Meanwhile we had a genji(while he was still super fast too) who was basically carrying, but leaving orb on our tank is the right thing to do?? So ridiculous

Yesterday I had QP push game where we started without support players, the game just didn't load any. Enemy team won 1st engagement and then they realized it was 3v5 situation so they stopped fighting us and we started goofing around. Later on our 2 missing support players joined the game and joined the fun too :D That was my favorite game of OW ever :')

Reminds me of a QP game of push in Junkertown I had after Thanksgiving. Everyone stopped fighting for a moment and talked about what they had for Thanksgiving dinner. It was lovely!
I had a qp game where an enemy wanted a certain achievement of whatever, so we all just helped him get it. It was fun just kinda running around, not doing anything. l
In TF2, this is a normal occurence in every games you play
I think that if you have a mindset that it's your fault you lost a game, you will improve so much more than if you blame it on your teammates.
Edit: I just realised this comment is a little confusing for some people. I meant more like you do a self reflection on what you could have done better, instead of thinking you are perfect and blaming your teammates for everything that went wrong.

I had a game where our dps told our zenyattas mum to fall down the stairs...because he died, as he solo rushed the enemy team as pharah completely out of sight lines of our whole team.
I haven't ran into that but that physically and mentally hurt me considering I've had a reaper yell for healing and ran away from me as a moria trying to heal him and went to my friend who was mercy.

As a side note yelling at your teammates, when they make mistakes, is a method of forcing people to internalize the mistake itself. Which typically results in high amounts of distress and, unsurprisingly, more mistakes.
lmao.. reminds me of one day i had a mad genji in one comp game. played as Ana and boosted him.. he failed claimbing a wall and when he finally got up, he presided to ult but died right away. We where far ahead with pushing the robot but he got so angry that he started yelling at me on voice telling me how horrible i am with Ana, blaming me for his fuckup. I tried to stay calm but the guy kept talking bad about how i played, so i told him to shut up but it just ended in everyone on team yelling at each other.. we ended up losing even thought it had been a easy win.
I feel like something a lot of hardstuck players need to realize is that the only commonality, in all of their games, is them. They are the only reliable variable to their games. So their best chance of success is to make sure that they improve because they're the only person who's gonna change their own career.

A lot of people also need to understand that let’s be honest there will be games where you if you want to rank up more or faster you have to get good enough to carry. Like you said you are the only reliable variable and while ideally in games like this the spread of responsibility would be about even that isn’t always the case and the only one you can guarantee to pick up the slack is yourself. If there’s a Pharah harassing your team while your playing support and your dps isn’t or can’t do anything about? Pick Baptiste and try to shoot her out of the air. Do you have a teammate who won’t switch off a character? It could be that they’re a one trick or that they aren’t skilled enough with the hero you are suggesting to turn the game around. The key here is sometimes you’re going to need to play around the mistakes of others if you want to win more games instead of expecting top 500 game sense and reasoning. Also make sure you’re actually using your comms for info and callouts and not just bitch or whining without any actual suggesting. Yes your Reaper might indeed be ass but like so? And the sky is blue. Is mentioning it going to make him suddenly the perfect teammate or help him stop his poor positioning. Instead of telling your tank he’s ass maybe actually think about why he’s dying and try to help him out via comms or gameplay.

I agree. What with all of the resources available on TH-cam from T500 players (not even just supports), I doubt he wouldn't know about Mercy's role if he was any good at the game. If he isn't rage baiting and actually believes this then for sure he is a new player that thinks he is better than he actually is. If that's the case then he should keep posting, it's nostalgic seeing people slowly figure out OW meta, like watching a baby learn that dirt isn't edible.

The more that I think about the change from ow1 to ow2, it was such a good choice to go to to 5v5 to put more work on the dps than just in the tanks. The best show of it is the matches on TH-cam of gm vs gold where each win for gm removes a player and how much they need to change comps and readjust

Double shield metas made me quit playing overwatch for a long time and I'm a tank main, tank feels so much better in Overwatch 2 being a whole miniboss instead of a shield bot made out of paper mache where once you ran out of cooldowns you just blew up
I mean yeah, OW1 made DPS useless before role lock. GOATS meta dominated and even after roll lock came in, double shield was dominant that only some DPS saw play. Now with the switch to 5v5, like you said the responsibility is now more on DPS and more DPS are viable now

Eh low rank is kinda more ridiculous than you'd think. Dps cannot hit shots ever so its like not that bad if you actually d boost properly both bc your dps won't do much and you probably won't die. I think sometimes it would be the right idea bc of the volatility. Nowhere near at decent levels of play

