In another pointless comparison, I see how much of more performance do you get going from the baby RTX graphics card, to the big daddy.
Both the graphics cards were sent by Gigabyte.

I don't see how tier-comparisons are "pointless" in fact it's very helpful determining just how much card one needs, no not pointless at all.

It’s pointless because this is like comparing a Lamborghini to a Corolla. If you’re potentially in the market for one, the other is not even on your radar. Determining one’s needs by comparison is definitely useful, but this dichotomy is just humorous.

I have a 3080, 5800x and 32GB RAM @ 3200Mhz and everything runs great for my high standards (especially since I recently got the Odyssey G7 monitor with a 1440p, 240hz display). With that being said though, I think the best bang for buck at least on Nvidia's side would have to be a 3060 ti or a 3070. It's cool to see how powerful the 3090 ti is, but I feel like the cost isn't even close to worth it once you get to the 3080 ti or above. On the other side though, I think the 3050"s price point is pretty good for a more lower-mid tier build for someone who could be wanting to enter the PC side of gaming say for around $700 (especially since GPU prices have finally been falling a lot lately). As for resolution though, I still feel like 4K isn't worth the performance hits just yet, so for 1080p I'd probably try and go for a 3060 or higher or a 3070/3080 if you're wanting great 1440p performance.

Year old comment. But I own a 3070 and it's perfect for 1440p gaming. Does cp2077 ultra low to medium RT. And runs most games good at max settings and low to med RT without too big of a performance hit. I've since upgraded to a 7900xt and an ultrawide monitor though.

I'd rather have faster/smoother framerates than raytracing that you hardly notice while playing as you are concentrating on the playing, not shadows etc, plus the way light and shadows are now programmed/faked in game it's hard to tell the difference in many situations. Linus just had a video not too long ago where most couldn't tell the difference when raytracing was off or on.
