- I bought this table a few years ago off Facebook marketplace and it's been in the garage ever since, so I thought it was time to see what lies beneath the paint.
We would be super happy if you subscribed don't forget it's absolutely free.

The side inlay to match the existing stripes was a master stroke. Well done lads!
Thank you James's 😊
I wanted to like this, but it just didn't get there. I kind of expected that the iron base and table trim would be restored. Instead, the base was painted, and the trim discarded. The underside of the table was left untouched and messy. The lion head wasn't needed and added nothing to the piece. It just doesn't work for me.
Hiya mary, yes we wanted to transform the table into something new rather then Restore it to its original look. But I do see your point, working on my next video now and it will be 100% restoration style.
Dreadful destruction , tacky as heck
Turned something unique into… I don’t know what
@suegreen8214 You don't need to be rude, we accept constructive criticism/feedback with open arms but not rudeness.
Beautiful table, the outcome was superb.
Thank you Pam 😊 🙏
That is a striking and dramatic table! Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Please more videos! From Brazil
Thank you so much 🙂
You both have done amazing work transforming that old table in to a master piece. Good work on the stripping and respraying the metal work. Nice CNC work on the lions head and the mixing of the black and gold dies. The finish is out of this world, very nice work'
As always a great video, Take care
Thank you so much for your kind feedback Shaun 😊 ☺️
The lion is just not it.
You not a fan of epoxy?
@@UpcycleFurnitureFinds Not that lion. It looks like a business logo. Or a failed experiment that was too expensive to donate to Goodwill. The craftsmanship is great. It's just the subject matter that ruined for me.
@madzabinga8382 Ye I totally understand, we where trying something different. Thank you 😊
No its perfect . I love it
There was a beautiful table under that paint, but the lion ruins it. It does look like a business logo.
Nice redo. One thing, please wear a respirator when applying spray paint.
Thank you, yes you're definitely correct we should. 🙂
Well done. The lion is a nice touch 😊
Thank you! 😊
I have a special appreciation for lions, actually, and have a very similar picture of the king. Beautiful work.
Thank you 😊
Gorgeous!
Thank you! Means a lot 😊
That is gorgeous
Oh thank you so much 🙏😊
Sorry, but why did you experiment with the lion on this spectacular and beautiful wood? I really wished you had done the lion on another piece with beautiful grain without the contrasting inlays. I really wish!
Anyway. The new edging was beautiful. You handle the hand plainer as a professional which I admire. I will try another of your videos before I make a decision on whether to subscribe or not.
Thank you Helena. Yes I see most people have a love/ hate relationship with the lion. I think going forward I will focus more on purely restoring projects that have nice grain such as this table.
I must admit the lion is not my cuppa tea but I appreciate the skill involved. I wonder what the original use of this table was as it looks like something you would find in a public house.
Thank you, I'm not sure where it originally came from but yes it does look like a pub table doesn't it.
Really great work on this restoration 👌 the lion is a strange touch to the beautiful natural grain and you finishing is definitely up to scratch to leave it as is 💪
Thank you Ryan, I agree with you in general however Jakob wanted to try something different. The table is in our house and the rest of the family seem to like it.
@@UpcycleFurnitureFinds I respect that. You know if it is appreciated by those who use it, that’s a win 🏆
Looks Bloody awesome mate. Great up-cycle. 👍
Thanks mate, it's sat proudly in my bay window now 😀
Excellent work 👍🏻👏🏻
Cheers Phill 🍻
Beautiful ❤
Aw thank you 😊
Turned out awesome ❤
Thank you 😊
Great job. I didn't realise you had a second channel. What have I been missing? Time to find out.
Hi thank you, we have only just started. Working on video number 3 at the moment 😃
Great job👍
Thank you Richard 😊
Looks awesome
Thank you Sean 😊
I think it is really gorgeous just wish the lion wasnt there, i love animals especially big cats i just couldnt feel the vibe,
Maybe for like a man cave by the bar or gaming area, i could definitely see it fitting in there!!
I guess because i was born on the side of a mountain in KY theres just nothing more beautiful than natural wood grain to me si maybe im just bias lol, either way you did a great job!
Thank you so much, yes I actually agree. Am learning with every project and I find the design the hardest part. Some projects I think I'm overdoing it a little. I might be guilty of that in my next video but it's definitely something I'm working hard on. Let's see how I improve over 2025! Lots hopefully 🙏 😌 🙂 thank you for your constructive feedback.
Hi there, great video. Would love to know more about the oil applicator and handle for it. The thing that holds onto the white pad. I assume it’s a white scotchbrite pad?
Hi mate, ye it's a hook and loop sanding pad and none abrasive pad very similar to a scotchbrite pad. A bit finer I think but works great.

Way cool great job
Thank you 😊 🙏
Well done karlos
Thank you Jakob Domingos
The lines going thru the lions head detracts from the overall beauty of the piece. But very well done on the revamp.
@@yvonnepagan9912 Thank you 😊
Beautiful table. But the lion? Why?
Thank you, we were trying new techniques, but I totally understand it's not everyone's cup of tea.
You were right, I did believe the beauty of the tabletop after you stripped it. Then you ruined it.
I take it you didn't like the lion, I understand why however we enjoyed doing it and the person who purchased the table for their home bar loved it.
Is that a team logo?
No but that would be cool.
Lovalay and subbed up! ❤
Cheers mate
The lion looks absolutely awful and tacky
Why? Did you prefer it painted white?
@@UpcycleFurnitureFinds plain wood with an oil finish would have been better. For sure it would appeal to a wider audience.
The wood already contrasts well with the cast iron, since the finished wood is modern and the cast iron looks antique. The lion is just an eyesore, doesnt fit with anything
@piergiorgio919 I prefer this explanation then the first comment. Luckily the table doesn't need to appeal to a wider audience as it's in my house. I agree though if I where trying to sell it but I'm not and if I did then hopefully some people out there have a similar taste as myself.
Your right.....so much great skill and workmanship to make a beautiful monstrosity
@@kevinwoplin9322Thank you.

Like a glove 😂🤣
