- So this was the first time we ever played IL-2, and honestly, we really enjoyed it. I did find out about how the flaps actually work, don't worry, but also we got better at flying and shooting things. I've always been a fan of simulators, so the fact that we can jump into the same plane and screw around is great fun. Let me know if you want to see more!

Engine doesn't have enough airflow to keep itself cool and is worried about exploding into flames if kept operating at such a high power setting perhaps.
@@lolroflroflcakes Thats exactly it, he was climbing too steep to gain speed and had the throttle too high. Cant use takeoff/emergency power for more than a minute or so in the stuka.

The trick is Rimmy. Once airborne, raise flaps and reduce drag. Dive a bit to get some speed up. And then level. All without blowing up your engine.
Man this would have been a blast to take part In. Next time you Should try flying the PO-2 the Russian bi plane.

Rimmy there is another TH-camr, Bo Time Gaming, who plays this game a good deal with his crew. Even they have never entirely gotten the hang of this game. Just letting you know you’re in good company.

They did that a lot actually. Look around on TH-cam and you can find US Army animated training films on how to use an anti-tank rifle and other fun subjects
The best part about the WW2 cartoons is that in (presumably) most of them, Mel Blanc did various voices in them. That's right, the guy who pretty much voiced a majority of the Looney Tunes characters. That guy.

@@ValentineC137 My Transition from Ace Combat to WT realism to ARMA 3 to DCS is smooth, just do it one step at a time!

Anyway, improvement in DCS actually brought over to ARMA 3 and WT, the only thing loss is my instinct in low speed fighter turn combat, perhaps I should spend more time using WWII aircraft.....
I like how that one enemy plane was real chill, guided you to the boats, didn't fire, and even stayed around and watched while you fucked around with the boats at the end.

The funny thing is I saw that same cartoon a long time ago, and I never really put the pieces together at why I am (SOMETIMES) good at plane stuff in games.

Okay, but why is nobody talking about the fact that Rimmy somehow managed to damage the engines... Of a plane in level flight, well below the speed limit of the aircraft. Like the way that happened shouldn't technically be possible, and yet he somehow did it.
