The cold chain timer is why I like to take my catering bag into the store when shopping if there’s a large number of perishables. Gives the store and the associates peace of mind that it’ll reach the customer safely.
If you wait until you’re in the Walmart parking lot to press start for your trip, you will be waiting for them to load it longer. They don’t start gathering the totes from the various storage areas Such as frozen and refrigerated until the driver has “started“ the trip. A trick I learned from one of the associates is to start the trip from a few miles away from the location. The app will let you start the trip early based on your distance from the Walmart. Because the app knows where you are. So if you’re 5 miles away and it’s going to take you eight minutes to get there, start your trip eight minutes before the pick up time. Then while you’re driving to the location, they are putting everything on their cart, and when you arrive, they will bring it out quicker. This works almost every time, especially at neighborhood markets. It really seems to piss off the other drivers who are waiting for their orders.
So you are saying to start the trip before you pick up the orders? How if you have to wait until the order comes out and you have to scan the items and MANY stores do not have enough people working and you wind up waiting almost an hour most times. And I believe the Spark app counts that time that I’m waiting and then I never get the incentives because I waited so long for the order.
Yesterday I was tip baited on spark for 30$ worth of tips. The customer has 24 hours to adjust tips and we as drivers have all the pressure. When the customer gets a text saying rate your experience it falls only on the driver. I've tried to talk to spark support to see if I could somehow block orders from whoever tip baited me to protect myself in the future but they say they can't do that. The drivers have the least benefit and the multi billionaire company doesn't care about us. The customers who tip bait can just keep doing it and no problem. The 24 hour policy to remove a tip should be banned in my opinion. If you need 24 hours to think about removing a tip why not go out and buy your own groceries? Tip baiting is literally the worst. Yes I actually cried over it because that was valuable time and energy both from myself and my car and 30$ of my time was just gone. And the customer gets their groceries and not feel an ounce of guilt of doing that to somebody. Walmart definitely needs to change their policy on this. Thank you for the video. I appreciate these informative gig app videos.
The bad thing about spark in a lot of areas are teams that sit with multiple phones and snatch up all of the orders and in our area will come to your car door with a gun and make you leave. The police sit here now because they were even doing this with people who were picking up their own groceries. Our online grocery dept is also ALWAYS massively behind because the marketing people removed the limit of how many people can order and pick up per hour so instead of spark orders plus 15 online orders an hour we will sometimes get 40 onlines and a ton of spark stuff so everything is either massively behind or a number of orders have to be delayed to next day.
@@YourDriverMike North Eastern part of Maryland, many of the towns along 95 especially close to Baltimore can get a little iffy at times. Have not had issues with DD or UE, just Spark because a lot of police already kind of ignore any call from Walmarts because of theft.
@@mjulianlee Yeah, we think they are either using stolen accounts/identities or since the one group is a team of 8 that the group at the walmart holds phones and takes orders and the 2 drivers only take the phones for the orders they have in vehicles and they just rotate phones.
The waiting for pick up time sucks. I have been driving Spark for a while now, and there is no getting around it. If your waiting for the order to be loaded for 30 minutes or longer you can cancel with out it affecting your rate. I have several hot spots in my area. When I drive I pick the cluster of Walmart/Home Depot retailers in the neighborhood I want to work that day. I try not accept an order for less than 10 dollars total or more than 5 miles from that store. I try to keep it to as few stops as possible. If I haven't gotten anything fitting those for a while and need an order. I will take the multiple stop orders but no more than 3-4 stops total. The pay needs to be around 20 dollars for the entire order. 5-7 miles is generally my zone radius I stay in when running those. I always reject the warehouse orders. I have seen them as big as 22 stops, 45 miles, est. 2.5 hours for $65.00. When I first started doing Spark I would accept these orders. They take me about an hour longer than the estimated time, and end with me being 10-35 miles away from the closest Walmart or home.
