  • Dear reviewer of my channel, please read: permalink.ph...
Jordan Peterson has been touring since January, discussing my books, 12 Rules for Life and, to a lesser extent, Maps of Meaning (see www.jordanbpeterson.com/events for details, including upcoming tour dates and cities.
He was in Iceland in June and gave two lectures (June 04, Lecture 1; June 05, Lecture 2), followed by a Q and A and was hosted by Gunnlaugur Jonsson, who also introduced both talks.
In this part, Peterson talks about how to inspire others and how to best go about self-improvement.

Inspiring is close to encouraging others because famous people inspire the whole world but it can not
change anything for that person in a positive way

His formula for incremental improvement is great for most aspects of life but I wouldn't recommend it to a crack addict. LOL
That being said it's important to rationally measure the successes and failures in various areas of life if you really want to improve your life.

As a recovering alcoholic addict with 27 years clean......trying to wean off of hard stuff like crack, heroin and such without medical supervision is dangerous and almost never works.
Admittedly, the medical industry tries to wean off the addict with substitute drugs over the course of years and really only 6 months should be needed.
But I'll never criticize any addicts method to get clean if is producing results for that individual.

If you want to inspire someone, be something or have something that other people want. That's why i have no clue why he tries to give people dating advice. His wife is a gargoyle

Other than his comment about leading by example (which I feel is kind of the standard) I didn’t feel he gave much great insight here. Kinda rambled and the gamer example didn’t have the greatest strategy imo.

Jordan has a god-like view of his self as being a fit leader of morality. He wants you to believe that if you could only be as wonderful as is he ... your lives would also be wonderful, and the whole world would be wonderful. It was and is unfortunate that that word "psychologist" went to Jordan's "head."
It's exhausting to live around our own narcissism, without also adding on the narcissism that afflicts others.
I suggest that being terrified of the image of a judge-mental god, is the worst sickness to ever infect humanity. “I act as if God exists, and I’m terrified he might.” ~ Jordan Peterson
On the other hand, I believe that this much earlier podcast by Jordan is reasonable, as it is not only short, but it is “down to earth.” The Reason for Almost All Mental Illness Jordan Peterson … th-cam.com/video/OW_zpi2hmI4/w-d-xo.html
