I think it's almost essential for lucio players to use a mic. You control the engage, disengage, tempo, everything. I think you should call a disengage if ur tank is a dumbass, then speed him out. If they die, tell them that is entirely their fault.
@Mathijn Verkerk if the other team got 3 picks, you can back out and let them get a small amount of point progression but you and your team can re-enagage faster if you don't die.

The problem that I find speeding more is that the tank won't use the speed to back out at low play they will just keep charging in, die and then wonder why I wasn't healing them. It's frustrating.
You can tell him in vc if you get the chance. I tell tanks when they break los when I'm on ana.
Don't play bad because your team is playing poorly. Just let the tank lose his mind and let the feeder die!

I mean, if they were really that slow to see that they were that boned, then Lucio's heals weren't going to save them anyway.
As a dude who climbed from Silver to high Plat on Lucio, I promise you, the biggest problem in low level players that Lucio solves is this: low level players see danger/opportunity too late. If they saw it 1-5 seconds earlier they would have lived and/or got the kill. Lucio fixes that by speeding team-mates away from danger and towards opportunity. You do have to do a little bit of psychology to figure out which of your team-mates is truly brain-dead and which are thinking, but once you get into the habit Flats is talking about you'll absolutely clean up, I guarantee it. Yes, there are other tricks to rising with Lucio, but the key one is just speeding your team into doing the thing they should have started doing 1-5 seconds ago. When you figure this out, you become a kind of time machine where your players get to reset the timeline, only with better positioning.
And if you can't make that balance work or you think it's just your team-mates fucking up, sorry pick another support because Lucio just isn't that great a support if you can't use his speed boost well.

I got really lucky with it in ow1 when the orisa and Dva were just taking all the damage in the world and I could build up my ult in like 30 secs lol
2:50 This is SOOO true, I had a game where my Reinhardt completely fed into the entire enemy team and held shield and backed up when he was about to die, so I tried to use transcendence to give him enough time to get back, but that only made him run back into the enemy team, which caused me to get hooked off and him to die, losing us the game.
I played with a Rein the other night. No matter how many times our supports died that Rein would not go down. He held the front lines which lead us to a victory

Nah HEAL RATE? That's not even close to the problem with hog. The problem is 50% damage reduction, 1050 hp if you include his heal and a one shot combo!
And whole hog with the buffs is actually cracked with kitsune or nano
@Tear it Up yeah that too. His ult is honestly the only thing I don't absolutely hate about him because he usually doesn't have it being an ult but I do understand that it's a strong ult.
Hog doesn’t have a single bad ability that is it. The only thing he lacks is defence for his team and a smaller hitbox, both of which are completely negates by respectively being the most scary hero to face because of his one shot and by having an insane heal ability. The ult is just the cherry on top
the math goes further than that. A roadhog can theoretically get burst for 1400~ (700 health at 50% damage reduction) at the beginning of the animation, and then heal a further 350~ which is 700~ with the 50% reduction. so he effectively has 2100~ health cap while at full HP and pressing E

Holy shit I just tested with the wall jump setting turned off and immediately noticed wallriding feels smoother and more natural. Why the hell is that enabled by default

Yeah, I built my muscle memory around wall riding before they added the setting, took a break from overwatch and when I came back I thought my wall riding was just shit. I watched a karq tips video, found out about the setting, turned it off and realised I could wall ride like a Reddit Lucio, the game had just nerfed me and I didn't realise it.

I do hate when people say play quickplay to get good with a hero. its like no, you quickplay first to familiarize yourself with the hero and what their abilitys are then go into comp to get really good with it

I think the commenter that said to judge the situation on when to Amp heals or speed he meant to judge the situation based on positioning. If the tank is in a bad spot you should speed but if they can get to a safe spot then use heals.

I was thinking about a Hog rework and I was thinking about his hook being an option to save ppl.
You could hook teammates back into safety and when you do Hog places them behind him for a moment and gains armor. It’d be him shielding allies with his big body.
Take the healing on Hog’s E and reduce it to 275, but in return increase the damage reduction on it so it can work better with his new safety hook.
Hog can keep his ability to hook enemies, but lower his damage so that he can’t one shot ppl with it anymore.

all I'm saying is that if that guy at 12:45 wants moira's range down to 12 metres, I want a damage buff to compensate, her range is being almost halfed, so her dps should go from maybe 50 to 80 and self heal up to 40, maybe she should get some armour too like brig since she's more close range now? I think he would choke on his words pretty quick.