The 10+ delivery batch runs are general merchandise. It’s one or two items in a bag, occasionally a bigger item. But predominantly little things. Being said, the pay is usually garbage. Barely $1/mi. Sometimes you can get lucky and it’s closer to $2
I did my first Spark yesterday. Had DD running too. I was sent downtown, out of my zone and then ‘accidentally’ took a ridiculous DD that had me pick up 2 spots for one addy. THEN Spark sent me WAYYYY out of my zone. Took me 30 minutes to get home. And what’s up with the ‘confirmed’ tips? Half of my money is being held hostage 😂 I think you’re right about not using it as your main source.
I do mostly shop and delivers. I used to not get a lot when I first started two years ago, but since I preferred them, I started passing up the 2 stop and 3 stop orders and maybe pick up a good multi-general merch offer as long as the pay was fairly close to 2x the miles that was around an hour to maintain a $20+/ hr threshold, however, since I preferred S&D's, I would sit at my favorite store and on any given day would get an average of 7 of them. I've done up to 11 S&D's in one day that paid out $250 for base plus tips. I work an 8 hour shift, maybe 9, if it's a particularly a good day to deliver. However, I do Spark as my primary means of making money and multi-app on slower days. I have 4 super Walmarts, a Sam's, a Neighborhood Walmart, and multiple 3 Advanced Auto Zone stores in my zone that really isn't all that big in Florence Alabama. I do avoid one big store because they are horrible disorganized when it comes to curbside and only accept S&D's from that store and our Sam's store pays less than $1/mile on average.
Tell you if you try to do another order while you’re waiting they will give you a certain time limit to get to reserve parking spot and then they will cancel if you are not heading there. I just had that happen and the other day on a shopping order. You either commit to it or you don’t.
Availability is when you hit “spark now” there is a time available drop down list that you choose how long you are available to deliver (this time changes and you can extend your availability throughout the day)
I was a Walmart employee for 27 years and I seen all the changes through the years and I'm trying to see how this system works and I'm learning more as a customer
As Mike mentioned about a waitlist, just to let you all know, I was on the wait list for two and a half years, yes you read that right 2 1/2 years on the waitlist. I signed up for Walmart spark the same time I did Amazon Flex, I was on the waitlist for Amazon Flex for 6 months, and on the wait list for spark for 2 and 1/2 years so be prepared to wait a very very long time mostly depending on your area as well.
One thing I learned is sometimes the multi stop orders have repeat addresses in other words it say 8 stops but might only be 5.... an order may've been placed by same customer or you have multiple drops at one location. So now I ck. For that too it can make it better paying than what it seems initially.
Former online pickup delivery for Walmart which is called OPDPov: as soon as the Express order pops up we started but meanwhile when y'all accepted we just started picking when it pops up they need to fix that while y'all waiting 10 minutes 20 minutes 25 minutes that's how long it takes for us to pick 50 plus orders and one basket meanwhile trying to bag it etc and run it out to y'all is a headache but on the other side we pick it and it's ready for y'all on time it's like a glitch in the system Hope this helps y'all understand
One of the managers from our Walmart was telling Spark shop and deliver that we couldn't park anywhere in the Walmart parking lot. She was saying we had to park in the movie theater parking lot which is across a major road! I wish I'd been there, I'd of asked her did she have extra employees to bring all the carts back? We ignored her.
That couldn't happen around here. All the carts wheels lock. Sometimes even in the same general parking lot if it's right next to another building like a bank and sandwich shop. The carts will not go there even if it's fairly close to WM front door.
I'm curious if you have any spark scammers in your area, I was hoping identity verification would keep them away but it's been a failure they bypass it and have 3, 4, or 5 accounts and theres 10 of them constantly doing shopping orders. They drop one order off and before they even get to the parking lot their other phone already has another lined up. It's made spark unworkable in my zone I maybe get 1 or 2 crappy orders on a sunday and that's it.
I’m seeing a few comments mention shady activity on Spark. I do like the real time face scans but how are they bypassing it plus having so many accounts?
