    I marked levels on the side of my foam cannon bottle with a sharpie to get an accurate measure of soap to water mix. No need to measure each time. This is one of those cases where 'measure once' makes more sense :-)

    Any specific advice about pressure washing wheels on an EV?
    I noticed when pressure washing the wheels and wheel wells that I could see a bright orange high voltage cable. Using high pressure on a high voltage cable may not be the best of ideas. Suggestions on the right type of tip for cleaning EV wheels and wheel wells.

    Hi there,
    What dilution ratio do you use for Break Buster in the Pressol and MTM foam canon? Also, I know Break Buster is super alkaline, so does it degrade the MTM filter and Pressol sprayer head over time?

    • @ObsessedGarageShorts
      @ObsessedGarageShorts  ปีที่แล้ว

      We use Break Buster straight up in both the pressol and the foam cannon, That begin said you can dilute it down to a 1:1 ratio just know if wont be as effective.

  • @macanoon
    @macanoon ปีที่แล้ว +3

    You used less than half of the foam cannon , can you save it for the next wash instead of dumping it in the bucket ? Or does it not keep well ?

    • @YourUserNameSucksx10
      @YourUserNameSucksx10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It does not keep well. The pressure from using it will kill the nozzles and gaskets if the bottle is not open.
      I learned the hard way by leaving it closed. The soap is now squeezing out from the nozzle due to pressure.

    I just thought you could have the tap mounted on the wall alot closer to the bucket to save having such a long bucket filler. Very nice setup, great products.

    • @ObsessedGarageShorts
      @ObsessedGarageShorts  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's set at that hight, so you don't have to bend over to turn it on or off, If you ask me, that's where all hose bibs should be mounted. We do offer shorter hoses though, if you wanted to make a bucket filler closer to the ground.

  • @skr1b
    @skr1b 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How come you guys use 150ml with the dilution when GSF website says 20ml. Seems like a HUGE difference. Are you just not getting good foam with anything less?

    • @ObsessedGarageShorts
      @ObsessedGarageShorts  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you are looking for the maximum foam it can put out 150ml is the number. But you could certainly get away with less than that. its best to try a few diffrent dilutions out and see what works for you.

      Buy a $20 1 or 2 gallon pressurized pump sprayer from harbor freight. Spray the car down with rinseless wash and wash off. Then foam and wash. It works really well and you won't need to worry about sand blasting your car with whatever grit and dirt that's on it. Works better than foam imo. Foam without contact doesn't do much unless it's high PH.

    You guys didn't use a Tire deoxidizer like "Meguiars D14301 Detailer Non Acid Wheel & Tire Cleaner". This gets rid of that brown color on tires as they age. Sure the tire dressing covers that, but tire dressings don't last very long, as the dressing wears off you want a nice black tire underneath so the appearance remains sharp for longer.

    Front bumper is far from dirtiest part of the car, the bottom half of the sides and the rear are always the dirtiest. The front end minus directly behind the front wheels are never really that dirty.

    • @JeanPierreWhite
      @JeanPierreWhite 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is true especially of vehicles that have a low coefficient of drag, the rear gets covered in crud.

      @Jeeper1378 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Admirn i wash my cars weekly so they never get that dirty. Most of the time i use the Mckees Gold sponge with 914/Absolute/etc. if dirtier than usual I prefer to use multiple 500 gsm towels. Start with a pre spray (256:1) with IK or Sure Shot sprayer. I also like to take a throw away Kirkland MF towel and run it on/under the door sills , area right behind the rear tires, the real dirty areas, then dispose of after. Finally use a
      drying aid (OG or Beadmaker). Dry with a 16x16 Rag company Liquid8r and FTW for touch up and jams.

  • @TopKingNL
    @TopKingNL ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Your pre-wash technique is lacklustre. GSF does not remove traffic films and certain soiling, you're literally just rubbing all that into the paintwork by snowfoaming it and then contact washing straight on top of it.
    Plus no separate mitt for the underside of the sills and bumpers, terrible.

    • @JeanPierreWhite
      @JeanPierreWhite 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed. Foam, rinse, and foam again prior to contact wash is the new method promoted by many detailers. The two bucket method has seen its days.
