fancy speaker cable when the speakers are wired internally with ordinary zip cord and spade lugs.

    • @dennisjohnson1802
      @dennisjohnson1802 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The heritage generation IV have upgraded audioquest inside. BTW all speaker cables are not created equal. There is a point of diminishing returns, but lamp cord compromises SQ in a big way.

      Everybody hypes up what they are selling...even speaker wire which is a bigger gage than the wall plug on the amplifier. An Ipod can drive a K-Horn.

    When I want to party I stack my 80s Heresy's on my 80s Forte's backed up with a powered CV 15" sub , all brought together via a Marantz 2250B receiver. I stream from my I phone to the Marantz via iFi Audio Zen Blue V2.

    Own the H2's after my H1's were stolen back around 1988 when my apartment was broken into. Bought my H1's from the audio / visual store on RAF Upper Heyford in 1981 for, I believe $500 for the pair. They had Cornwall's, La Scala's & Klipschorn's at what would be an absolute steal today. If memory serves the Klpschorns were $3000 a pair. I would love to pair My H2's to a McIntosh MA5300, maybe some day. Just love these speakers, they're so crisp and clean and such a joy to listen to.

    If I had the budget I'd get these in a heartbeat. I've got a pair of Heresy II (in Cherry) with Crites x-over and tweeter upgrade. I put them up on short stands (about 8" and angled up) I have for JBL L112s. I've cycled through many speakers in my room including Spendor, B&W, Dynaudio, JBL, but I keep coming back to these. Even though they are a little colored sounding, they are also reproduce music in the most natural way. With a REL sub (don't be afraid to turn it up) and Line Magnetic tube integrated (KT88s) they are the best I can afford. 20 - 40 watts seems perfect. I like them better than the bigger Quartets. One day I'll upgrade to the IV or La Scalas

  • @designtaylor
    @designtaylor ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Excellent video, really appreciated the breakdown. I recently moved from the Heresy III to the IV. They are both amazing at their respective price points and offer differentiated listening experiences. The IV is more performant and presents additional clarity and resolution. Both can be driven with low wattage and seem to respond well to tube amps. I've run them with EL84, 2a3, and 300B amps and in each case the Heresy reveals the tube's respective signature. I've also enjoyed higher (barely, ~25) wattage amps from Decware, first watt, and Schiit. If you like a very "live" sound you can't go wrong.

    Although I am not recommending it, according to the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act of 1975, a manufacture cannot void the warranty should the costumer open up the product. The onus is on the manufacture to prove something that the customer did justifies the voiding of the warranty. The law applies despite any stickers the manufacture might place on the product suggesting otherwise.
    By the way, I am listing to this podcast through a pair of black La Scala, a pair I purchased back in 1984 for $1,600, still the best money I have ever spent.

      @thenitroshop9377 ปีที่แล้ว

      Head to head listening to music for 99% of consumers these Klipsch blow the doors off Dynaco and Magico, the difference alone in efficiency is ridiculous, almost any amplifier can drive these klipsch to produce window shattering low distortion high SPL operation, the Dynaco and Magico will need an Arc welder of a amplifier to even come close to have the same high SPL capability.. Just Hookup a Klipch Cornwall back to back with any of those other speakers and Klipsch literally makes it sound like a toy, the dynamics and high SPL capability are unmatched, its not even close .. Yes those other brands will produce a flatter more sterile line on a graph with a test tone, but what matters is how they play music and good luck outperforming these Heritage Speakers. At high listening volumes Klipsch are the king and even at low listening volumes the Klipsch are remarkably clear.

    I suggest a Dynaco ST-35 at 17.5-WPC. Or, a Dynaco SCA-35. Have fun. If I were nearby I’d drop off my ST-35 which you could operate full range or run just the tweeters with it and something else for the mids and lows.

    Great video! Sugden matches well with the Heresy IV.

    There are to many speakers now just as good at half the price, nothing to see here.

    Never cared for Klipsch spkrs, but they’re a consumer-grade product. Horn drivers are too bright, not smooth sounding. Got my vintage KEFs & Thresholds which deliver a certified Class A performance. Clarity & dynamic smoothness. Listen to equipment with your ears, not your wallet.

    Always play some music with the equipments in your video. It's not ideal, but it's much better than nothing. I get a lot of information I need from those demonstrations.

    This is almost the same system my father had in 1969. Back then the Heresy's blew away the JBL's!

    I prefer them sealed . I use REL subwoofers and prefer to add bass that way

    A 225 is definitely not punchy enough for the JBL. I have tried.

    I’ve only seen the Heresy online in black and cringed every time !
    I’m clad you’ve showcased the black, they actually look very nice and the grills really make for an amazing looking speaker!
    I bought a pair of vintage Heresy ll last year in walnut (not sure if they had different finishes then) and I’m driving them with a modern Yamaha A-S501
    in silver which not only ties with that vintage vibe but also sounds very clear and yet natural to satisfy the audiophile in me.
    I own ten pairs of different vintage speakers and the Heresy is my favorite.
    I can understand why it’s your go-to speaker in the warehouse!
    I enjoyed this video thank you!
