  • Welcome back to Auto Transport Intel. In this episode, I talk to Phil of DKO Industries. He knows all about ENCLOSED VEHICLE TRANSPORT because he's been working with special vehicle moves for nearly twenty years.
From high end luxury cars from foreign imports to confidential prototypes for major auto manufacturers (also known as "OEM"), he has seen it all. Oftentimes, this includes VIP personally-owned vehicles (POVs) and show cars for trade shows that must be delivered in total perfect condition at a certain times and specific location - door-to-door - hundreds (if not thousands) of miles from the original pickup location. #enclosedtransport #OEMautohauling #enclosedvehicletransport
While ENCLOSED AND OEM TRANSPORT may sound daunting, there is good news to be had and lessons to learn from this Enclosed Transport Business Veteran.
Please enjoy this 5-minute video, like, subscribe, and comment below. Thanks for watching!

⚡ Enclosed Vehicle Transport might be the best method for transporting OEM Cars because brand new cars need to arrive at the dealership in mint condition. Like this interview? ⚡

      Great video!
Really appreciate the content. I’m interested in starting an enclosed car hauling service. I have many questions regarding recommended Equiptment and what to expect when getting started. I may also be interested in initially working under an experienced company’s authority.
Would love to find an experienced mentor who can show me the of the business.
Can you point me in the right direction?

That's very nice that you're cutting your videos, because there is a lot of good information that the people don't see when they don't have the time to see your full content.

Running off central dispatch...Is it better/easier to run a semi with a dropped frame enclosed trailer or pickup with an enclosed trailer?
I ask because with a semi and pov cars...getting into neighborhoods would be pretty difficult and i assume there would be restrictions.

Im referring a 3 car enclosed trailer.

I would agree about a smaller trailer running off load boards, but I would pefer if you talk with Ty about load strategy before making your decision. His number is 417-483-2764. I hope that helps.

Be honest. How much do you shave off of any driver's single potential earning per load ?

Thanks for the comment, Maximus. Am I to gather from your question the presumption that I (or someone else) is taking something from a driver rather than providing a revenue-generating service? If so (to answer such a question), I'm personally no longer a dispatcher, and therefore not shaving any driver for 6-10% per load. Now those drivers are hiring somebody else to shave them.

Now if you're talking about brokering, then you're talking about folks that created relationships that get paid for doing that service. For the record, I agree that no broker should make more than the carrier.

Delivery is 5 to 7 days delivery no delivery date is guaranteed

And yet, you'll regularly find delivery contacts tapping their foot and looking at the clock even though "cheapest car shipping" was how the transporter was chosen.
