Hi there James! We didn't find one long term, I think we find Hua Hin a bit sleepy.....? We are still looking, currently in Pattaya with more condo videos to come...... we are always condo shopping in-between our adventures 🤣
Interesting choices of condos. All relatively small with minute poorly equipped kitchens. Coincidentally the same as someone else’s video. Interestingly the 70+ SqM condo at ฿27,000 is priced higher than our 2 bed, 2 bath 80sqM apartment in Portugal and it’s 220 yds from a 4 mile beach! Granted, we don’t have a gym or pool but we do have a full size kitchen with worktops that can be used! 😊

Hi , new subscriber here , love your videos , can I ask a couple questions about this video ,.. I was wondering what month it was that you looked at these units ? , ( I’m going to be in Hua Hin this December) and was interested in staying at either La Casita or the 88 condo I was wondering… do you just walk into the complex and go to the office and see if there are units available, or do you have to call ahead, or go through a real estate agency ? Thanks you !
Hi there! We were there in October. We just walked right in and asked at each place. La Casita gave us a contact number and 88 showed us around. The contact number for LA Casita was in the video but I might have also put if it in the description.. thank you for subscribing, enjoy Hua Hin! 😍👍
Big thumbs up ! As i will be travelling solo I like the area of Marvest condo . Im an active swimmer too and that pool looks wonderful though could be very shallow . Any email address of property? Well done for informative clip .
Hi there! Thank you for your feedback! If you are wanting to do booking before hand, you might be able to line something up through a website called property scout. They have varies places for rent on that site. Hope that helps. 👍 also, look in the description for more info! 😊
Great video. I'm thinking of retiring in Thailand, but have never been to Asia. Have been leaning towards Jomtien because of affordability, baht bus routes, and expat communities. Any chance that you could describe how Hua Hin compares in these attributes? Thanks in advance.
Hi there! We've been to both and what we really like about Jomtien is the beach board walk, we REALLY missed that in Hua Hin. Hua hin is say is quieter then Jomtien, honestly, you can't go wrong with Jomtien for your first place to retire to in Thailand, it has everything you need! ❤️..... baht bus routes are easy and it's still very affordable! Great questions, good in retirement and thank you for watching! 😊
@@wattstraveling Appreciate your response, but still wondering if Hua Hin has baht bus routes and if it has much of an expat community. Also, would I be able to get by okay there without being able to speak Thai?
@KennyT56 👋.... yes you can definitely get by with minimal thai.... but it's always nice to learn some. Hua hin has a big expat community too with lots of organized sports / events like pickle ball, yoga, volleyball and golf. They also have baht bus routes but we never used them because we had a scooter, but many people do! Hope that helps

Hi, thanks for the information. I stayed in la Casita last year and I liked it. I find that prices on Airbnb are quite higher than what you show. The one 450$cad was it with the bedroon separate from the living by a glass door?
Hi there! Honestly, airbnb has gone CRAZY!... it's not the same as it used to be when it first came out.... now it seems as tho greed has taken over and what you'd pay in maybe Canada or the USA is the same price in developing countries.... and that's simply not the actual case if you look local!... i find it frustrating! Yes, 450 with a glass door/separation.... we've stayed in many condos like this, even tho they are small it's nice for what little separation you get. Thank you so much for your feedback, means a lot!
Hi there! If you are only coming to Hua Hin for a few days (I don't know what your budget is, or if you like the beach) but staying central would probably be best..... like around the LA casita area or marvest. They are both close to everything you need. There are so many hotels... there's even a Hilton right on the beach, if that's something you are interested in 👍 Thank you for watching, we appreciate your feedback 😊
@@wattstraveling Thanks for your response. I plan spent a few days in hotel to search for a condo to stay about 1 month. Love to go to night market and seafood. If we really like the area, we might live there when we retire. Casita seems to be a great area. I will check marvest also. This remind me the fun I had while living in Singapore a few years ago.
@Chris-dw6cu we stayed at The Maysa..... but it's out a little ways from the center... we had a scooter so location farther out wasn't a concern for us. We booked the Maysa for just a couple days initially to see if we liked it, we ended up liking it and luckily it was available so we booked it for the month. 👍
@@wattstraveling thanks for sharing your experience. Have you been asked to pay deposits in your monthly rentals in Thailand? I have been communicating with an agent in huahin about a condo there and she quoted me the price 14k baht but also a deposit of 14k. Is this common and if so is there any way to get them to waive the deposit? For me paying a a deposit that high for a one month rental is pure loss since I'll just have to convert it to USD when I leave and receive less back through the conversion. I guess that's one benefit of Airbnb - you don't need to worry about deposits. But the downside is the inflated prices
Hi there Tony! The netting is for birds, so they don't make nests up in the air conditioning Units or poop on the balconies! 👍 Great question! Thanks for watching

