The great Reese Wynans stole the show in this one! I got tickled when I noticed he was sitting in an office chair on casters, swiveling back and forth between the piano and organ! 😁 I love that Joe lets his band shine, he has some fantastic musicians. Anton Fig on drums, Michael Rhodes on bass… and the backup singers are wonderful too!
You could see the impact Reese had on Stevie and DT. They were re-invigorated upon his arrival and the creativity was getting off the charts great. Just a tragic deal all around.
It is refreshing to see Reese get props! What a career! Such a great performance. I hope to see it in person soon. This whole performance is one of my favorites from Joe, to the rest of the musicians to the back up singers.. I think that is Jade Macrae in the middle. ❤🔥
The keyboard was SRV's keyboard player - Reese "Swatters" Wynans. And yes, Joe is still touring - and yes, you need to see him live - he is a great showman.
I’ve been playing for 38 years and can confidently say he’s the best blues guitarist on the planet right now. He learned from the best. Not a lot of people know he played with BB king when he was just a kid. Who knew what kin of monster guitar player he would become.
Wife here..I really admire anyone who can play Lead Guitar....While singing lead..".He brought the heat"..Amen BJ..!!!...That piano is 🔥FIRE 🔥..Thanks for the Great selecti
Well, he's got experience performing I would say, knowing this guy toured with and opened for B.B King in 1989 aged all of 12. And has been doing it ever since. Very underrated guitarist I'd say.
My dad got me started listening to the blues at a very young age, people like BB King, Buddy Guy, and Howlin Wolf. Later I got my dad listening to Stevie Ray Vaughan, ZZ-Top, Eric Clapton, etc. I only discovered Joe Bonamassa in the last couple of years. He is definitely one of my favorite blues guitarists.
Love Joe Bonamassa and the stellar group of musicians/singers he surrounds himself with. Absolutely mind-blowing! Thanks for the reaction. You might enjoy his song "Redemption."
Still touring 😅😅 like 200 + shows a year, blues cruises, European tours. Joes motto is “Always on the road “. And on his days off he shows up and gigs with other bands. Joe loves to play.🎉
Joe was a blues guitar prodigy as a child, and he played with and was mentored by the likes of BB King and other blues greats. So yeah, he's the real deal.
He stated the one who motivated him to learn guitar was Frank Marino (of Mahogany Rush) and Steve Vai said the same - Johnny Winter praised Frank also - watch Aint Dead Yet or check Frank live at Agora Theatre
Just to add to what others have said, seeing Joe in concert is always an elevating experience. I have seen him three times and I swear, he gets better every time! "The brother on the organ" is Reese Wynans, a living legend himself. Formerly of the Stevie Ray Vaughn and Double Trouble band.
I had the privilege of seeing Joe Bonamassa live last year. He's one of the best guitarists on the Planet. I've seen Clapton, Robert Cray 3Xs, Buddy Guy and I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th1990. And now I can check Joe Bonamassa off my bucket list of great guitarists.
I saw Joe live in 2010, he puts on a hell of a show. I first found him by accident going down the TH-cam rabbit hole one night and found one of his old live videos from the early to mid 2000's and was blown away. The more I watched the more I had to go see him live.
Joe Bonamassa plays it all, but is one of the top 10 blues guitarists in the world. Absolutely amazing~ If he comes to a venue near you, GO! Another good one from this same concert is "Breaking Up Somebody's Home" live at the Greek Theatre. Love your reactions!
My husband and I saw Joe live in March 2023, have tickets to see him next month/Nov 2023, and tickets for March 2024. He's always got new music coming out, and his shows are very dynamic. He doesn't talk much; instead, you get balls to the walls blues rock. Btw, he gives every person on stage their own moment to shine. You can tell they all love each other and are having a good time.
@@jenniferhearn4117 Yes, couldn't agree more! Check out her dad, Jimmy Barnes and Joe Bonamassa's collaboration, 'Stone Cold'. It's awesome! Blessings!!
Mahalia Barnes is the daughter of Legendary Australian singer Jimmy Barnes who Joe has collaborated with on the hit Stone Cold which reached no 2 and Lazy. Mahalia also sings with Joe on Riding With The Kings. So Powerful.
He's on tour rn. Saw him in march, going again in december. His concert is one of the most amazing experiences in life. You leave a different person if you really love music, like you guys do. No opening band, he plays 2 hours, just perfection. They dont miss a beat, The singers are amazing also, One of the singers does a mini solo , sounds like an angel.
