I cannot get over how incredible this bike sounds.
Loving the sound on this much more than the stock R18's sound. This has more character to it.
it has more bass. Sounds more like the American cruisers. I was surprised to hear quite a big difference to the Standard R 18
@@Schaaf Yeap, I jumped from your previous R18 video and compared the two. The bass does wonders, really. While I do agree that it sounds close to an American cruiser, you can still hear the difference thanks to the boxers compared to the typical V-twin of an Americruiser.
I like that tone as well. I wonder if the Vance and Hines exhaust sounds like this bike.

@@genesisguadalupe7425 althought this sounds different than v-twins, its not too far off. At first i didn't like its "even firing" but i kinda like it now.

I'm so glad BMW gave the world a new cruiser, and one with a big engine at that. I love the fact this bike's looks got so much legacy, so much DNA that dates back to their products from the 1930's, even though it packs 21st-century tech.

That soundtrack is grate but the star of this vidoe is the road!! Wow what and epick pice of tarmac! Plus for some reason I prefer the sound of the R18 Classic to the First edition. Not to mention the looks of the exhaust tips is much improved on the classic as well. Once again it is a pleasure to watch You connect!! Keep it up 👍

Schaaf, another great video. The location was excellent. I understand you are running the engine through the gears for the fun factor and the sound. I hope sometime in the future on one of these videos you can take a wee bit of time in high gear and let it lug down to the lower end of the rpm range and accelerate in top gear. To folks not used to riding motorcycles with such huge amounts of torque at near idle this seems very strange but the sound is impressive. It is also an impressive ride when one can do that, much like driving a car with a big American V8 engine from the past.
As always your recordings are fantastic. I believe this is in no small part to your great work with the throttle, I feel like I am riding the bike in your video.

i actually like the sound of this exhaust vs the normal one. also i wish they could release some performance cams, intakes, etc. etc. so it could sound more thumpy thumpy

It is comfortable. But the legs indeed are further back compared to most cruisers
Hey @Schaaf, love your videos real harmony to watch. I’ve seen your video on how to get good audio, but it doesn’t cover the settings on your H1, and its getting quite old so wanted to check what your current settings are?
Recording audio format? 46/24 or 96/24?
Low cut frequency? 120? 160?
Limiter on or off?
Auto level on or off? If off, 1-10?

All the settings I leave untouched. I use the highest available quality and the input level always varies from bike to bike

@@Schaaf Great video! I have got another question tho: What export setting do you use to export your video? I know the video's are 4K but do you export using CBR or VBR2 and what Mbps?
@@Schaaf Really failing to get even close to as good sound as you despite the same setup so must be the settings? Right now I have 96k 24bit, off, off, off, with input level on 4. Can you confirm you use the same? That should be untouched from factory reset. Thanks again much appreciated.

From one Classic owner to another...👌🤙 Regarding the buffeting, after trying multiple windscreens, I determined that it's air from below, not over the top. I added wind deflectors from Memphis Shades (USD$99) and couldn't be more pleased.
It was a press bike that I rode for half a day ;) Thanks still!

Did they not put a quickshifter on this bike? I got to ride one of these on a test ride day in the US and it had a quickshifter

I have the Classic and it's very much in the same riding triangle as other touring machines. The only thing I'm replacing immediately is the seat with a Corbin touring with a backrest for her, stock is only good for 1 hour then my butt hurts. The passenger is a joke, small and hard, NPI.
How was the windshield? Have read mixed reviews on the stock R18 windshields. What was your take?

Hi Schaaf, I live in Málaga and know these roads. The bike looks awesome and sounds even better but you can't lean at all. Footpegs scratch immediately. If you are looking for a big and beautiful cruiser with a great sound just to go slow and enjoy the landscape, this is your bike. But if you want to do twisties and have some dynamic ride, this bike is terrible. Triumph Rocket 3 is perfect for that and even more beautiful. It depends on what you are looking for.
I'd take the XDiavel if I want a sporty cruiser. The new Rocket 3 is way too sterile for my taste. But it's a great bike for sure

is the seating position comfortable for you?? I travelled almost 1.5 hrs to literally just see this bike, and I like literally everything but the seating position. When I sat on the bmw r18, I kept naturally pushing my feet forward and when i sat on the bmw r18B i did the same but not as much. Its not necessarily uncomfortable, but its not comfortable.
My friends thought i was insane to travel 1.5 hrs to see on bike for 20 minutes and drive back. I cant legally ride it yet sadly. Although ive been riding for about 1 year.
The Classic felt very comfy to me actually

If BMW put a full fairing it would be tons more tolerable over very long runs at high speed.
Any length of time spent over 80 mph with a fairing that rattles your head will detract from the experience. Plus it protects the rider from bugs and debris better.