Hey Flats! You and most of the comments on your videos have been very helpful for me in learning what to do and what not to. Still got a long ways to go but gonna keep grinding and putting in the hours.
For me I remember my own mistakes more since that’s what I’m in control of. As a new overwatch player coming from other competitive games I used to grind, I found it just as beneficial in OW to look at “what I did wrong” instead of “which of 4 players can I assign blame to?” Even my best games where I still lose I could find mistakes or adjustments I didn’t make in response to my teammates mistakes or watch my own replay to get a better understanding of how the match was actually lost. Not saying you won’t get a tank that charges 1v5 with 20 deaths per 5 minutes and that happens but you have to be able to accept you are in that rank and if you are truly better than that rank you will eventually move up. Being able to acknowledge your mistakes in these games is valuable to climbing.
when Flats talked about sitting there and not talking because you would scream it does help because it made me focus more on the game then my teamates and helped me calm down so thank you Flats
Once I figured out as a support part of my job was surviving, I made huge gains. I learned to play angles much better and all my stats increased slightly but wins increased a lot.
It's funny how things can change with the right mindset when you take ownership for YOUR mistakes and why your team lost lol. But also this is why If I find myself getting tilted I just mute myself because that shit won't help anyone and my team doesn't need to hear that shit. That is also why I started going back and watching my games and seeing a lot of times I'm getting tunnel vision and making mistakes and while I wasn't the reason we lost, I also didn't help the situation enough to bitch about it. But then again I guess it's why I have a constant level 4 endorsement 🤣🤣I just wanna be a good teammate and have fun while winning lol
I can confirm what flats said as a tank main 2cp was a nightmare especially when the team wasn't In voice chat. It's why I'm glad some of my friends played tank after a while and saw what I had to deal with. They had a huge change of difference in opinion on tank is easy mode
2 cp was always close up tho, brawling in 2cp probably was my fav thing in ow1

@@vxughan This is very true. I type to avoid people getting tilted listening to a girl's opinion. The only time I on my mic is when everyone's doing well and we are winning and I just had a 4 kill on the feed and they usually greet me nicely when I make a sound.. It's especially worse in Diamond when everyone's ego is so dang high. A small callout and you will be the sole reason why they lose.
No I actually had someone yelled at me, like he was mad for no reason. Screaming at me to get off Brig, like bitch all we had was a bad beginning. We ended up winning lol.
I so agree with Flats on 2CP. I hated two cp as Zen, Ana, Baptise support, and Zarya, Winston tank. 2CP requires so much coordination to get through within a small time frame window and hope your team is on voice comm to make sure they are on the same page in route pathing and rotation.
Yeah 2cp sucked but at least it was fair though- you got to switch sides and take the advantages/disadvantages the other team had the previous round. In push, teams can control the obj for like almost twice as long as the other team and still lose. I just don't see how push is better than 2cp

I never played tank in OW1 and i didn't know 2 cp was that bad. What sucks is that the maps were so pretty and if they never come back with 2 cp i hope they remake the maps to fit the game modes they do keep and improve on
Even if I were to give that one dude the benefit of the doubt, focusing on what you can do better is how you improve, not on what your team does wrong. I have no control over the team I queue with if I'm going solo rank, so I might as well just worry about improving myself cause that's something I can control.
Flats best point about “it’s your fault not your team” is that as many times as you get a horrible tank, or a throwing healer, or an afk, etc statistically it’s probably happening in your favor as much as it’s happening on your team, so it likely evens out.
I was a bronze that almost always has most heals and most damage out of the healers, and I overall made smart plays and didn’t feed. I stuck with it enough and I’m at silver 3/4 in heals/damage now and I really don’t get to play a ton. I think I have 20 something dps wins and 30 support wins.
So hopefully I can climb to top of silver or higher before the end of the season.
It really annoys me when people say that they just can't climb because of teammates. In the two years I've been playing OW I've solo queued from silver to T500. You just have to keep playing and learning. Instead of blaming your teammates, see how you can improve. If you have 5 players on a team doing this, then you will have a higher chance of winning.
I mean there’s streaks of variance. Sometimes you’ll have a 20 game stretch where you do get fucked over by shit beyond your control way more than average. Just have to recognize that you also have stretches where the opposite happens and you get carried up a couple divisions. It all evens out

