Joe is one of the finest master blues rock guitarists.
I'm surprised that there are people who haven't heard of him.
You have opened a very deep rabbit hole with Joe he also has surrounded himself with the best musicians and singers
His bass player, Michael Rhodes, passed away recently. He will be sorely missed. A talented man and a good dude. I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around that.
Excellent Bassist....he didn't look healthy in this video. RIP Michael and thanks for the memories
Such a wonderful player and one of those people universally loved in the music industry. RIP to a great bass player, a fantastic musician and a great person.
There are legends on this stage. Reese Wynans on keyboards from Stevie Ray Vaugn and Double Trouble and Anton Fig from David Letterman. And of course, Joe! B.!!!
Oh, and Michael Rhodes on bass... Check out his discography on wiko...lol
As well as Mahalia Barnes; she's amazing.
And Kirk Fletcher on second lead...phenomenal!
Joe is the man, listen to his acoustic concerts. Live at Carnegie hall is excellent
Billy Powell from LS is no slouch on the piano. Just sayin
Once you start listening to the great J.B you never stop
Simply put ..the best blues musician on planet Earth .. His stuff with Beth Hart will warp your mind
Welcome to Planet Bonamassa! More, more, more!
I love watching female backup singers. They never seem to get the credit they deserve.
the 1in he middle is Jimmy Barres daughter
Did ya notice that this song left him a little speechless? He really wasn't expecting it. Can't blame him, this was one totally kick a** performance. Luv'd it. ❤
Watch Joe at his Albert Hall concert.......every song is great!
Mr. Bonamassa is not only a great guitarist ( maybe the greatest ), HE CAN SING! So can that lady leading the back up singers, Mahalia Barnes. Great band! Reese Wynans on keys. Anton Fig on drums. Maurice Roades on bass. And great brass section. Hard to beat! Check out the double disc " Live at the Greek Theater ". Awesome show. "Angel of Mercy", "Cadillac Assembly Line", "Never Make Your Move Too Soon", "Let The Good Times Roll" (featuring Mahalia singing, AWESOME!) are some of my favorites.
I've had the privilege of seeing Joe Bonamassa live. He's definitely one of the greatest guitarists of all time and I've seen, SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, David Gilmore, Buddy Guy, Kenny Wayne Shepherd etc. Can I just say that not only is Joe one of the best guitarists but he's definitely THE best dressed guitarist of all time.
You are a fortunate man. You have seen live the best of the best guitar players. I would add in your list Gary Moore, in my humble opinion not so fine dressed like Joe (hahaha), but technically and soulfully in the top of the list of blues guitarists. Unfortunately he is still very underrated. However, Joe Bonamassa, apart from being a badass guitar player, has joined the _best_ blues band I have ever seen, it is simply perfect.
There are legends then there is joe bonammasa awesome ❤❤❤
That boy sure knows how to put on a show. Love the background singers and that entire band is fire. Wow!
I HIGHLY Recommend watching Joe Bonamassa' s performance of "Just Got Paid " that he performed at the Royal Albert Hall ... You WILL be BLOWN AWAY !!!
Indeed! I would however argue that he is ever so slightly more in tune when he performs that song at the Hammersmith Apollo! That was the song that really opened my eyes to the great JB by the way! :D
Joe is the very best blues guitarist alive and 2/3 of the world doesn’t know he exists. He tours constantly as well. His band is phenomenal and they always put on a great show.
Joe don't do no bad , that's Joe's band and his backup singers all world class Musicians
Black Country Communion - Collide (Official Music Video) is some of Joe's best blues rock work. This band is absolutely incredible. Sounds like a “Zeppelin-Purple.” Every musician in this band is incredible, and everyone puts his mastery on the record. The groovy rhythm section of Jason Bonham, along with Glenn Hughes’s brilliant bass playing, the mystical keyboards of Derek Sherinian's "Dream Theater", and Joe Bonamassa’s soulful guitar playing are bringing the old blues to rock into reality, and, course, The Voice of Rock Glenn Hughes who’s never getting old - this guy is getting better and better, he will never stop, he is fantastic!!! So, another excellent album for Rock ‘N’ Roll music history.
Just listened. Great! I wish they’d stayed together. Or at least I wish Joe snd Jason could get another band going. From the little I’ve read, Joe snd Glenn did NOT get along. Ego issues on Glenn’s part?
@@helenespaulding7562 Yes, it's a shame. However, they left us with 4 albums. The live cuts are just as good. I don't see them getting together in the future. The first album was in 2010, so it was long ago. I would be surprised if Glenn Hughes's voice could still hit the high notes. This is music for a long road trip, for sure.