How much do you tip a driver? Is it a percentage of the amount you paid or a flat tip? I’m getting ready to have surgery and I don’t think I’m going to be getting around so much for the next couple of months so I’m looking to start using this service. My house is pretty easy to get to since I live within a mile of Walmart and my front door is 20 feet from the driveway where the driver would park. I’ve never used any delivery service outside of the post office or Amazon, so this is new to me. I just wanna make sure people get paid fairly.
I've seen that waiting for a while we'll pay you more, but I've never seen the money, not once. The GM 20 stop deliveries was my favorite type, until I noticed at the end is usually a 20-25 mi drop and you have to commute back. For me now I'll only do those for $3/mi and since that won't happen I won't be doing those anymore. I liked them because they made like $25/hr. And I didn't have to wait 20 minutes to pick up 2 orders during that time.
Here in Hudson MA store, I use the regular paper bags at self checkout. The first time I did shop and order here, I asked the head cashier about this. She said to use the bags at the register. Problem solved for me.
Here in OR our Walmart has NO bags available for customers. You must bring your own or purchase one of their flimsy blue bags for .78. As a Spark shopper they provide smallish brown bags with handles (really cheesy so you must double bag anything on the heavier side). I always carry extra ones in case of tears (and this has happened when picking up curbside too). Have a nice day from the west coast 😊
I’ve found I can’t ever see fcfs orders anymore. I get a notification, I’m on the page, but the offer never shows up. I’ve talked to driver support so many times it’s unreal. They are always referring to tech, but I never hear anything from them either. It’s really frustrating. I also might get 2 round robin orders in 4 hours. Crazy.
I do walmart spark on the weekends it was good but now they have bonuses it’s impossible if all the stores have about 30 drivers tht extra money is not really tht great n each delivery it take a hour in my zone north east jersey sucks n the curbside not even worth it. Most the trips be like 8 miles for like $15-$18 not worth it n they paying less every week maybe its just a January thing idk i only have 2 months on this i have a full time job i rather make money than no money
Are you noticing this mainly on Spark or other apps as well? Is there a way to tell if my market is affected? I don’t notice anything in particular when I’ve gone online curious what the signs are
@YourDriverMike I only noticed it when I started doing Spark only. Large groups of people speaking Spanish getting all the huge shopping orders and I don't see any all day long. You pretty much have to be working only one store and waiting in the parking lot for hours to notice it.
Bots are huge in my market here in Phoenix to the point I went from using spark as my main app to rarely receiving orders! It will say you have a new request and then you click and it disappears before you can even look to see what the order is.
I did my first shopping delivered today retirement gave me to get to the residence there is no way in the world I could have got there on time due to traffic and how far away it was
If you're not shopping for the items, just delivering, I'd love to know how you get paid by Walmart on orders. Is it per delivery, per item or per purchase amount? My employer uses them, but we are not allowed to tip. So I'd like to know how you're compensated to determine when I order for delivery vs. pickup. Thanks!
I have never seen a perishable timer other than 90 minutes and I have done like 500 shop and delivers in the last 8 months. As far as your long routes with like 10+ stops those will never be groceries. They are one off orders, normally one or maybe 2 items per stop and the pay to mileage is so crappy because walmart doesn't give the option for the customer to tip on those deliveries.
It's not just scammers and bots, the issue goes down much deeper than that, these young kids that Walmart hired to deliver the groceries to your car have full control of your delivery once you have parked in the designated spot area, at this point they can actually manipulate the orders and do as they please. from cancelling your order if they like right in the spot or take orders away from your batch. Also make you wait longer hours if they want too, and if you happen to be an A#@ kisser / friendly Mr nice guy with them!..... guess what..... you get your order first! and you are on the way to deliver! True Facts. Be on the lookout next time and you'll see!