@@french_toast223 But you CAN learn to make that more of a non-factor in your games, if you cancel out the enemy's supports focusing and killing them constantly then the lack of heal from your supports is not important. It is obviously an oversimplification what I'm doing, but the point stands, you can always be doing something better than what you are doing, if you truly are playing perfect then you will climb to top 500 pretty fast really.
@@cris5555 Hard to get into their backline as a bastion, thats the other dps's job. Had a game last night with a good fucking mercy and I clapped everyones booty cheeks. Amazing what you can do when you dont play with a kiriko or moira that does more damage than healing.
3:13 Symmetra Concept; Imagine if she was a support and instead of having 3 damage turrets she had 3 turrets that healed Allies that walked close enough and did reduced damage to enemies.
The healing rate on them would have to be somewhat low, like maybe 20-30/sec, because that would otherwise be a bit too strong on some maps
They tried the healing turrets in an experimental and it didn't work at all. It forces your team to play around where you place the turrets, which means they can't reposition if necessary, specially in attacking payload maps unless you place them in the payload, which in turn makes them easier to target and destroy, leaving your team with less healing.
This also makes impossible for her to choose healing targets, and being able to prioritize who to heal is necessary for a support to perform well
@@lyzder7298I’d imagine they would rework her turrets and give her a primary heal. Maybe the turrets could be on a 4 second cooldown so you could move them frequently and they could have a little more health. I don’t know what you could do for the primary heal, maybe make her beam be able to heal and do damage like Moira’s coal? There’s a bunch of possibilities to change sym into a support and she kinda needs it. It would also be great for supports to just have more options in general.

As a concept its great, and she was fun to play too, support needs more heroes anyway, dmg turrets are just bad above wood rank and they're a core part of her kit, they can't just give her an smg and a combat slide instead

I always though it was just me that 2 CP expected so much of tanks. I swear 2 CP for tanks is like hey go and try to coordinate a push and if it fails it's your fault. I didn't know other people felt that way.

Recently I saw a Reaper who kept telling us to group up when we already were. Today when I played Mercy a teammate told me to heal them when I was already healing them.
He was probably going to ult and needed a grouped attack to distract enemy.
I think that first tiktok was 100% right, but I definitely understand why it's upsetting, like there was a day where I had nonstop losses due to people backing out, so I just didn't play, I think I also sometimes think that since I did good damage I did good, but I realize it's not the case, also, as a moira main I always laugh when people say she's broken, cus I know as a fact she isn't.

Symm wall doesn't make that much sense in a lot of ways, but I honestly really like it in her kit, it just works for me. What I'd like them to do is revert some of the TP changes so it's permanent again, but let her charge up a second one after she places it so she can place it down again and destroy the first one. That way she can set up reliable flank/escape routes for less mobile teammates, and also setup plays when needed.

As someone who played a little bit of Ana in OW1 I will say one thing about 2 CP: It was much more enjoyable in terms of vantage points. Like, in the currently available gamemodes I don't actually get a lot of opportunity to play the high ground because either the angles suck (not much you can do if the fight is directly below you) or the way to get there is so long that you can't feasibly go there without abandoning your team or you literally can't go there because Ana has no vertical mobility.
2CP had some map spots where you got perfect visibility which weren't a hassle to get to.
By comparison,a good Ana spot in OW2 is just a random bit of cover next to the street which you peak around.

1:04 NGL that happened to me yesterday, where i lost SO MUCH GAMES because of teammates either straight up trolling or AFK that i deranked from p5 dps to g1, and then i decided to play with some random guys stacking that were also gold, and won 7 games in a row, ranked up to p3, low ranked on consoles is such a miserable experience for solo players.

Calling ”diff” is a general issue with the player base. Its shifting the blame into the least performing player with out considering the other players performances.
I’m weird as I’m a support player who played Ana/Bap and I liked 2CP. I can understand your perspective on 2CP and why you don’t like it. But I can understand why a lot of people don’t.
I still despise Push though. Although that’s separate of my like if 2CP. Maybe it’s because I played a lot of groups but 2CP was interesting because of some of the strats, both cheese and non-cheese we used as Gold/Plats/Early Diamonds

reflecting on the poor games you had is important to grow as a player and can really help your overall skill level if you learn from it and adapt. you may have yhe odd few games where your teamate may be bad it happens but if you lose consistantly your adding to the problem and its not your teamates its you

Flats' take on 2CP was exactly what my last 2cp game felt like, second point anubis (we were on attack) there was literally 15 seconds left, my team mates were falling like domnios, so i said "fuck it" and charged into the point (i was rein, and keep in mind i charged through the main path under the choke) and then i had to survive one of their supports and one of their dps while being completely alone, i managed to kill both and just barley live long enough for my team mates to actually join, got just enough healing from my support to be able to put my shield down, hit a 2 man fire strike , got ult and slammed it , if i made even a SINGLE mistake, then taking that second point would've been impossible.
Yes, but even with its problems, 2cp was still "fair" in a way. You still got to switch sides and take the advantages/disadvantages that the other team had on the previous round. Push is just unfair as a game mode.
There should be no mode where a team can control the obj longer than the other team and still lose by a large margin

