To be fair if you're low ranked you can still have a good tip especially when it involves telling people how to play. But the guy had a reasonable tip that showed that you can see what roles the enemy was playing

I play DPS only with newbie friends so it's in a very low mmr. I ran into my first "Mercy's job is to pocket the tank" when I picked Ashe. The damage these tiktoks do cannot be understated.

I recently played some mercy cuz I love her she's my comfort character. When I was pocketing my Ashe in a match, our Rein got SOOO toxic and complaining all match because I was throwing. He literally was telling me to K*S, saying I'm ruining the game.
btw we won. Kills-Assists-Deaths I pocketed my ashe to 54-13-3. I finished 3-65-1. Our rein. 9-13-22.

@@Cuwzy that's fair! If it works in your elo/mmr it's viable. You gotta abuse what works at your rank -- even Flats has mentioned it; there's ideal, "perfect" overwatch play, and then there's the reality of the elo you're in. You can't expect your team to stay in your LOS as ana, or peek for heals, etc. Sometimes you gotta play a bit further up than you ideally should be, just to make it work. Later on though it stops working as much and can be considered throwing if you don't adapt and let these things become a bad habit holding you back.
Though there's always the smart play of jumping on a widow who's half hp and just used grapple hook, throwing damage orb and just right click for a quick kill. That can still work. A matter of situational timing 👍

yeah i know this guy, hes incredily stupid. me and my friend decided to queue up with him and ego boost him by continuously complimenting him throughout the match when throwing. he always has "playing with viewers, only join if you're gm" in the title of his streams.
he was apparently gm at one point in overwatch 1 but was clearly boosted because when he looked through his profile the season after hitting gm he dropped to plat

9:05 he's on console (I saw an Xbox icon)where the queue times are pretty short in general, especially at lower ranks. Literally instantly queue's on support while Dps and Tank are usually 2-4 minutes on average from what I've seen (which I guess is on the longer side). It also queue's instantly if you have a full team so invite your friends, enemies that pop off and teamates that are good.

Imma say it. 3000 competitive points for a gold gun is a but excessive. especially (not sure if glitch or not) that you end of season points don't accumulate for the role now you just get whatever was you highest Sr "ration" no more getting gold in 3 of the roles and getting a decent bit at the end of the season plus your winning games. I hope they'd at least bring it to 1500 or even 2000 but now the gold gun completion just feels so much further away compared to ow1
being in plat/diamond is the sweet spot for unlocking guns at a semi fast rate

Y’know, seeing the first “advice” and seeing open queue. I remember an old story of mine, my friends unironically only play open queue and when I was party leader I put us into role queue.
I was then proceeded to get bashed on by a friend of mine that if I wanted to play role queue I “shouldn’t be sweating so hard” and go play comp. When I was giving basic call outs of where people were and when my friends were overextending. My brain cells were actively burning that day as that same friend thought “flex” was being able to play all roles, I don’t fully understand why anyone would actively play only open queue. It can be fun, I’ll give it that but religiously only playing open queue. Please, enlighten me as to only playing it.

I play open queue sometimes because nobody picks support and I can practice my aim and having to heal the whole team. Not in comp though

12000 points in 60 hours, 3k per gun, 15 per comp win, means you won 800 games, with an 80% winrate (impossible unless smurfing) that's 1000 games in 60 hours if you somehow played literally nothing but competitive, if each game average at about 10 min (most games are 10-15 from my experience) you would've had at the very minimum 167 hours, why u lying on yt

Edit: Just before anyone says you shouldnt get anything for losing. Ow2 has taken out any sense of a reward for just playing the game which where lootboxes if this was OW1 not getting comp points for a lose wouldnt be a problem because you still earn lootboxes so it feels like you still get something for your time.

I have almost 130 hours as well, watch coaching guides from many channels and study the game as much as I can while playing all roles and I most definitely still consider myself a new player. I am gold in support and silver in one placement of damage but I think being aware of how much there is to learn and habits to constantly break is important for those like that junkrat player.

