Boy, Wasteland 3 is great! Having never played the Wasteland games before, this was an utter blast, best RPG I've played in a while - and the music was AMAZING!

I've had my eye on this game for quite a long time, loved the second game but never played the first.

Now the stranger started talking made it plain to folks around
Was an Arizona ranger wouldn't be too long in town

To the town of the patriarch came some strangers one fine day,
Hardly spoke to folks around them, didn’t have too much to say,
No one dared to ask their business, no one dared to make a slip,
For the strangers there among them had brownings on their hip,

This is instantly what I thought about
he came here to take an outlaw back alive, or maybe dead;
he said it didn't matter he was after Texas Red.
Wasn't long before the story was relayed to Texas Red,
but the outlaw didn't worry, men who'd tried before were dead,
twenty men had tried to take him;
twenty men had made a slip;
twenty one would be the Arizona Ranger with the Browning on His Hip.
The morning passed so Quickly it was time for them to meet,
It was twenty past eleven when they walked out in the street,
Folks were watching from the windows;
everybody held their breath,
they knew this handsome Ranger was about to meet his Death.
There was forty feet between them when they stopped to make their play,
and the swiftness of the Ranger is still talked about today,
Texas Red had not cleared Leather, for bullets fairly ripped,
and the Ranger's aim was deadly with the Browning on his hip.
It was over in a moment, and the folks had gathered round,
There before them lay the body of the outlaw on the ground,
oh he might have went on livin', but he made one fatal slip,
when he tried to match the Ranger with the Browning on his hip.

i love how cold blooded rimmy is compared to other let players. while some people would try and go through the good route. rimmy just straight up go for what he likes, says a one liner and laughs about it. i guess thats what happens when you grow up with grimdark.
I always go the good route simply cause being mean makes me feel bad.

@@Aereto Well, Kenshi can be easily beaten by just having a solo-character who is insane at stealth, lockpicking, assassination and thievery. Cats are never a problem when you can just rob stores at night for literally EVERYTHING, knocking out all the guards if there are any.

The bigger problem is actually managing the inventories and abilities of large squads. That's why I far prefer being a lone wanderer, my only construction being a small base inhabited by a ton of security spiders from a mod who need no food. Only have one inventory and skill list to keep track of.
@@Kaiimei Thievery is not needed tho. Knocking out all the guards to rob a store doesnt require thievery at all.

I would think you would enjoy wasteland 2 rimmy, most of the lore for the desert rangers in the OWB mod for HOI4 is pulled directly from that game
@Mikê'e Stark nope. In fact, the desert rangers of fallout nv are in reference to wasteland's very own rangers.
@Mikê'e Stark I think all in all some of the lore is ported from Wastland Desert ranger.
but if you play the Old world Blue mod for Heart of Iron 4.
what they did was they took the general lore for Fallout 1, 2, Tactics(maybe), 3, New vegas, Probably later will add from 4.
and then they took the lore from Wastlander for the desert ranger faction as they dont conflict.
The lore was in fact ported from Wasteland to Fallout.
Back in the day Wasteland was supposed to be fallout but then some legal disputes and they lost the license to "Wasteland"
So they packed up and rebranded as fallout with a lot of the exact same lore and a lot changed.
One of the things that stayed was the desert rangers.
@@courier665 A lot of the same lore? I'm pretty sure the only stuff that got carried over was the post-nuclear apocalypse in the near-ish future with some sci-fi elements, taking place in/around west coast America, and the desert rangers.
@@Wazzen563 I never said everything was ported over. A lot of stuff was changed in name but a lot stayed in like Feral Ghouls and other enemies.
And I meant more from wasteland 1 to fallout 1. Even a character or two exist by mention in fallout 1 that existed in Wasteland 1.

I do find it funny that the HoI4 Old World Blues mod basically copy and pastes the Desert Rangers out of Wasteland 2 as the Mod's Desert Ranger faction.
Even if they're from two completely different universes and their geographic location is very different from where they're supposed to be in Fallout lore.
the fallout universe was based on the wasteland universe. think of it less like "the Desert Rangers" from wasteland and more like "the Desert Rangers" from fallout who just happen to have familiar faces and names. the mirror universe rangers, if you will
+@@overboss9599+ I know that about the Fallout and Wasteland universes. Supposedly the whole reason Fallout is Fallout is because one of the creators from Wasteland refused to sell the rights because of how violent Fallout's tech demonstration was. Ironic considering that Wasteland 2 and especially Wasteland 3 appears to be More Violent then most of the recent Fallout games.
Well in Fallout, the Rangers in that game are a reference to Wasteland.
Rinny reminds me of that one video where the kid's running around the pool, his mother asks what's in his hand, and he just yells "A Knife!". I love Rinny.

He just casually can be outfitted with a 50cal upon character creation that looks like it shouldnt even be able to fire but somehow fires and sure the 90 plus pounds of the gun and it’s equally heavy ammunition sure it’s completely fine to be equipped and fired from the hip... WTF!!
There was a .30 Cal Handheld Conversion in ww2

Rimmy, I just wanted to say thank you. Your video here is what introduced me to Wasteland in general, and I played through 2 on the game pass while waiting for 3's release.
Needless to say, I am proud to say after my third completed playthrough I have never been more invested in a post apocalypse setting since my first journey into Fallout. Truly, thank you for introducing me to this series, because Wasteland 3 really left quite an impact on me.
That being said...would love to see your reactions to the rest of the game. Maybe a full playthrough is in order? :D

More please rimmy! this game is awesome! In case you didn't know, the original wasteland was the game that the og fallout came from. They made a sequel a while back, and now they're making another, which I'm really excited about!
Holy shit this is gory. Last time I've seen this much blood and guts in a game was when I met the Butcher in Diablo 1.
Also: The editing was good, especially the zoom ins on the weapons and the flashback at 9:37. It could use some more of those and some "random" ones like Angory Tom has in his TABS videos just to roll with the insanity of this game.
I don't know if this was cut from the edit or if you just skipped over it during the gameplay, but I'd love to hear the full dialogues and the answers your characters have as this seems to be one of the main parts of the game.
All in all a solid 8/10 would watch a lot more.

The video didn't require major editing for it to work, your humor and timing made it work perfectly enough. But the editor did a good job of not dragging or rushing anything. The video has a fine length and I was entertained all throughout. Edited for misspelling.

Seeing Rimmy playing this and his reaction to this kinda makes me think that he would enjoy Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden.
You can tell this game definitely has more polish! Them few character cinematics are well done too.
I played a lot of Wasteland 2 in early access; so much so that by the time the full release came around I lost enthusiasm for the game about 75% of the way through it.
Would you say it's worth playing? I got it on GOG for free a while back, but have no nostalgia for the series or anything.

My problem is that some of the fights are absolute bs, especially the one at the compound with Dugan where you spawn out the door and then get blasted because he gets 2 burst off and there's people all around

well done commisar rimmy you have maintained the holy tenents of the guard, you executed traitors, held the belief anyone old enough to hold a gun is a soldier, and further more you have taught them to suffer not to let the heretic live. all in all your review 9/10 excellent needs a higher attrition rate.