What if... we just move Symm into Tank & make her the true "I'm building walls" type of tank. Bring back her moving shield, make Turrets target allies & give THEM shields + shield regen, let her put Orisa barrier, lol (Or Ramatra's would be more fitting). Just take her "Controller of Hard Light" to the extreme. Perhaps you wouldn't even need to touch her Ult.
A shield Symm as a tank seems fun but she'd be functionally too similar to Zarya weapon wise, so they'd probably rework her greatly or just use a different hero to move to Tank role
@@nopeboat6436 well we had different type of attack for her primary, which was *THE SUCC*, they could bring it back, give it a slower ramp up & lower max damage for balance. Give it a 10-12m range & 20-30 degree aim (so probably like Moira's).
If no - there's nothing wrong in leaving it a beam as is. Zen, Kiriko, Ana (unscoped) basically have the same projectile for their primary attack. And unlike Zarya, Symm would be able to ramp up her damage independently.
I had a game where I remember that I was doing bad, I remember it because I knew I was doing bad and I was so tilted that I gave up, switched widow and muted everyone. We won 😂

Wait a minute. My support main is mercy and I remember going into a comp game. I got support and I immediately went to go pocket the sojourn for obvious reasons, and I do remember a fucking junk rat screaming at me to go pocket the road hog. I think this is the guy. BTW, he had 17 deaths and 1500 damage and ya I know I’m low rank I’m new but I’m learning and rising quickly after that even when I was bronze 3 I’m now gold 4 in 2 weeks (I main Cassidy)
As a solo support player, Moira is definitely not bad. I would even go as far as to say she has the best carry potential of any solo support because you dont need to coordinate her abilities with your teammates abilities as much as other supports. Tesla actually has a series where he goes from bronze to gm in 3 days by solo carrying with Moira

Moira or kiriko for solo carry. Recently been playing with a friend who's playstyle hes calling 'assassin kiriko' . Flank enemies, hard focus and kill supports, tp to team, rinse and repeat. The easiest games ive ever had . He carried us with impactful kills. His stats on scoreboard were low, but thanks to him we won those games.

Once i got in a game that my sup disconected, i was in trio with the other sup and the tank, and we mannage to win the game, big shoutout to the second dps who didn't give up and kept playing his best until the end
2CP was basically take the first point in 30 seconds then play team death match for 15 minutes
As someone who has mained Sym since launch of OW1, she is so close to being where I think she should be. Like I just want minor changes and QOL, BLIZZ please let me pick up/ recall my sentries. And also make her orbs do 120 dmg for .5 meters then decay to 90 so I can one tap tracers like in OW1... Also please blizz i beg you, why do i feel like my head as sym is the size of narnia.
As a sym lover I did some research and it seems sym is actually given a pretty generous head hitbox (along with Ashe and widowmaker weirdly enough)

Yea I thought the Supports' job was to always pocket the tank since the tank's supposed to absorb all the damage. After a few matches, I learned that my job was far more complicated than that and Mercy especially gets more value out of damage boosting DPS frequently than just being a heal bot. Damage always outruns support heals, so it's a great idea to get MORE damage
When someone screams at me especially when I have had a bad day I just throw the game. I look at it like the person screaming wanted to lose
Funny cause Ana also has a very direct healing, higher direct healing, frontline support kit with anti and sleep while mercy has a lower direct healing but amazing movement allowing her to jump from dps to tank to other healer to heal where it’s needed while Ana keeps the tank alive
I had a game very very recently where the tank absolutely went off on me because I was pocketing sojourn and healing the other support and not him . he got so mad that he actually quit we still won but barely
as a support player i always did emjoy 2cp. but i never did think about it from tank view, that sounds awful.
Telling a Mercy to “pocket a tank” hurt me.

Story time! So this was just a one off occasion but because I don't have the time to play Overwatch(maybe 2 hours a week most) the negative experiences feel like they happen way more frequently. It was first game of the day in 2 weeks, support main, and just wanted to play a few rounds of QP. My dps were playing Pharah and I think Widow, but I was playing Bap so I couldn't heal Pharah. I decided to switch to Ana after I died but because I didn't even warm up, my aim was off so I switched to Zen after a few more deaths. Now at this point my Pharah starts flaming on me. "Their Kiriko and Mercy have more healing than you! I don't care if it's your first game!" So that really pissed me off and I went berserk as Zen. I ended the game with 19 kills, 7 deaths while my Pharah ended up with 6 kills, 7 deaths, A NEGATIVE k/d! I even got PoTG with a game saving Trans and 3k. But even after all that he still talked all that shit. Some players are just awful.
ZedTheUndead is the guy I ignore while muting and rapid smashing the Avoid As Teammate option. Seriously, the only time I pocket my tank is when I have a Rein popping off in their faces after a fat shatter.
The ONLY time I pocket a tank is when I get the beloved crazy Reinhardt❤ I love the violence😂

As someone who has been playing since launch I would rather have 2 cp than push maps any day. I also used to duo stack tank so that probably helped.
A few weeks ago I played some 2cp when it was in the arcade, and I went in thinking I kinda missed 2cp. I did not miss it.