@Letitbe5888 hi there! 👋 I feel the biggest difference with these two locations is the beach front. There is no beach road in Hua Hin and that's something we enjoy. We enjoy walking along the beach with all the vendors and restaurants..... we found Hua Hin to be a little more sleepy which could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want. Pattaya is closer to the airport if that's something you have to consider....? Over all it's a person preference or a feeling once you've experienced them both. 👍
@Letitbe5888 yes we are!... still looking for our new home away from home. Off to Albania soon..... we've been in SEA for awhile exploring.... now we are trying something different 👍
Just returned to the UK after living in Thailand for 10 yrs the last year in Hua Hin The prices you are quoting are way above the average for the sq mitreage. I would think that you presented yourselves as a tourist rather than a farang/ expat hence the highly inflated prices you were told
@HeatherDales-tc7er ya, I know what you mean. I just don't know how to get those Farang price quotes when we are looking for a place to stay. It's not like we WANT to pay "tourist" prices, that's what they were quoting us? Hi there 👋 birds can often make nests up on the Air-conditioning units making a messy, and also to just keep them off your balcony.... zero birds = zero poop 🤣🤣🤣👍
When you live in a hot climate you are CONSTANTLY sweating through clothes.... it's not a question of HOW much laundry we have..... we just like to do our own laundry.

@Zerinth hi there. We didn't do any condo videos for Hanoi, because frankly it's not a place is want to live (great to visit) however, we WILL be heading back to Vietnam, Da Nang.... to price condos. We are looking for a home base, while slow traveling to the countries we think we'd like to live in! 👍
@@wattstraveling thank you very much Da Nang was also on my list! (planning slow travel for end of this year)
@@Zerinth Awesome! Have a great time! We love slow travel! ❤️
Why was there netting over the balcony? The holes/grid looked too large to keep insects out.
Hi there 👋 birds can often make nests up on the Air-conditioning units making a messy, and also to just keep them off your balcony.... zero birds = zero poop 🤣🤣🤣👍
hi, is this high season prices??
Hi there, these prices are based on long term (yearly) rental so the high season doesn't apply
@@wattstraveling oh ok and thank you so much
@@wattstravelingcan you do 6 month rental for that price
You did not give a price on the last Maysa unit.
Hi there! The Maysa was booked on airbnb and it was $550 CAD all inclusive! 👍
@@wattstravelingThank you so much for the condo video!
Just how much laundry do you have that you need your own machine? Working full time @ 40 plus hours a week
When you live in a hot climate you are CONSTANTLY sweating through clothes.... it's not a question of HOW much laundry we have..... we just like to do our own laundry.
@@wattstraveling I spend my winters in Mexico and for me a clean shower and pool are more important, I pay $6 and drop my dirty cloths off at a laundry service but I get that you want to do it yourself as we all have something that makes us feel comfortable. Cheers !!
@hardrock55 oh yeah, I'm with you on having a pool 👍
Hello. I wonder of you are still vacationing in Hua Hin. Have Explorer the area south of Hua Hin called Khao Tao?
We came a few days ago, just settling in. We wonder if you know of any “Song Taew” that runs between Hua hin and Khao Tao?
We have a small child so cannot ride scooter with him.
Thanks to anyone who could help answer my question. 😊
Yes, Khao Tao is very nice! We didn't use any "song taew" because we had a scooter, sorry that's one thing we didn't figure out were the routes are. I hope others can answer you
@@wattstravelingthank you so much. We hope to go to cicada and tamarind for some food. I enjoyed watching that video 😊
@@keisun10 thank you.... you'll love the markets! Great Vibes at both
Where are they located in relation to the foreshore?
As you'll see if you watched the video, the locations are in the video. Also, locations are in the description 👍
@@wattstraveling Chill....
@@bikepacker9850I'm completely chill. I was directing you to where you could find the info if you missed it in the video 👍
Would any of these allow my one small cat? 🤔
Hi there.... some buildings allow pets anh some do not.... that's something you'd have to ask when looking.... but you can find lots of buildings that allow pets
What's the price of Maysa?
Hi there! We stayed there 1 month, all inclusive for 550CAD! Thank you so much for asking...... and for watching! 😊
I tried to contact the la casita property comp and no one responded.
That's a shame.... yes, when we went there they gave us the information to call. What can I say, it's Thailand and sometimes answering calls or getting back to you can be a longer process then we'd like.
i love your channel so much information's that expat needs.
Awe, thank you for your feedback! We like to explore countries slowly this way it gives us a good idea whether or not we want to live full time! We like to try and capture all our experiences, good and bad.... to give our community the sense of realism. There are too many channels that only show the rainbows... and for us that's not realistic! Thank you so much for watching, means a lot!
Wha Hin ?? Is that in China
Funny, yes..... I know I don't pronounce it like "who-a hin" like the locals. 🙃
Why not?@@wattstraveling
Still getting used to it. Lol
I just book 2 months stay in la casita.
Oh AWESOME! you'll have to post back and tell us your experience! Have a great time
Can you rent for a year or more please
You can find many options to tact long term for sure! With long term rentals being more afford than short-term 👍
@@wattstraveling thank you so much for your reply I’m thinking of retiring over in Thailand but go and check it out first thank you Norman
Good plan Norman, it's not for everyone. Have a great time
Thanks for your viedo i have booked marvest for 5 nights in june for around 960 baht a night through agoda do you have contact details so i could take for a longer period at a cheaper rate thanks Tony
Hi there Tony! Look in the description I might have left a contact number for the Marvest. 👍
Our realtor Nick is only in Pattaya, and the property scout website will get you in contact with an agent....I really like this site. Hope that helps

