There are leaders and there are those who lead. Leaders hold a position of power or influence. Those who lead are those who inspire us.

This hit home 🏡. It’s also the only way to attract and retain the best talent out there. You have to inspire them with a story, a vision that is greater than all of us put together. When you can work anywhere and earn anything, you want to be part of maximum impact, so you can say, “I wuz here” ❤

my boss once asked me this "Aini, thank you for doing this.. i am so grateful and touched by ur action. "
and I replied, " ur welcome. i was just being like a normal person caring for other people,"
to which she responded, "Well, I guess we need more normal people like you"
leadership is not a rocket science. it is a human science. regardless of our differences, as a human being, we shared a common core values.. and leadership is about acknowledging and honoring those values.

There is very little actual leader ship in the organization that I work for. The organization behaves like a managerial unit. I am an alternate shift lead so occasionally I take the keys. I take care of my coworkers even when I'm not officially in charge.
They all ended up voting me to be the union steward for our department. They entrusted me to negotiate our new contract.

Typical Italian-style pasta: Let’s start with the basics. First, make the sauce: Pour a little olive oil over a finely chopped onion in a pan. Fry the onion until it’s golden and then add chopped tomatoes (about 800 grams) and salt. Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes. Now, for the pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water, and add the pasta (preferably, in order to follow Italian tradition, spaghetti). Remember: the pasta should be added only when the water is already boiling. Doing the opposite is a very common mistake. Stir it to keep the noodles from sticking. Taste the pasta to gauge its readiness (see below for more on how to make sure your pasta is al dente), and drain it when it’s done. Add the sauce and mix. Garnish with a sprinkling of Parmesan cheese or Grana Padano.

I wish back when I was A younger Man that I could have had A leader in both work and in life. Because I could have been different.
Not angry, and defensive and confrontational.
    Bosses aren't leaders.

No, no, NO! STOP! Stop pushing "collectiveness", "communal", "social" THINKING. Employees are to be TOLD what, where, when, how. Then, if they don't do it, FIRE THEM. PERIOD.