Joe’s live shows are always incredible!! Everything about his shows are top notch, from starting exactly at 8:00 every night and playing for well over 2 hours with just a three minute break to being surrounded by some of the best and most talented musicians there are. As others have mentioned Reese kills it in this video, but he always brings it, just as he did previously with SRV!! Joe is one of my favorites, as are you two, Asia and BJ!! Keep bringing on these great reactions!!👏👏
Joe plays Blues based Rock... with a lot of Soul. The keyboard player is Reese Wynans. He played in Stevie Ray Vaughan's band for many years. This song was made famous by Freddie King aka "The Texas Cannonball"
You gotta watch one more from this Live at the Greek theater concert, called “Angel of Mercy“. It is another great performance. Actually, this entire show is fire.
We now know what you get when you put a group of people together on stage who are the very best at what they do. JB the best blues guitarist alive. Reece Wayans , the best blues keyboard player alive. Mahalia Barnes as A Backup singer for god’s sake! Not to mention Anton on the kit. They couldn’t do anything that isn’t pure 🔥. I’ve seen them twice and would rather see them again over any other group of musicians. Oh and Joe is “always on the road”. I have the T shirt that says so.🇺🇸🇨🇱🤘🏻😎
Joe does a duet with a guy who is never mentioned anywhere, named John Hiatt. John is a prolific songwriter along with being à guitar player and singer....Check out "Down Around My Place". 👍😍
I'm Joe's fan and I was curious to watch your video. I have to say that I loved this reaction, you guys don't talk all the time during the video, no excesses, just sit back and enjoy the music like normal people do. Keep it up.
Joe does not come to Canada much but I have seen him 5 times over the past 20 yrs and I never miss him when he does play. There is not one disappointing song he does and each time brings new musicians with him. Anton Fig, Reece Wynans, Michael Roades, are all legend's, And Joe is as well.
Thank your customs officers in Upstate NY. The last time he toured Canada, they demanded a huge levy on what he might sell in merch. He sent the truck back and never returned. 😂
Bonamassa's great, and a great version of the song. I always associate this song with Jeff Beck. Beck's studio version (probably live in the studio) came out in 71 or 72, the album with the oranges on the cover, and it literally used to make me laugh out loud that anyone could be that audacious on an electric guitar. Maybe that won't translate to 2022, but you should give it a listen some time, keep in mind it was 1971.
The Jeff Beck studio version, especially in the context of 1970 or 1971, is the definitive version. This Bonamassa version is nice but we heard it all before. When Beck's version came out we were hearing a lot of this for the first time. The ignorance of the hosts is grating.
Joe grew up listening to the great blues artists. He is a blues guitarist (and one of the best of a generation which included Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jeff Healey and others). His little friends all wanted him to listen to rock/pop, etc., but, for some reason, Joe, from childhood on, just FELT the blues. He's great -- even though there evidently aren't that many blues fans today.
I remember when he was a child prodigy... playin' the blues like he was a very old soul... I can tell ya'll he is holding back 90% of his total talent... on this song right here...cuz if he cut it ALL loose... he would literally slay the audience every time ...lol
Sorry for the long post, but warranted. The talent pool here cannot possibly get any better: The drummer is Anton Fig (David Letterman's band), Keys is Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughn), the bassist is Michael Rhodes (J Cash, W Nelson, EL Harris, S Nicks, E John +many others), the trio of background singers are world renowned, Mahalia Barnes, Jade MacRae, and Juanita Tippins, the sax is Paulie Cerra (S Wonder, RL Jones, L Ritchie, +many others), the trumpet is Lee Thornburg (Tower of Power), The hole is deep (15 studio albums and counting) A few must listens: Trouble Town, Blue & Evil, You Upset Me, You Left Me Nothing But the Blues, What I've known for a Very Long Time, I Gave up Everything, Redemption + many, many others. Yes, he is still touring. Go see him b4 he gets old. I saw him last year in Virginia Beach and he did not disappoint. Fantastic reaction, TY. BTW, that other guitarist is Curt Fletcher. Joe lets him shine from time to time, but not in this song.
This show at the Greek Theatre was the last show on his "Three Kings" tour, where he featured the music of Albert King, B.B. King, and Freddie King. Blues, baby! Caught Joe in San Antonio last year, and the wife and I are driving 5 hours to Midland, TX to see him on November 16. Got 4th row seats!
Joe is a very talented musician and his base is the blues but he has stepped it up and gone into some very dynamic crossovers. Someone mentioned Mountain Time live from The Royal Albert Hall, but you can find it in an acoustic version live in Vienna. Check out his recent songs as well as his early stuff and when he crossed into a ventures with Black Country Communion some real dynamics with that group you can see his influence. Two songs that come to mind : "Song of Yesterday" and "The Battle For Hadrian's Wall -l live". Some of his other interesting work include off his Royal Tea album "When One Door Opens."