Why would they use a Spanish name 😂. Well. Why not. I like the area next to the Hyatt Regency. So quiet
Exactly.... why not! 🤣🤣
Minute 8 that condo layout was horrible. What's with that triangle shape room?
@@tiborzkarate1 🤣🤣🤣 RIGHT!
Why don’t you spend more than 2 seconds on the gyms
Hi Rick! Gyms are hard to film, I wanted to respect the people that are working out. 👍 But, point taken for the next one. 👍
Wua Hin ? I don't need your advice.
🤣.....I didn't say you needed it?
Why the hate? Be nice
Too small n older style
Yeah, some might think these are small.... but honestly, we don't spend much time in the condo.... there's so much to explore! It will say, older buildings are very well built and quite, unlike the newer builds with paper thin walls! 👍
Nah too expensive😒.

It's pronounced whoa hin not whar hin there's so many people get this wrong it's irritating even some Thai say wrong as they got used to going along with it enjoy your stay
Many people pronounce things differently..... I'm curious how YOU pronounce Huawei?...... is it
whoa -wei? I speak and pronounce things as they are in English..... we had a great stay thank you 😁
@@wattstraveling not differently correctly it's amazing how people cannot accept there wrong and take some friendly advice,it's Thai not English glad having good time
@garyhind1405 I understand how people can't accept when THEY ARE wrong..... but I don't read or speak Thai only English so when I'm trying to learn how to pronounce things, I sound it out in English and yup.... I'll get them wrong.... like many people do.....traveling is all about learning, and that's exactly what I'm doing. 👍
@@wattstraveling ok that's great glad could help
Overpriced for the region.
Well, if you think these are over priced you might like this week's video! 👍
I'm curious to know what your experience is with rentals in Hua Hin, we traveled all over the region and this seemed to be the range of pricing for 1 bedrooms?
@@wattstravelingyes it definitely seems to depend on how long you want to contract for even directly through the owners. We were walking into condos south and north of Hua Hin and asking the juristic office if they had any long stay. We've bargained our price down by having a six month contract rather than month to month.
Yes, definitely get a better deal if you can stay longer! 👍
Hwa Hin (Hua Hin)
Lol...yes.....I understand it's who"a" hin.....I can't be the only English person who pronounces it as it's spelled 🤣🤣🤣