Reese, the keyboard player, was the keyboard for Stevie Ray Vaughan. Go ahead and go down the bonamassa rabbit hole, he's the best that is still alive, ever since Stevie Ray passed
I randomly clicked on this video and I'm glad I did, that was awesome!
Joe Bonamassa is a MUST !!!! ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
Reese Wynans still puts his keyboard on fire.
I bet SRV will be smiling from up above.
And johny winter too
Joe IS my favorite current artist.
I've been fortunate enough to see Reese play the keys as a young man with SRV, and as a world class veteran musician with Joe. Always memorable shows.
If you’re the best and you have the choice, why not play with the very best, alive, at the time.😎🤘🏻
@@scuppernog1 Reese started with the Allman Brothers, but Duane kicked him out when Gregg came on board.
You really need to check out something from the collaboration between Joe and Beth Hart. She is an amazing blues vocalist. Please check them out. “I’ll Take Care If You” or maybe “I’d Rather Go Blind”. Trust me, the fantastic choices don’t stop there, you will love it ♥️✌🏼😎
Ive already taken him down that Road and lets not leave out Id rather go blind . Ive seen both separately but never together its on my bucket list. He also reacted to Am I the one by Beth. Check it out sometime you will be thrilled
YES!
What👆said!
Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa are the absolute best together and by themselves . She's my favorite female vocalist ever and Joe Bonamassa is in a world of his own. He's one of the best guitarist that's ever lived
Beth is absolutely Phenominal. I also like Bekka Bramblet.
Eric Clapton is a big fan of his and has guested on some of his gigs.....not too shabby!
You must go see him live!! He will ring you out!
I think this is a first? Never seen anyone react to JB. Outstanding! That's Reese Wynan on piano/keys, Stevie Ray Vaughn's ex pianist/keyboardist.
Oh YES. Joe is the best blues living right now!!!
Fun fact his back up singers are legends on their own the young lady on the right is Jimmy Barns daughter a Australian legend.
Joe and John have done some great work together checkout their cover of Deep Purples Lazy th-cam.com/video/CCzqDIcyzSs/w-d-xo.html
Big fan of Bonamasa
You are one of the very few people who don't stop the music every 15 seconds so they can run their mouths. I am going to keep your channel for future listening. As a side note, get his "Live from the Royal Albert Hall" album. Your mind will be blown.
his concert at Royal Albert hall is the first time I heard him on opb, he's amazing, I went out and bought five of his cd's
The guy on the keys is Reese Wynans. He played with Stevie Ray Vaughn. I see Joe every time he tours and comes to an area near me
We see Joe B at least once a year and more if we can. His shows are high energy fabulous!
Just saw Joe at the hard rock in Hollywood Florida. He put on one hell of a show. There are no words that could express how great he is and his band members. He is truly one of the best!
Since you know little if anything about the Blues genre, welcome to the greatest form of music ever created. You are in for a lifelong series of musical treats that are ... indescribable. You just have to experience them! The blues is the basis of literally all modern music. That is why so many people gravitate toward it so strongly, especially as you grow older. You realize that all the genres you have listened to previously, with the exception of rap and hip hop, have their glorious roots in the blues. The other two may have a smattering of the blues but will not last long enough to matter when all is said and done. "Mountain Time" from Joe's 'Live at Albert Hall' in London 2009 is a must hear, if I can offer you a most choice selection from his repertoire! 🎸😎👌
Thanks for the reaction. Joe has many different bands as they evolve over the years. You are seeing him collaborate with Beth Heart. His voice is phenomenal. Most of the time the band isn't that big. Those were special paying homage to the great blues players. I think this was in 2015. Redemption is more blues rock. 🔥💙🥰
Don't know if you've reviewed Jimmy Barnes, the Australian rock and blues singing icon from the band Cold Chisel but two of the backup singers in this clip that are on the right-hand side of the three female singers are Jimmy's two eldest daughters. Both have solo careers of their own to varying degrees of success.
Joe has done some fantastic work with Jimmy you should check it out
The pianist is Reese Wynans, who played keys with Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble. The drummer is Anton Fig, who was the drummer on the David Letterman Show with Paul Shaffer and the World's Most Dangerous Band.
I'm pretty much a hard rock fan and didn't discover Joe until 2018. Saw him in concert in Montgomery, AL and it was great from start to finish.
He is now one of my favorite guitarist regardless of genre.
Most excellent- Cup of Joe! Blues Man!😎🎶
Love his song "let's drive"
Him and Beth Hart are a must.
Sal…if you get a chance to see him live GO! He is touring allot, so probably you’ll get a chance soon. Don’t miss it. One of the best concerts I’ve been to. He is a superlative player who has his own style, but also can also sound like Hendrix or Page or SRV. A master of his instrument. Thank you to your patron for this! More Bonamassa please!