Walmart is a great filler app. You can spend a lot of time just trying to drive back and forth to Walmart. I drive for a very polarized market so usually 2-3 miles going southwest puts me in a good area for other restaurant orders; but if it's east going up to 10 miles, it's very likely I'll get anything else and owuld have to go all the way back to the Walmart. And if I go 4-6 miles northwest, Walmart is still nearly the fastest place to return to granted sometimes I can get a crappy Mcdonalds or 7-11 order that keeps me in the neighborhood. I like the 1-3 drop runs too; can likely multiapp and pick up something with a nearby restaurant and going the same direction.
Sam's Club is awful, always make you wait 20 to 30 minutes to pick up the order, then you wait 10 to 20 minutes for them to come out with order, no extra pay either. Most miles and lowest pay.
..our walmart wont let us bag till aft we leave the store.. which is dumb cause they just now gave us our own checkout lane, so no more waiting in line, but now extra time bagging..?? The whole point is speed! I would bag as I shopped, scan and go.. so easy.. Do I have to comply to that? I'm tempted to just keep doing it and if they keep yelling at me, I wanna ask for the manager that made that rule and explain why its dumb.. But I also dont know my actual rights. I dont want to get 'fired' or banned from the store.. A-lot of these 'independent contractor' jobs have fine print written into the contracts that basically lets them treat us more like employees.. so until I learn more about the system, I'll guess i'll just shut up and comply or else I'll be sleeping the walmart parking lot.
@rogerwilco1777 yeah I lived that life in walmart parking lot when I was 14, living in a car with 5 other people, no room to sleep, not fun but I imagine by yourself it wouldn't be as bad
Spark use to be a great side hustle however since Walmart purchased the company it has went massively down in such a manner that I'm about to quit it all together!
Hey Mike .. faithful watcher.. when you hit "Spark Now" how long do you turn it on for? Like a few hours as in 8AM - Noon or 1PM -- or just like an hour at a time as in 8AM - 9AM and then hit Spark Now again for like 9-10 or 1030.. just wondering as a Strategy? Thank U
I have been on sparkdriver waitlist for over a year. Any zip codes that are currently open? I tried calling they said they don’t know what zip codes are open?
Question, so ive been driving for Spark for a year, they just did another background check, is that normal after a year?,cuz i got my first ticket in over 15 years and it came up, will i get deactivated for that ticket?
I bag my groceries as I shop, however I've been told by a couple of the receipt nazi's that I cant bag my groceries till aft I leave the store.. Is this true or just some BS rule that my particular store made up? Can I refuse to do this?.. or did i sign some kind of contract working for Spark saying I have to comply to store policy, show receipt etc? We're not employees, we're independent contractors.. and just like a normal customer doesn't have to stop if they don't want for the receipt check.., can I also refuse their 'no-bagging' rule, or refuse to stop for the receipt check? I mean they're messing with my business and costing me time which equals money.. and if I have to follow store rules, am I really a contractor or what? I dont want to burn bridges, but I also don't like people slowing me down and forcing me to jump through unnecessary hoops (unless they wanna pay extra).. I'm really just worried about the 'no bagging' rule. If there's some fine print in the contract that says I cant do it, then ok I'll comply..
It took me 2 Weeks to sign up here in state of Florida was not that bad it i hear the list is long but i feel Spark how do really people make money if the tips ain't great
Lately, what's been pissing me off is the "10 minute reminders" in the app. "Warning. Head to your delivery location now. It is due in 10 minutes!" Drives me absolutely bonkers - I am stuck in traffic, or the GPS took me to the wrong area, or I'm doing 10 mph on a dirt and gravel road with massive pot holes! I don't think it affects my metrics as all are still green for me, but the warning/reminders are just driving me mad. The worst part is that the 10 minute warning has NOTHING to do with the Perishable Timer! It's usually 1 hour away and I've got plenty of time, but for some reason someone (I can't figure out if it's Walmart Staff or the Customer) wants it "faster." I'm in a 2008 Honda Fit - not a Jeep Wrangler. I am not losing an axle or getting stuck in mud for the sake of speed.
