When looking at a threaded object hanging down instead of facing up, it’s not reverse threaded but you have to turn the wrench clockwise to loosen. If you were to flip it upside down, or on its side, that same clockwise motion becomes counterclockwise to loosen.
Matt, It is a good idea to wipe a little Olive Oil on the O-Ring just before reinstalling cylinder. This lubricates the O-Ring and prevents it from tearing while tightening it up. Not lubricating it could cause it to tear or stretch when tightened. The reason you use Olive Oil is it will never harm anything and is non toxic. It will also NOT harm the ribber O-Ring. I have the same style in my home for my whole house water filtration system and that is what the Company I purchased them from recommended to me.
I'm sure that Obsessed Garage will be reviewing the Active 2.3 with requires 4.8 GPM inlet water. If the Spotless system can only handle 2.5 GPM, then are these two systems incompatible? If you have 4.8 GPM going into the deionized water system, will you still get 4.8 GPM out but only part of the water treated, or will you get reduced output which would preclude you from connecting the Active 2.3 pressure washer?
You mention the “TDS Meter” rarely read above 0. Is that what Indicates replacement? I’ve thought about getting the wall mount system, but to replace the filters after every 300 gallons of water is cost prohibitive for me. Obviously, you’ve got more use due to having fairly soft water. I’m in ATL and our water isn’t horrible, but definitely a bit harder than what you’ve got down in FL.
That's correct. The CR resin replacement program would be sound if you are using lots of water or yours is harder and requiring replacement more often.
Matt - have you heard any feedback from CR yet about the modification of the system to maximize the resin in the canister? I live in Arizona and my water is horrible so I'm wondering if that's the best way to go long term once my initial cartridge resin wears out. I'm worried that the additional resin will decrease the flow rate through the system too much and the pressure washer cycling forever.
I haven't, but my guess is that its a legit option. The only problem would the the mess it make loading and reloading in comparison to these cartridges.
Install pre filters. 1 sediment , 1 carbon block. 10 inch x 2.5 inch. $50 amazon. Inline pressure reduction valve. $10 amazon. Will easily quadruple the lifespan of your resin
Don't most homes have over 4 GPM? So if the water is bypassed, then how do you get spot-free with only about half the water filtered? The Active 2.3 requires 4.8 GPM so would these two systems be incompatible?
I've been in a bit over my head moving into my new office and building OG HQ. I'm also working toward getting my parents and Jared hired. I'll be doing a bunch of episodes and becoming more consistent very soon.
Yeah he turned it counterclockwise when viewing from the bottom of the filter. If the cart was upright and you were looking down, turning the wrench the same direction would be clockwise.
I will never understand why people feel the need to correct superficial mistakes. You guys are just so smart, I am not sure what he would do without you. TH-cam is the only platform I know where two people would argue over two rats fucking in a wool sock.
Rick Smooth when loosening something hanging down like that (instead of a bolt or nut or other object sticking up facing you), you have to turn it clockwise to loosen relative to the top of the object.
As soon as you started I was like "he's going the wrong way" LOL

U want to keep the braided hose on the water inlet side because it helps regulate the flow coming into the CR unit. Thats what John at CR told us.
I was yelling "Nooooo!" to my screen @1:56 :)
Like you i caught absolute hell breaking the threads loose! Its been tightened for like 5 years at least....
"Am I going the right way"? NOOO. YOU"RE NOT! Step away from the equipment! 🤣

CR is really stressed at 2GM. It isn't going to work well with it.
What quick disconnects is used?
do you think you will try to make your own products like AMMO?
Probably not. I would just put the best stuff from other companies in better bottles sourced by me.

I played hell getting the O rings to stay seated the first time. I put a little petroleum jelly on them to help them stick into place.
How do you take them off without the tool ?
It would be hard. You'd need to get a pipe strap wrench.
How Many galons per filters and how much
I can’t unscrew it which way does it turn !??
you should put a light coating of oil on the rubber o rings on the top.
Wd40?
How can I get that set up you did for troy sowers?

I was told by spit water that running a system like this to your pressure washer is bad for the pump head.
Love the videos man. Keep up the great work
3 years and the tds meter still reading 0? You know if the inlet gets more than 2.5gpm it goes through a bypass and skips the filters🙂

Hey Matt, you forgot to grease the o ring
No more podcasts?

Can’t tell right from left when trying to remove canisters and the quick connect doesn’t fit. Very convincing video to promote your business.....
what do you think about the 1 canister version of the CR Spotless for a non-pro? Is that sufficient?
It depends on the pressure washer. Lower flowing ones can work with the single.
Obsessed Garage the pressure washer is a green works 2200 psi which pushed out approx 1100 psi at 1.6 gpm in your epic pressure washer roundup.
You didn’t do this because I just ordered the 6 pack resin replacement did you? Lol 😂
Lefty loosey , righty tighty Matt.
JGreen236 except when you’re looking at it upside down, as when the filter is hanging down from the base.
Re-watch from 2:48 , left is loose right is tight even if the filter is upside down.

Patrick94GSR clockwise is putting it on and counter clockwise is talking it off in most cases, in rear situation's clockwise is taking it off
Wrong way
Ha, ha... Oops...
Lefty lucy, Righty tighty dude.
Don't be a baby Matt, ask your wife nicely 😉