The entire show is great song after song. He’s so good.
The keyboard player is Reese Wynans, The Allman Bothers' original organist who was replaced by Gregg Allman.
He then went on to play with some guy named Stevie Ray Vaughn
I love you didn't interrupt that awesome tune
You could do a Bonamassa month and I would be there for every second of it!
Great reaction from the opening chord ans all the way through.
Joe is AWESOME!!! Have seen him 3 times. You should check out Ana Popovic & Kenny Wayne Shepherd, both awesome guitarist s, song “ Sexy Tonight “. Another great blues rock song.
I WOULD MIC DROP COMMENT, BUT YOUR BONAMMASSA JOURNEY HAS JUST BEGUN😂
Joe Bonamassa was a child prodigy, at age 9 he was already in a band with guys 20 years older than him, by age 12 he was touring with BB King. He is considered one of the top 10 blues guitarists in the World. Another song from this same concert you will enjoy is "Breaking Up Somebody's Home" live at the Greek Theatre. You should also check out Joe Bonamassa & Beth Hart "I'd Rather Go Blind" live in Amsterdam, "Close to My Fire" live in Amsterdam. There are so many more, he has an extensive catalog. Out of 15 albnums he produced himself, 13 went to #1. Please review more!
Some other rockers by Joe are John Henry and Just Got Paid (cover of ZZ Top song). He blows the roof off with them! Sloe Gin is another. And for a gorgeous slow song…Mountain Time. There’s an official video of Just Got Paid at the RAH in which Joe does a bit of Dazed and Confused…including with a theremin!
Thank you for not stopping mid-song to offer an opinion,Joe and this band has everything ,horns, piano great percussion, rhythm sec etc.etc.and i love the chicks workin' it boy.......!!
Joe's awesome!
SalvoG, this is actually pretty tame for Joe….You hadn’t seen Bonamassa before, but you have done two pervious reactions for BETH HART with whom Joe has collaborated with for 3 studio blues and soul cover albums in 2011, 2013, and 2018. There’s a phenomenal DVD of their concert in support of their 2013 Grammy-nominated ‘Seesaw’ album. Joe now has 25 #1 Blues albums on Billboard-every time he puts out an album, it debuts at #1. Right about the old guy, as others have mentioned, he is Reese Wynans who had joined Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble in 1985 (and Joe in 2015). Joe always plays with top players, often in a 9-piece band. Even the “background” singers are top shelf singers in their own right…. Here’s a list of 8 suggestions for JOE and 8 for BETH & JOE together:

JoeBo has had more number one blues albums than anyone in history, including his mentor, the late great BB King, 25 to date. He constantly reinvents his music but still remains loyal to his blues base. This keeps it fresh. Up there as one of the top guitarists on the planet. As a person he is a very humble guy, and runs a charity called keeping the blues alive, which has raised over $1million so far
I was surprised how he skated over the fact that he was the support act to BB KIng aged just 12!
one of his prettiest and deep songs is called mountain time
if you liked this check out Joe Bonamassa Riding with the kings with one of his backing singers Mahalia Barnes taking lead vocals like her father Jimmy Barnes she is a powerhouse
Joe one of the best I ever heard on electric
Joe just has to be the most perfect blues player ever it does help that he’s got the most amazing players around him awesome ❤❤😂❤
Joe is simply Phenomenal. And his get togethers with Beth like others have said are truly tremendous. Hello Salvo ❤❤
Reece Wynans is the Keyboard Player ... He was the Keyboard Player for Stevie Ray Vaughn's band - Double Trouble .. He is also in the R&R Hall of Fame
REESE WYNANS
"Keyboards"
Reese Wynans was a member of the Second Coming, which, from November 1968 to February 1969 also included two future and founding members of The Allman Brothers Band: guitarist Dickey Betts and bassist Berry Oakley.
Wynans joined Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble in 1985, playing keyboards on Soul to Soul and In Step and played with the band until Stevie Ray Vaughn’s tragic death in 1990.
This is hands down one of my short list favorite live performances of all time. Molten Lava 🔥 hot. Horns, killer guitar work as usual and dude on the keys just nuked it
Joe is a powerful force.
He does two Keeping the Blues Alive at Sea cruises a year. Spring in the Caribbean and late summer in the Mediterranean. The line up will knock your socks off. Going, again!
That's the reaction I would expect from that song cause it was my reaction as well! Love the reaction when he finally comes onstage! It's like, WOW!! BTW, the guy on the piano is Reese Wynans! And doing a fantastic intro !
Welcome to the Bonamassa world.