Glad you enjoyed the comment. Joe is the kind of guy that will share his music with you., Contact him on his home page, he watches other peoples reactions I heard.
Joe is a blues adherent. Many of his songs are covers of blues masters like Albert King songs (I'll Play the Blues for You, Breaking Up Someone's Home.) Reese Wynans on keys. Started with the band which would later be called the Allman Brothers Band, and then later with Double Trouble with Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joe is touring. He has a new album out. Joe organizes the annual Keeping the Blues Alive Cruises.
If you get goose bumps they're doing it right!!! I'm a huge SRV fan and seeing Joe play with his band makes me think of him. He can play for sure and the man on piano is Reese who played in SRV's band Double Trouble. I love seeing all the instruments, dancing ladies in the back, black, white, whatever. Everyone making beautiful music together. ❤
Reese is the most underrated musician and most sought after pianist there is to this day. For The Love of God!! P.S. This is REAL MUSIC!!! The individuals, and I will not mention them because it would take too much time who call themselves musicians should all be ashamed, embarrassed, and should never, ever, ever, ever call themselves by that name!!!!! This is what it's all about. By the way this is a Freddie King original!!!!! He is a legend that never got the true recognition that he deserved!!!
The wonderful thing about musicians is that they're color blind. They don't give a rip if you're black, white, brown, green, purple - they couldn't care less. All that matters to them is what you you sound like. Music transcends race, creeds and politics. So glad you guys discovered him. Rock on.
My favorite little nerdy bumpkin who turns into an absolute beast on stage. You should check out when he visits Norman's rare guitars and is just himself. You won't even believe it's the guy you see on stage.
Come on, I always presume people know him but he's one of the most underrated blues guitarists out there. This guy toured with and opened for B.B King in 1989 aged all of 12.
Can’t pin a genre on Joe! He can play it all. Some folks are fortunate enough to find their true purpose, and this dude, was put here by some sort of higher power to play the guitar. One of the best to ever do it.
Joe plays every style of music, every one. He sings it as well. He’s probably the finest single musician touring today, yesterday and tomorrow! Having the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan’s keyboard player is a Coup like you almost can’t measure! Reece Wynans. Yes, Joe still tours, and he takes tour bus rides between gigs!
He's considered Blues, and he slides into rock with ease but stays anchored in Blues. He's been around a long time; opened for BB King when he was 12-13 yrs old. One of his back up singers is Mahalia Barnes, the daughter of rock singer Jimmy Barnes. She's incredible and has her own band as well but always comes back to sing with Joe.
For those who are not familiar with the keyboard player is Reese Wynans. He was the original Keyboard player for what was about to become the Allman Brothers Band. When Duane called up Gregg and told him to get his ass back east Reese was out. He eventually became the keyboard player for Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double trouble. After doing quite a bit of session work and touring with other bands he ended up with Joe Bonamassa. Incredible player.
The organ player is Reese Wyans SRVs organ player. And the backup singer on the far right is Jimmy Barnes Daughter. Check out Stone Cold with Jimmy Barnes and Joe Banamasa
I've been playing guitar for over 50 years. Seen most of the great guitar players live. Joe is a bad man. I saw him in NYC a few years back. He can play whatever he wants.
I saw Reese at Austin City Limits in Austin in "86" with SRV. Joe is incredible blues man! You have got to see the man in person......he puts on an incredible show.......seen him twice live!
Released nearly 5 years ago, Mindi Abair's "Pretty Good For A Girl" featuring Joe Bonamassa will NOT disappoint! Mindi hasn't gotten the exposure she deserves. Seriously worth a reaction. Anything Joe B. releases is GOLD! Pick any video!
IMO…..best blues/rock guitarist playing today…..and I know Beck and Clapton are still, playing, but Bonamassa is in his prime. His shows are AMAZING……5th row center a few years back. My ears rang for a couple of days. It was worth it!
Just finished watching your TH-cam episode of Joe bonamassa doing the song I'm going down, I've seen Joe bonamassa three times and every time I've gone I can't believe what I witnessed he is the most incredible guitar player I've ever seen ice, and I've seen some great ones including Stevie Ray Vaughan and Stevie Ray Vaughan is unbelievable also but you need to go and check out one of his concert and I guarantee you you'll walk out of there saying to yourself what did I just witness, Joe bonamassa is freaking amazing and his band is unbelievable so tight, and the keyboard player the older gentleman playing the keyboards used to be the keyboard player for Stevie Ray Vaughan, enjoy the music of Joe bonamassa you'll never be more amazed at what this man can do with it guitar
The back up singers are a well known group on their own the one on the right is Mahalia Barns daughter of Australian artist/singer Jimmy Barns. She works with Joe a lot she did the duet with him Riding with the kings.