can you look in to TH-cam they are now saying TH-cam will pay you $1000 dollars to watch their videos ???? if that worth the time i watch TH-cam 24/7 i do not have cable i just have my pc i play games on and watch TH-cam
Can someone help me . I'm on disability I just started with Spark a few weeks ago. Dealing with the Social Security Administration. They want information about Spark Driver Delivery. They want addresses & Number. My question is it the local Walmart where I pick up my orders the address I need to provide. Because when I call Spark Support I don't get any information. Dealing with Social Security Administration they want to know all your business
I am a customer of Walmart delivery in central Florida. I am sharing with you a very concerning shortcoming of Walmart delivery drivers - I have found that a lot of you younger drivers have no basic understanding of the four points of the compass! Finding my location requires instructions that use compass directions for reference. I put those directions in my delivery instructions on the Walmart site but I get calls and find drivers wandering my neighborhood lost because some of you don't know East from West! Why would Walmart hire drivers who do not have basic literacy? How do you graduate grade school without learning where the North pole is, and where South America is in relation to your location?? How can you not know from which direction the sun rises and sets each day?? I really am mystified by this. Not speaking good English is one thing but not having enough schooling, in any country where you grew up, to know the points of the compass??? Incomprehensible! Please explain to me how that happens. Many road signs rely on drivers knowing compass directions. There are real limits to the usefulness of GPS navigators and it seems some are staking their lives and safety and careers on the software in their GPS navigators, at the cost of fresh timely food deliveries. What should I tell my local Walmart store manager? What excuses do you smart phone addicted young people have for this?
I'm not a young adult, though I have a daughter that isn't terribly far from becoming one. And. If you still need an answer .....it is? Modern Education. As well as a total disregard for any concept of human pride, that is inherently bred into our younger generations. And . I'm still trying to figure that one out!!!????
@@ShockBot127 All right on except I think you meant human dignity, not pride. Egotism is what is a pandemic in US schools. Gladiator sports are the ultimate ego games in grade school. So are things like shaming a kid because he/she does not wear the latest fashions. Social media has extended this poison to the internet and has even caused suicides and school shootings.
You can get a shop and deliver order that is an express order. These pay a bit more than a normal shop and deliver order. Several times, I have issues with items that are locked in a cage and you can waste a lot waiting for someone to get it out for you. When doing a shop order, I always leave anything perishable for the last things I pick up. If you have been waiting more than 30 minutes for an order, you can cancel and not have it effect your metrics.
Hey man, I'll say spark can be very good if you in a smaller town. Bigger pay but could be lot down time. As for spark shop orders, you can power speed through them if you know the store well. But your right man. Using spark mostly as filler. But it works well with DD tho.

Just heard about this app. Can't wait to try it out. Great because I live next to my local Walmart
@@YourDriverMikethis is what I want to know.
@@YourDriverMikebots.
One zone I do has started checking DLs at the register. You can't shop and deliver there anymore unless the order matches the DL.
Crazy.
I've been on the Spark wait list in Raleigh, NC for over a year.
What about all the fraudulent accounts and bots? How can anyone do a Spark video without mentioning that? Are you really unaware of this problem.?
Are you noticing this mainly on Spark or other apps as well? Is there a way to tell if my market is affected? I don’t notice anything in particular when I’ve gone online curious what the signs are
@YourDriverMike I only noticed it when I started doing Spark only. Large groups of people speaking Spanish getting all the huge shopping orders and I don't see any all day long. You pretty much have to be working only one store and waiting in the parking lot for hours to notice it.
@@YourDriverMike You should really watch some other gig content.
Bots are huge in my market here in Phoenix to the point I went from using spark as my main app to rarely receiving orders! It will say you have a new request and then you click and it disappears before you can even look to see what the order is.
Bots also a problem here in Houston.
I did my first shopping delivered today retirement gave me to get to the residence there is no way in the world I could have got there on time due to traffic and how far away it was
Cant even get in, too saturated i guess. Wont even let me change location . Any advice?
If you're not shopping for the items, just delivering, I'd love to know how you get paid by Walmart on orders.