Bonamassa is a fantastic artist. His singing was not a strong point early in his career, especially on his first couple of albums, which are more blues rock than his other albums. However, he has worked on that and is now a fantastic singer too. Look into Pain and Sorrow, Mountain Time (Live), A New Day Yesterday, his Dust Bowl & Redemption CDs, Ballad of John Henry, Sloe Gin, This Train, Mountain Climbing or his work with Beth Hart or Black Country Communion (Deep Purplish). He just has so many great songs, a lot of which he composed himself.
Live, he will totally blow you out the doors!
Hes touring now coming here to NY very soon
He is one of my favorite guitarists along with Joe Walsh, Eric Clapton and Tony Joe White.
Joe you are Nr One. 👍🤟😁
Im glad you liked my request. I first introduced you to Beth Hart and now her soulmate Joe. You have to checkout some of the many songs they have done together In case no one has mentioned it yet that guy on the keyboards used to be the keyboard player for Stevie Ray Vaughn Ive seen joe 3 times and every show was great. Love the backround singers :)
I know Rojas the black bass player. But who’s the older white dude? He fantastic too!
@W. Geoffrey Spaulding Michael Rhodes is on bass. Top drawer! I believe Rojas was rhythm for "Live At The Greek". I have the DVD.
Reese steals the show on this one, can't get enough of this song. You need to review Jeff Beck's 1972 version on the Jeff Beck Group albumn for context.
This was 2015. He just scored his 28th #1 blues album Live at the Hollywood Bowl. He's played in 3 piece, 9 piece and all between. The album just released he is backed by an orchestra!!!!! You should hear his voice now ❤️🔥! He is called the Titan of blues because he has stretched it in so many ways.
The performance you just watched was a special tour the did called the 3 Kings Tour. BB King, Albert King and Freddie King.
Yeah boy....the brother is feeling it! Good reaction bro! 😎👌
Reese Wynans on keys. I love him and shows his talent on many of Joe Bs songs. He was keys for SRV back in the day!
Mr. Reese Wyans on the keys . Stevie Ray Vaughn's keyboard player when SRV was still living . Joe Bonamassa is one of the best guitarist ever !
6:09 Dude this song it wasnso like heaven badass music rock 'n' roll🎸✊✨🔥🔥
shout out to the band and Anton figg on drums from letterman try John Henry next aliha
You should also check out Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart perform I’d Rather Go Blind. She is an equally mind blowing singer.
Loved your reaction. I’ll be checking out your other reactions!
Check out “Hummingbird “ live…if you want unbelievable guitar that’s the song to listen to…
You should check out High Water Everywhere from the Royal Albert Hall concert. Awesome double drummers.
That's Reese Wynans, former keyboard player for Stevie Ray.
I ran across him few years ago and he is off the chain few months back seen him in biloxi for 2.15 mins he did not let up
I love all three especially gary moore
Joe can really sing not just good but really really good 😊
Bonamassa did an awesome Zeppelin medley, live from Prince Albert's Hall, which is truly one of his best pieces of work.
I think you mean Royal Albert Hall. Prince Albert to be a brand of tobacco.
Bonamassa by far and wide regarded one of the absolute best guitarist on the planet by other premier guitarist. I had the good fortune to see him several times starting out when he was starting out to places that held maybe 100 people. Now he’s rockin the Royal Albert Hall, red rocks, consistently selling out and always with top notch, as the one reviewer noted legends on the stage playing with him. Always a phenomenal show when he tours in your area and he tours every year you have got to go see him
You should check him out on Live Fom the Royal Albert Hall.
Or his work with Beth Hart...
That concert is a KILLER…..gobsmackingly good.
I always appreciate your brother the way you break things down and the way you did Led zeppelin. You finally got the Joe Bonamassa! Now you have to dive deep into him. And you must do Joe Bonamassa with Beth Hart songs like. I'll take care of you. I'd rather go blind. I can't wait until you get to these my brothers. Until next time, stay well, and popping for fresh
Going Down was a track from the Jeff Beck Group back in the 60's or early 70;s!
No, it was originally done by Freddie King, 1971. It was done the next year by Beck as a cover.
Gotta hear Joe and Beth Hart “I’d Rather go Blind” from Live in Amsterdam. Also Joe and Jimmy Barnes doing “Stone Cold”.
Thhats my next request
"blues Deluxe" Rockpalast will absolutely blow your mind.
Joe is so Damn Smooth.
One of the backup singers is Jimmy Barnes' daughter. She and Joe did a song, riding with the king.
IMO, now that EVH has passed Joe is the best alive on guitar! Yes, he was a Prodigy and checking out Joe isnt quite enough, You have to checkout his stuff with Beth Hart, who was also a Prodigy. Those 2 are the King and Queen of modern Blues. "I`ll Take care of you" is a good one to start with! Also, checkout his Guitar Duels with Eric Gales!