To me, open queue is just essentially tank/supp only queue. They might as well rename it to GOATS queue, would be more accurate. I mean if that's your idea of fun, great, then it makes sense that you're having fun with it.
In regards to gold guns, it's hard to get them as bronze.. I've played comp since beginning, from ingame stats I see I got 519 hours in competitive so far, won 563 games in total, and only have 7 golden weapons. You used to get comp points per role and per comp mode, but now that's been reduced, so bronzes really get nothing these days. Having to win 200 games for a golden gun means playing at least 400 games, that's 133 hours per gun, so I'm incredibly lucky that I have been able to get 7 guns from OW 1 as that's only 74 hours per gun.
Nah, the rank drop is a huge problem this season. I finished at gold 2, had like 5 wins needed for the 7 wins. Season 2 started I went 7-3 my first 10 matches and it dropped me to Silver 4. It has been complete hell since. Matches are few and far between for a fair feeling match.
The old system was better. Sure the placements did absolutely nothing, but the system as a whole was just better. I want to remain where I belong and climb OR drop because of a visible reason. I dont want to have to grind *just* to get to a rank that ultimately means nothing because of the invisible mmr in the background pitting me against players of my actual skill level.
@@tatuvarvemaa5314 They like to "match" MMR. So if your DPS and the enemy teams are both 2000MMR. But your DPS are OW1 players while theirs are new to the game...... Who do you think is gonna win that match? They need to either combine the 2 ratings OR do away with one and make the other completely visible.
Not to mention how can you climb out of silver when you have games like this:

My DPS combined:
Reaper, Sojourn: 18 kills, 9k damage, 22 deaths.
That is a average "SILVER" TANK EXPERIENCE

Open should just be changed to having the same 1:2:2 role limits but allowing the full range of switching among your team. Say you have a friend who's only good at one tank, when that situation arrives let them go that tank and you can take up as their role. This would be different enough because your rank would need to reflect all roles.
I've wanted this in the base game mode so much. As long as the 1:2:2 stays the same it would be great to swap

You can still play 1/2/2 in open queue and do the switch thing but you can also play every other comp. Plus the games i had so far were way more balanced and teammates were more willing to switch to a more useful hero/role compared to the games i played in role queue.
I can’t help but think that maybe the way tanks are designed has a bit to do with the problem? If tanks are in general better than dps, maybe nerf tank damage into the ground? I’m no expert, don’t claim to be I’m bad, but it seems like tanks just do dps’s job better.
It's balanced right now for Role Queue. Tanks being better than DPS is mostly true. But there are two dps, and only 1 tank in the main game mode. Tanks also generally are fairly close range, while DPS have a multitude of ranges. Tanks don't auto win against DPS. But you best believe a team of 3 Tanks are going to win against a team of 3 DPS almost every time. They take up too much space, and have too much hp.
1v1 a dps can beat a tank. Like a Sojourn in the back beating up a tank, she can eventually kill the tank. But in OW you fight for space. The dps don't have enough hp to survive in the space required to actually win the objective, especially with 3 beefy enemies getting healed by supports.
And deathmatch maps, are usually fairly enclosed areas, so tanks are still pretty strong if they catch you. Though Junkrats and Moira's will probably still kill steal most of your fights from you lol.
Ive always struggled with this whole hog debate. Hog didn't really change much outside of healthbuffs if I remember correctly and the other buff he had is kiriko. Now my main issue is that I still think hog would be fine, even with the one shot, as long as you make is survivability a bit worse. Cuz in OW 1 hog was only usefull until like...mid dia cuz the only thing he was good it was catching bad players but now...its just the double shield that is missing...so... . Id rather see nerfs on kiriko (but that would suck out Support heroes even more so I dunno) or his take a breather say damage reduction down to 20% or something like that.
Making hog more boom or bust like ow1 would be very unhealthy for him as a tank. He would end up like doom; you either play him perfectly and get decent value, or you make a couple of mistakes and get dumpstered.
You know the "mercy pocket the tank" guys take on how long it takes to get comp points is pretty valid. At a 50% winrate it takes 400 games to get a gold weapon, and at his winrate it'll take over 1200 games.
First one was actually a good tip if you play open queue he was just a low rank so you shit on him 👍
I'm t500 open queue and first clip is actually quite helpful to judge if the enemy is doing strats like widow on first point kings row, or just general tilt/role reversals. And while im at it, open queue is very fun! while normal ranked is dominated by pocketed sojurns and hogs, you can play virtually any tank or support in open queue and still get insane value because it comes down to your own skill on the hero above any meta.
Honestly this just sounded like the most beginner of beginner tips... which I am one of. "Hey, check your team and maybe glance at the enemy teams first role picks before you pick yours boss". Literally hit tab before you pick was the tip there, right? I am brand new to the game and assumed I'm confused, other than don't play open queue which I get if you are trying to play competitively. Of course open queue non comp is all I play lol.

He should be talking about how any damage buff lets her 1-shot full health enemies. 0 cooldown on the railgun. And how her ult is just free railgun shots that can 1-shot with a damage boost, lasts for like 8 seconds. And the railgun retains charge for a full 5 seconds.

7:36 I hate this argument every time it gets brought up in any game. No, there's three; The single player, the matchmaking, and the population. 'Last one don't matter if you have a healthy population, for all ranks, but when you don't....I still remember days in games like LoL, Hots, Smite, BLR, when I had Plat< and was getting placed with Gold> on my team. 90% of the time, this happening, it's because something's gone wrong with the match making, an half the time with that, it's because pop issues. If there are, then you're going to get placed with the same people consistently.