Reese Wynans on keyboard local boy from my hometown. I saw Joe Bonamassa 2 nights/concerts in a row recently.... everything I could ever have wanted. 🎤 🎸 🎶 🔥 Saw Beth Hart recently, too. Another wow performance. 🎤🎶🔥
JOE BONAMASA'S INTENSE PICK ON THE AXE AND HAMMERING RITHYM SPARKS GREAT INCUMBENCE IN MUSIC. LISTENING TO ALL INSTRUMENTS AND TIMING IS OUT OF THIS WORLD AND BLOWS UP THE CHARTS. JOE BONAMASA SMOKES THE STAGE!👍👍👍👍👍
Mahalia Barnes one of Joe’s backup singers is the daughter of legendary Australian singer Jimmy Barnes and she is quite a successful singer in her own right. Her duet with Joe on Riding With The Kings is such a powerhouse performance and Joe has collaborated with Jimmy on Stone Cold which peaked at no 2 and Lazy.
He’s mainly a blues guitarist, he plays all kinds of music. This tour was The Three Kings tour, it’s all music from BB King, Albert King and Freddy King. This show is at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles California. I was fortunate enough to be at this show. Great reaction you two 👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Love Joe Bonamassa, my favorite song would have to be Reconsider. great blues song with incredible lyrics, riffs, and his voice "to me" has a soul like no other in his songs

The pianist/organist is Reese Wynans, the first keyboard player for the Allman Brothers, and then who went on to play with Stevie Ray Vaughn.
The wonderful thing about musicians is that they're color blind. They don't give a rip if you're black, white, brown, green, purple - they couldn't care less. All that matters to them is what you you sound like. Music transcends race, creeds and politics. So glad you guys discovered him. Rock on.
He was playing on stage with B.B. King when he was like 12 years old. One of the best!
He is touring he was just in Italy and Greece and the USA!!
My favorite little nerdy bumpkin who turns into an absolute beast on stage. You should check out when he visits Norman's rare guitars and is just himself. You won't even believe it's the guy you see on stage.
Still touring every year. He gives me goosebumps too!
Jeff Beck made this song famous and cudos to Joe for paying homage to Jeff with the piano intro
You have to listen and watch just because you can don’t mean you should. Outstanding
Freddie King and Jeff Beck both do killer versions of this song as well.
Love Freddys' live version of "Aint No Sunshine"....
Eric Clapton, with Steve Winwood, Willie Weeks, and Steve Gadd does a nice live version too.
Freddie Kings version is really what put this song on the map in the blues community
Jeff Beck's the original I think - but his version with Beth Hart on vocals is killer
@@paulmorris8762 Don Nix is who originally wrote the song
What an amazing performance.
And yes Joe bonamassa is touring all the time you can see where he's been on Instagram and what cities he's touring next.
One question...and it is for the concert audience. How do you keep your seat in this musical onslaught of pure soulful and bluesy goodness?
You don't! Get up and move!
Saw Beth Hart recently, too.
OH YEAH! THE TORCH HAS BEEN PASSED AND THE BLUES WILL NEVER DIE!
He’s mainly a blues guitarist, he plays all kinds of music. This tour was The Three Kings tour, it’s all music from BB King, Albert King and Freddy King. This show is at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles California. I was fortunate enough to be at this show. Great reaction you two 👏👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Yes, he still tours. Check out his website, he list dates and has tons of merch, vids and music posted.

Love Joe Bonamassa, my favorite song would have to be Reconsider. great blues song with incredible lyrics, riffs, and his voice "to me" has a soul like no other in his songs
Asia - yes he is still touring , I have tickets to see him in March 2023 in Pittsburgh .
Old blues I think originally Freddie King performed that song, then Jeff beck, J B does a great rendition.
7:29 The keyboard player is Reese Wynans formerly keyboard player for Stevie Ray Vaughn naff sa
I knew the name!
Thanks for helping with the connection!
Some SRV peeps have been with Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
Reece is still touring at 76. I’ve seen Joe a couple times, outstanding.
Joe B. definitely still tours...and his concerts are AMAZING!!
Let's don't forget reefs with the great piano player for Stevie Ray also
This was the 3 kings tour all the songs played on the tour was either written or recorded by BB,Freddie or Albert King
