If there is anything that I have learned from people who have become successful, its that they have a breaking point where they need help. It is so hard to ask for help or even to receive help without your asking. This man in his success has never forgotten how he got where he is. I hope God blesses him even more.

I always sucked as a salesman because I always gave people "a deal" but at the expense of my own profits. I realized soon sales was not my thing. But I am still open to learning from people around me that are good at that.

This was a good interview. Lots of good info. I've actually pulled two oversized flatbed 16 ft wide cross country and it was EXTREMELY eye opening how much goes into it behind the scenes, as well as the endless challenges that arise with routing and permits. I also think its underrated how important a great pilot car team is. I'm definitely living in the wrong part of the country to be able to take advantage of oversized and heavy haul freight more often. Super competitive and cutthroat up in the PNW.

But I'm honestly over paying major bills at this point. I just want to stack up, maybe find a business to start, purchase inexpensive property outside the country, save up for a used Lamborghini and keep it pushing. I'm a loner by nature so I don't think I'll have a problem being in the truck plus I'll bring my dog with me.

Hazmat DOD high security freight is the most lucrative in the entire industry, because not only deos it require all endorsements plus TWICK, it requires a security clearance up to top secret. Heavy haul is definitely not the most lucrative. Currently leasing, im doing $210K per month average teaming with my wife. The average load pays $60K, $40K on the low end and $90K on the high end on less than 2,500 miles per week. Why is it our people aren't talking about this, anything that requires federal agents combing through your past, family and friends is like a plague to us. I haven't seen a single brother leased on to the company I lease with.

I really like this guy! I knew I liked him from the jump, but I definitely knew I liked him when he said something that I say all the time. He said he didn't wanna give the knowledge of cheating on the permits bcuz we wanna keep the highways safe, especially bcuz his family drives on these highways. That reminds me of myself so much. People wonder why I'm so quick to help truckers that come thru my city(Washington D.C.), when these drivers are sitting in the middle of the freeway all bcuz their route took them toward the tunnel that says 13.0. Little do they know that the tunnel is really 13.6 minimum. Nevertheless, it's a sharp curve right before the tunnel that people speed around often. You won't see that truck sitting there until it's too late. I have plenty of family and friends that drive these freeways and roads here in D.C. So, ya damn right, I always stop to help the truckers who don't know that route. I do it to protect the people I know and those that I don't know, too! I also like to remind other truckers¼ and mechanics to do the job right, especially if they are working in their own city bcuz they have family in that city. If you don't fix my truck properly all bcuz of my skin color or bcuz you are lazy, and something falls off my truck, etc, it might be their family that gets caught in that accident. Nevertheless, this guy seems like a good wise guy! I would actually like to drive for em and learn from em, too!

Im on try #2 as a o/o but i learnt a lot from the first time. I run step deck doing basically only oversize loads now. Permits and understanding them along with fuel cost per loads are a pain, never a sure thing how much fuel your going to burn.