Had an Orissa player tell me that I can heal people as Lucio when he had a Kiriko healing him the whole time and didn''t know how to back off. He said it in match Chat too so it was an enemy player that responded and said how he's complaining when he has a support healing him. The worst part is I took out the enemy supports

Plesantly surprised with the Lucio tips due to the cesspool that TikTok is. Lucio is picked for speed boost compared to his heals I've had teammates complaining about being on speed too much it's valuable speed boosting especially teammates with poor mobility Rein, Orisa, Sigma, Cassidy and Ana come to mind.

10:25 The matchmaking system being able to identify smurfs is why unranked to GM challenges are almost meaningless. Almost immediately, the matchmaker sees "oh this person is doing 5 or 6 times the damage/healing of everyone else in their rank" and it proceeds to give that player the easiest games (the best teammates and the worst enemies) because, in the long run, this "ruins" fewer games for fewer people. As such, games in unranked to GM challenges grossly misrepresent the true feel of games at whatever rank the person is playing at before they're GM.

The jump on release for lucio is opinion based imo. I think most Lucios with a lot of time and experience wall riding prefer it off, although it might be better for those with less time. Backwards wall ride should definitely always be on though
You can do it sure, but it’s worse. When you jump off the wall your head stays in a set animation and distance every time. Good hitscan will headshot you. If you just fall off the wall you can drop to cover and hide your hitbox faster. It’s a preference absolutely, but one is no doubt better. Every owl Lucio plays with it off.

Funny thing about the MMR bit: I finished Season 2 on PC at the bottom of Silver because I don't play on PC too much (yes, I'm a console peasant, let's all point and laugh). But I started Season 3 in Gold for Tank and Damage because I did good in my games despite losing like half the time

The rank system confused me because I played OW1 for a hot minute played OW2 since launch. NEVER did Rank until OW2, i dont remember which season it was but i didnt play enough to rank that season, played enough Season 5 to rank and got Gold something (i think 4 not sure)
But the entire time i was getting out into matched with players who had Diamond titles or Platinum titles. I would never do horribly but it was so confusing to me that i would be playing with these higher ranks when i had never done ranked

My issue with comp is I feel like my gamesense is pretty good because I consume all kinds of educational content, I just don't play enough to be good enough to apply that knowledge in game. Sometimes I'll look back at my games and ask myself wtf was I doing. And then make the same mistakes later

The only blatant, egregious issues with OW2 balance right now are Roadhog and Sojourn being way too powerful, and Junker Queen being kind of abysmal.
Tighten those two ends and we'd have a pretty sick cast of options. But right now? Queen is a throw and Roadhog/Sojourn are instant advantages, even if you're not that good.

Here are my hot takes: most old heroes need a slight rework to be comparable to some of the recent heroes or the buffed heroes.
Soldier, widowmaker, mei, and zenyatta sometimes feel underwhelming in terms of their abilities.
Torbjorn and symmetra had so many reworks over the years they are pretty much not even the same characters
Widowmaker can just stay behind and pick off enemies with a 1 tap headshot, mei's slow is a death sentence and in a 1v1 she will always win against supports... But yes, buff them. Make the game even worse for supports
I am on the nerf Moira range train but the most I'd take away from her is 3 meters. Anything more than that it's she's feel useless.

