    Nice place! We were also got lucky enough to find a very nice 1 bedroom off Chang Klan area, in Chiang Mai (20 minutes walk to night bazaar, )with access from bedroom and living room to balcony big kitchen with so many cabinets. Big bathroom with separate shower on the top floor (5th floor) only 4 units per floor for 9000 baht ($245 US) If you have the patience, you can find really good deals in non tourist area. My wife and I are both from CA and are retired early and living it up!! Thanks for your videos.

    Some folks (very few obviously) responded that they FOR SURE knew of nicer places than this for the money. I challenged every one of them -- with a direct comment -- to name a nicer place, within 10 mins of the Old City -- WITHIN $200 USD per month of this price!!!
    And to name it with a link to the building.
    Guess how many responded? Zero. ;-) Pics or it didn't happen, folks. "Trust me bro" ain't gonna work for people who just want honesty and help finding a fantastic place at a super low place, in a secure building in a great location!
    Zero response is exactly what I expected ;-) I even gave them a $200 USD/month buffer and still nothing.

      There seems to be a group of people who can't bear to accept that someone has found, and is sharing, a better bargain than they can find. Videos like this always seem to attract one or two comments assuring us that it's possible to find bigger, better cheaper etc. I'm pretty sure they're always wrong. This is fantastic value for money, even in Chiang Mai!

    • @OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony
      @OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ Nigel. I very much appreciate your comment.
      I have been traveling the world and living in multiple foreign countries for the better part of 8 years.
      On any given stay it is a CERTAINTY that some dirty noob will claim they live at the Four Seasons for $147 / month and their food budget is $194 / month (even though they drink alcohol).
      Now I’m not saying that the apartment in my video (at that price) absolutely can’t be beat…
      I’m just saying I’m highly skeptical it can be beat given the parameters:
      10 mins or less from Old City Wall
      $275/month or less
      Super secure / cameras / modern entry
      Excellent, secure motorbike area
      Super nice staff
      No surprises in price ever
      Month to month
      Beautiful peaceful neighborhood
      Super clean
      Nice view
      NICE Fridge
      Brand new washer/dryer on my balcony
      Kitchen
      SmartTV HDTV with cable (no extra charge)
      HUGE expensive and comfy bed
      Quite large apartment
      I’m sure SOMETHING can beat the deals I present.
      But more often than not it’s a dirty noob with a BS story about how they eat steak every night for .45 cents and their rent is $45 at The Ritz.
      Links and proof. Or. It. Didn’t. Happen.

    • @OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony
      @OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This was the first time I was well into the burning season.
      I have to say the air quality is very concerning.
      I would leave at the beginning of March and stay away for a few months.
      I left a bit later and it was indeed quite bad.
      I think the sweet spot is leaving in late February and staying away for a few months.
      The air quality is bad enough , starting in March, that over many years it could really be bad for your health.
      Prob some people leave for other countries around Asia and then come back after a few months when the rains in Chiang Mai make the burning season end.

I also really like ceiling fans to cut down on air conditioning. I am from the USA, and looking to get into a Thailand visa when able, only to wonder how long I could stay. Hi Scott. You are very lucky. I am seriously considering living in Chiang Mai. I have a thousand questions. Is there any way to chat with you? My name is Mike. Take care.

      Sure. Ask me your top 3 questions and I’ll answer them right here in the next couple days.

      That is true that I am lucky. A deal like this is not that easy to find (I think).
      However I would say anyone can find something nice in Chiang Mai below $500 USD/month.

      Yeah. It’s a wonderful building, owner and location. Really lovely and feels more authentic than Nimman area. Much more.

      @OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony  ปีที่แล้ว

      there are ceiling fans in both rooms but there is no AC. You definitely won't need it in Nov/Dec/Jan.
      In Feb/March it does get a bit hot, but nothing terrible -- at least in my opinion.@@scotsaul

      Hi Scott. I really think you need a financial planner for that question. Somewhat younger guys with no health issues and who want to live well (nice place, nice gym, yoga, alcohol, fancy restaurants sometimes) generally live in Chiang Mai for around )$1200 / month.