As someone who placed bronze 5 at the beginning of last season and climbed into gold. Silver was full of the worst players. Worst than bronze. Blizzard just confirmed why, they put new players in silver MMR instead of bronze where they actually belong. This made the climb through silver so hard. Blizzard said they fixed the new player MMR issue so hopefully some of these matchmaking issues will level out.

Huge 5 head move as Echo is to copy their support if one of your support dies. I've had some Echos copy Mercy, rez me, and then become a giga Chad elating battle mercy and it works some the time lol
15:04 Whenever I play Echo, I usually copy either the Junkrat, Sojourn, or Kiriko. Duplicating Kiriko and using Kitsune can really turn over a teamfight very quickly.
When I play Echo I'm almost always duplicating support, their ultimates are (usually) very useful.
I ended s0 at low Plat (with a higj winrate) and was placed high silver without playing any placements at the start of this season, I don't really get it but I had to spend a week and a half climbing back to Plat and getting called a smurf and it wasn't even my fault

Yeah my promotion game to diamond was against a top 500 who didn't climb back to gm yet and he was on his main role, I wanted to start crying, keep in kind I started the season in silver

Complaining about sweats and tryhards in games is something I understand and do on occasion, however when I complain its because I'm not playing competitive. Comp is literally the place you are supposed to go to tryhard, how can someone complain about going into a ranked ladder and seeing that people are trying to climb that ladder?

Idk about other people, but I log on and it says my endorsement level went down from 4 to 3, but I have not once in my life seen anything telling me it went up to 4 in the first place. It scams me every goddamn time

Eh I really like Playing Open Queue, I use whatever I want whenever I want and atleast in High Plat I can still use Dps character and win games.
7:25 only thing i agree with this guy on is i think unlocking gold weapons through comp wins is kinda dumb. would rather have it be a character mastery thing

Ngl I really hate 3 tanks 2 supports. Not saying its bad it's just fucking annoying.
Someone with 400 hours and a first timer to OW2 coming over from Team Fortress and Titanfall here (Plat 2 but stacking with a friend in high diamond) - I don't understand why people don't just look for the meta and play around it. It's not hard to find what a pro player's advice is and try and copy that over to your skill tier the best you can. I'm used to wallrunning already so I gravitated towards lúcio and was pleasantly surprised to find him as #1 support, but before that I learned very quickly on my own that brain-off moira-ing for damage and heals is not smart.
Top things that helped me push from silver queuing with gold to where I am now is:
Tank: Reduce deaths as much as possible, only ever consider trading with another tank. Open teamfights (after getting OK from team) and create space. Fall back when down a player, if you die the teamfight is guaranteed lost.
DPS: Increase kills per minute and final blows. Trade with other DPS when you can, but your primary target should be the enemy supports. Always seek high ground, open sightlines, and other positional advantages. Play around your tank, and be sure not to over extend, even when chasing a low target. Heals come fast in this game, and that 20hp retreating lúcio can very easily turn into a damage boosted roadhog, so watch out!
Support: Heal numbers are not as important as you think. It's better to help your team win the fight by any means possible - if that means damage boosting to get faster picks as mercy, or speed boosting to rush in and take space as lúcio, or kitsune rushing, etc., do it. As mercy, don't revive in the open and try to save it for your tank if you are losing the fight badly (DPS tend to die away from cover).
Aplying metas into your games is a good idea and works well when you have players who are plat and above (understand the meta, how to play it and why it works), especially when coordinated like a 5 stack. But the problem is that most players solo q and are bellow plat, so they dont get to rely on their team mates to cooperate or understand the same things. Ultimately the reason why someone isn’t ranking up though is themselves and their own performance.

i think there should be silver guns or something too. or maybe the ability to buy skins with comp points. some skins would match a lot better with silver weapons imo, plus this allows for players who have a lot of points to have more shit to unlock.

15:16 this guy was pretty infamous in the yu-gi-oh community for his weird and often times "hot takes" on the game (anyone can win a major tournament with ease and stuff like that), sadly he didn't change for overwatch even if he's been playing the game for a longer period of time.
Playing valorant the games are 40 to and hour so 20mins doesnt seem to bug me

are you talking about the rank decay with the new season?? cause it was not small differences, I went from diamond 3 on support and then was gold 1. and on dps i went from plat 4 to silver 3. maybe in higher elo it was a smaller rank decay??? or was it defferent because i am a xbox player???
I know everyone says to be high ground, but I find when I m on high ground the only part of my body showing ends up being the head and I get non stop head shot from down below. I could be doing it wrong but man I hate being on high ground.