@@tearitup5864 im around high gold low plat so I'm around the middle. I know she's not good I never said she was good. It's just the 20 meter range is too much. It never feels fair to be sucked to death from that range. Even bad characters can have unfair or very unfun mechanics about them. Obviously she should get some sorta buff along side the range nerf as compensation. Maybe a fade cooldown decrease or a DMG up I dunno that would be up to blizzard to figure out

I love this new ranked system got diamond 5 last season put down to plat 4 and now play against masters and gm players lots of fun(I do not think that I am good enough for masters yet)

Flats I'm gold 3 in dps on console and I'm facing players that have the Diamond chalenger on their profile and in dps I never been higher than like 2400 on overwatch 1 and overwatch 2 gold 3, so I don't understand how I'm matching whit Diamond players, can you explain to me?
soldier and soujourn's primary fire do extremely similar(if not identical) damage. source: tested in fire range. killed at the same rate but i said similar due to possibly being off by a few milliseconds)

I think the problem of roadhog is his one shot and not his healing output. I am glad they Adress it next season.
A tank should be tanky and endure much, not one shot something, if it not punished extremely bad positioning.
So to Adress the roadhog issue, I thing another genji nerf is in order.

My support rank aint that high, mainly because I don't lke to torture myself and I don't like the OW2 Dead by Daylight expension but I always played Lucio since the days of OW1.
But yesterday it was Route 66 and they had a Widow and we had a refusing to switch Junkrat and a Soldier with potato aim and Ramatra + Ana.
So when I'm playing Lucio and I see they have a Widow I always get very excited , so having 2 dps thats mid-long ranged heroes and didnt want to switch , I always make sure that the Widow wished she never had picked that hero.
So after I killed her 3 times and anoyed her even more she switched to Hanzo and after a decent round 1 , I had something like 3k dmg done and 4k healing,
So my single braincell Junkrat starting crying about that but he didn't realise one if not the only reason round 1 went like it went was because of me making the Widow practically useless.
Round 2 starts and I was tired of his whining so I switched to Kiriko and what do you think happend ? Ah they have a Widow again .... Headshot Junkrat dead , Headshot Junkrat dead and that times infinity. And all he could spam is ''I NEED HEALING'' ''I NEED HEALING''. I mean is he litteraly so DUMB that he don't understand that I can't heal dead people ??
I love to play support but this is one of the main reasons that I just don't want to play supp since my supp has such an amazing low elo compared to my tank.

Also got into Splatoon 3 and than Monster Hunter Rise which I found out is secretly just an MMO grinder with an action game facade over it.
In just a month or 2 I got 80 hours in the game I found out I'm roughly 15% into the game, 60% if you don't count all the non mandatory missions I skipped
Wouldn't hog be stronger if it took him longer to heal because he'd get the damage resist for longer making him safer against burst damage
That qp statement is accurate. What I don’t like, other people don’t see it like that anymore. I use qp to try more aggressive tactics to get better at killing under pressure so it transfers over to comp and I’m more relaxed. But people take qp seriously. I actually have been counter swapped on tank more times in qp then comp. In qp it’s like 90% chance they will go Orisa if I’m playing rein. In comp it’s probably around 60-70%. That’s why I recommend comp to people, yeah the system sucks but you overall will have a more enjoyable time if you don’t get bothered by dropping too much.
Edit: that part about about mmr and std is true too. I was gm in seasons 2-4, but I fell when rein got nerfed down to diamond. It’s like 3 seasons later and I’m in diamond 1 trying to get to masters at least and I’m in gm lobbies every comp game. System sucks, if you are going to put me in gm lobbies at least put me in gm not diamond.
Fav move is to boop the roadhog away when they hook me. Not gonna one shot me~

“Typically characters that play more in melee range have higher health than poke characters” (I agree but I think this is funny) roadhog out here with an insta kill poke ability, self heal, max roughly 300 damage per shot, and fuckin 700 hp with dmg resist on the heal while Reinhardt has a 90 dmg slow af projectile, 75 dmg max only in melee range with the hammer, a pin that requires you to throw your whole body out of position into the enemy for not even enough dmg to kill brig/mei/reaper, plus a near useless low health shield that makes you stop doing anything else to use it, and the cherry on top of having only 300 health and 325 armor. Oh don’t get me started on the ult power disparities between the two. I hate how blizzard is really out here saying rein isn’t in need of big buffs/small reworks to parts of his kit when road-hog and every other tank besides the dps tank doomfist, even while hog is changed now he is just statistically better than rein at like everything. It’s insulting that they’ve tried to dangle a carrot in front of our faces for weeks about how they’ll buff his fire strike by 10 dmg, ffs man stop balancing Reinhardt by how good people are at him, balance him based on the balance of other characters. Rant over lmao
