      Yeah, it’s a defect in that make and model. Benefit is that the defrost works a lot better that way, lol.

      @@project1511..... Wish you had shown the ICM install.... did you mount the ICM, "dry"... or did you put a coating of either a "thermal paste" (If so, what kind?), or a silicone Dialectric grease (aka "Tune-up" grease)? Thank you and Lord bless you & yours.

    Mine has a PO300. I've changed spark plugs and wires, and both O2 sensors. Flashing check engine light.

      So I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP supercharged and I've been getting some codes as well. I've changed the spark plugs I've changed the spark plug wires I've changed the ignition control module. I've changed the PVC valve and recently I just changed the crankshaft positioning sensor which solved the misfire but I have noticed that I have also been having the flashing check engine light. I've heard so many different things that it could be. One of the things that I have found out which might help you is the coolant temperature sensor when it starts to go out it will throw an inaccurate reading of the temperature of the car so even though it doesn't seem like you're overheating your actually close to the engine blowing from it being too hot you might want to start there. Hopefully that solves the flashing check engine light but here's the thing also is my GTP has almost 300,000 miles and those engines are pretty notorious after 265,000 when The check engine light starts flashing it means catastrophic failure.

    Thanks for the information... You still recommend the LeSabre? You know the difference between custom and limited version? Thanks!

      It’s not necessarily the LeSabre Per Se it’s the 3800 engine. It’s one of those “bullet proof” motors.

      @@project1511 between the 3800 engine and Toyota Highlander 2008 V6? Which one do you recommend? Regarding reliability, cost of repairs... etc.

    • @project1511
      @project1511  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That’s a tough one, I am not familiar with that specific vehicle but I am a fan of Toyota in general they make good reliable cars/trucks. I have owned many Toyotas myself. My uncle had a similar year Highlander and loved it. Toyotas are typically more expensive to repair if you’re comparing like parts. I think I would personally pick the Highlander.

      @@project1511 thanks for your answer. Since i 'm from Minnesota the 4x4 is a plus...yes... these are more expensive to fix. Your channel is great! Regards

    When you scan the car it shows any codes????I'm having the same problem with a buick but it misfire a lot but no codes

    • @project1511
      @project1511  ปีที่แล้ว

      Misfires don’t always throw codes. At the time, I did not have a code reader so had to do a little testing and trial/error.

    Mine has a p0304. Which is a mis fire, where should I start?

    • @project1511
      @project1511  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I am not mistaken, P0304 means cylinder 4 is misfiring. Double check by pulling the cylinder 4 wire while the engine is running. If it doesn’t make a difference than that is your misfire. Next, exchange the coil with another one. If the misfire moves it’s probably the coil, if the misfire doesn’t move, it probably the ignition control module. Good luck.

    • @thecoloradohitman5858
      @thecoloradohitman5858 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would start with changing out your crankshaft positioning sensor because when that starts to go out it throws a bunch of codes and cylinder 4 and so under three misfires are a common occurrence especially after you replace the spark plug spark plug wires and the ignition control module and including the coil packs

      If you have a misfire, it’s typically going to be spark plug or coils.
