Quick tip for the 1050 I’ve learned with this similar issue drop the contrast and display right out the box I believe it comes in at about 60% I drop to 20% the stats would over heat and just constantly reboot like that and we would be back in 6 months warranty replacement. Once we figured that out have not replaced one in 2 years. Sometimes we would throw it in the freezer for a few minutes to cool it down until we got a new one. Hope that helps! Good stuff!
By the year 2050, they might be able to make machines that cool a house and remove moisture! In 2022 they have some cool color touch screens that hang on the wall, and they sometimes even work!
That was a quick and easy diagnostic. I assume if the thermostat was good but the D conductor for some reason had a break or disconnect, the thermostat would boot and display something about no signal? 200 units in stock, eh? Good to hear the supply chain is in order for that item.
our trane smart thermostat was turning off or rebooting (takes FOREVER) repeatedly during hot days. i did the lower-brightness thing. which helped - a little. but finally i threw up my hands and picked up an entry-level nest thermostat from home depot. installed it in under an hour and everything was back up and running WITH NO reboot / shut down ISSUES.

yes it would boot up and show an error code of bad communication.

Nice to hear a success story!
No signal happens to me with trane thermostats but when they work fine they are great thermostats self setup normally
I owned one for 2 years no issues
So you swapped out for a new thermostat? I am having the same problem.
yes once I replaced the control/thermostat operations resumed normally
