There are extra characters and symbols underneath the shown keyboard characters. Hold on the keys and it will display these. Not all keys have extra characters. I find the 0 held is nice because you can get to the temperature (degrees) symbol. “°”

Unbelievable, as an old guy I consider myself pretty savvy with computers. But this blew my mind. I didn’t know any of the features you showed. Just happened to see you channel. I’ll have to watch several more times. Great job. What else do i not know. Getting old is exciting when you can learn new things.

I believe it’s so much fun now for a few reasons. One, we’re too tired to hiking and the such, and for the second one I’m speaking For Me, I will learn something “New” that I already knew….just forgot. 😂😂😂 I have to take screenshots with my phone if there’s quite a few steps In completing a task. 😏 😊

Switching between the regular keyboard and the floating keyboard with a long press is a game changer for me, serious thanks for this video. Please keep the iPad videos coming. I find your voice soothing and your explanations helpful and easy to implement.

I gather some folks didn’t know about the swipe down feature on the keyboard. You could also mention that some keys, if pressed and held, pop up any accents that apply. I don’t know them all, but pressing and holding a gives 11 accent options, e gives 9, and n produces four accent options.

Turning screenshots into PDF's is a game-changer. Great job pointing out who simple the task is to accomplish. I need to try that on my iPhone more often because I forget the feature is even possible. Same goes with full page PDF's.
    Keep up the great work!

I always find it interesting how many videos like this point out how people can use things in the accessibility settings. It just really goes to show how the things needed for disabled people to function also benefit everyone else, and yet we still have to fight for it because it’s seen as a burden and extra work for a small amount of people

I just finished leafing through all six hundred and some pages of the user guide for my new iPad and found quite a few things I hope to explore further, which I took screen shots of and put them in photos for reference later. I found that most things it can do I am not interested in since at 84 I have narrowed my hobbies to those I really enjoy.

For keeping extra bookmarks. Top right of screen press the square with the arrow then press add to Home Screen. Can store hundreds of bookmarks that way. Can also group bookmarks together by dragging them on top of each other. Can also type in a new lable for these groups of bookmarks.

I am in despair. I was delighted with your comments about the floating keyboard and how to get rid of it because I’ve been trying for absolutely ages and I have just resorted to shutting down the iPad and opening it up again. I had tried the pinch thing but it didn’t work. Somehow after your video I went back and tried the pinch thing and it did work miraculous. So I’ve been pinching out and pinching in gay abandon for the last week. But now it doesn’t bloody work again, is there any workaround like for the full size keyboard?

The one that surprised me the most was adding the peripherals. I’m going to save this to review it a a couple of times to get all of it.
Which program do you use for working with PDFs?
FYI locals never call it San Fran or Frisco, either. SF is okay or the City. But that’s only good on the West (left) coast. I’m a former Californian living on the East coast now. The City here is New York; Portland is Maine, West coast is Oregon and Berkeley is Berklee College of Music in Boston not UC Berkeley.

The swipe down on the top row (keyboard) is very handy and also explained by sometimes I accidentally type a number. Now I know. The scan to PDF is really handy. Especially when my third-party scanning apps misbehave. The ability to turn a messy circle, square, or other basic shapes into a "perfect" shape is a great thing to know. The corner gesture is also very useful. However, the ability to press and hold the keyboard icon does not do anything on an iPad 6th gen. Glad I watched this video. I learned several new things today. Once I have spare mice, I will try the trick. Thank you.

AWESOME, I mean, I‘ve got a M1 Pro and M1 Air 5, as well as an iPad 9th. Gen. but didn’t know that "Scan a Document" isn't just possible in Notes, but in "Files" as well. Not to mention, the feature: Open a new Window in the Split View menu. And I‘ve got and using iPads about 10 years now, starting with the iPad Air 2 in 2014.
I guess, a little less content consumption and a little more creative working, might actually be beneficial. On the other hand, did I learn english through content consumption, since my mother tongue is Swiss German.
I really want to THANK YOU, for Your awesome videos

Giod job. There were several things I learned. Changing marks to designed shapes will be really useful as I mark up pictures all the time. Thanks

Thanks for this great video on iPad tips. Some of these tips look very beneficial and I'm implementing them immediately. More videos on the iPad are very much appreciated. Thanks

Good video. I didn’t know about the features in the screen Shot editor, or making a PDF document from the files app. I’m curious as to why your iPad doesn’t have “Stage Manager” in Settings, Multitasking & Gestures “ I have an M1 IPad Pro 12.9 inch model, and I can multitask up to 4 windows with the Stage Manager feature turned on. I can have overlapping windows, resize any window, move the windows around (somewhat ) but Apple seems to override the locations on the windows. Anyway it allows me to have Safari, Mail, files, TH-cam or any 4 apps I want in a Stage Managed group of 4 apps.

1:51 Another useful thing is to tap and hold on a key, to get alternative characters like accented characters for foreign languages (ėẽēęěêèéë on the e character for instance). Also the degree sign ° is on the 0 button.

Just made me remember that I have got an iPad that I always forget to use, like my Mac mini, only use it to do software updates now. I must admit the iPad is the most used of my apple products. I only use my iPhone for 2fa for when working for companies, I have had Mac 1U server G4s but never really used them because I do not like MacOS. I must try harder to like them. I think now I am near retirement I will buy my last iPad as my current one probably needs an update. But for me Windows 11 with WSL (Kali and OEL 9) is what is my daily drivers.
    Useful tips, Thank you.

What is this “top button” you refer to? There are several emblems at the top of my screen but no buttons.

If you're using the Microphone you can open Control Centre and tun on the voice isolation.
If you use the webcam, you can turn on the lighting and portrait options