Is it per delivery, per item or per purchase amount?
My employer uses them, but we are not allowed to tip. So I'd like to know how you're compensated to determine when I order for delivery vs. pickup.
Thanks!
I got wait listed in Winston-Salem for about a month but I got on and haven’t had issues
I believe this to be true
This is definitely something to “GET BY” until the next job
Sam's Club is awful, always make you wait 20 to 30 minutes to pick up the order, then you wait 10 to 20 minutes for them to come out with order, no extra pay either. Most miles and lowest pay.
Spark shop is so easy. You get your own self checkout lane, no scanning items.
Shop, bag, scan QR code, and go!
..our walmart wont let us bag till aft we leave the store.. which is dumb cause they just now gave us our own checkout lane, so no more waiting in line, but now extra time bagging..??
I've found that the multi stop runs are usually one or two item orders.
Spark use to be a great side hustle however since Walmart purchased the company it has went massively down in such a manner that I'm about to quit it all together!
My area is pretty cool. The incentives have been pretty good lately.
Any tips on how to get reactivated. Never told me why got deactivated?
I am trying to sign up but there is not way I can do. I live in Houston, TX
I just started with spark, looks like we are in the same area.
What are the stores on the map? I click on a store it gives the location, but what next?
Walmart does not have those type of bags at the location where I shop.
Thanks
California we get mileage it's big plus
On pay day
Took me bout a month or two to get activated
10 orders in one batch is nothing to me at this point. Regularly see 20+ order batches in north Texas. Easy $80+
Hey Mike .. faithful watcher.. when you hit "Spark Now" how long do you turn it on for? Like a few hours as in 8AM - Noon or 1PM -- or just like an hour at a time as in 8AM - 9AM and then hit Spark Now again for like 9-10 or 1030.. just wondering as a Strategy? Thank U
I don’t mind the multistock, but the problem is some of these multi stuff. Don’t even pay. Anymore
I declined a 16 stop for $58. Took me way out. Rejected it.
I just declined a 18 stop today that was 2 hr 13 min lol
Does spark have instant pay after delivery?
drivers using bot accounts is the main issue
Should be the first thing mentioned in any Spark video.
I just got hired as a Spark driver. What is a bot account? And how will I know if other drivers are using them?
Can i get my deposit on my one card instead of my bank account?
Bots killed my spark market...!!!
Hey neighbor! I’m in Westmoreland county
It took me a year and a half to get certified.
see ya next video ✌️
One of the biggest spark problems imo: not only are the incentives confusing but the notifications are cluttered and redundant.
Batch orders (over 3 stops) are absolutely garbage!!!! They pay $1 a mile and you will NOT finish them in the time they have listed.
Haven't did more than a 3 stop batch
So who is getting the orders in these Bot orders?
My problem is the unconfirmed tips that’s bs
I waited eight months and I just got in
I just signed up today. Waiting for the background check I guess. I hope it’s worth it.
I got approved in 2 days
I agree
I’m planning on doing this on side like weekend would it be worth it?
Definitely FILLER APP 4 me

I would say if someone besides you is shopping for and delivering your groceries regardless of how small the order is, I’d tip them.
You really need to get your information correct before you start making videos like this
I feel like he’s drinking the koolaid when it comes to spark
Ты очень нудный!
Shop and deliver never worth it. Big waste of your time.
Speak for yourself. I can shop 30 items in 20 minutes. Base pay is much higher and bigger tips in many cases
@@cruisinwithcoreyI agree - best money maker for me as well. No waiting at curbside and the breakdown of the location of the items is awesome. 😎
@@cruisinwithcorey You just hit that on the nose.
It helps if your a former Walmart worker. I mostly work my old store so I know where everything is
I get alot of 11- 20 dollar orders for shopping and most of the time it 2 , 5 , 7 items and 3 or 4 miles away, easy money
Funny why would someone need to drive for spark when they claim there the best and biggest money makers for DoorDash lmao
