- $250 Thailand APARTMENT!!
Chiang Mai…
That’s a cheap Chiang Mai Apartment!
This is the FULL video of my insanely inexpensive apartment in the large city of Chiang Mai in the North of Thailand.
Yes, you read that right.
250 US Dollars per month.
Please enjoy.
Safe Travels and Be Well!!
#thailand #apartment
Been here 3 weeks and still just loving this apartment.
It's so peaceful here and Chiang Mai is just as lovely as I remember it.
Great, cozy apartment, enjoy!
Thanks Patricia!
Great place !
Yeah!!
Love the Windows of this apartment, including in the bathroom which must face South or West for afternoon sunshine!
I think fondly about this apartment often.
I had many joyous weeks there!!
Great apartment and such great value!
Yeah!!
Love it!
Amazing apartment! Would love to have a place like that
Amazing positive energy at this building
Good One, cheers
Thanks!
Nice apartment!
Thanks!! I am super enjoying it.
Sweet!
Yeah. It’s a wonderful building, owner and location. Really lovely and feels more authentic than Nimman area. Much more.
Nice place man! I'm getting things ready to leave the US, hopefully by Thanksgiving or Christmas at the latest. I'm looking at the Philippines, Mexico and Thailand (Chiang Mai). I should be able to find decent rent wherever I go as I won't be wanting to live in or too near the city centers. Hope I can find a place with low rent that's as nice as yours! There's so much to sort out, figuring out all the ins and outs of visas in different countries, etc. Hopefully by the time I pick a place and leave here, I'll know what I'm doing! lol
Good luck with your exciting move!!
Remember one thing about Chiang Mai is that the air quality is really bad between March and June. You may want to be elsewhere for those months.
Lovely what is the name of the apartment it seems so nice here
I live in the Maya area, Your apartment is BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have a nice place with a pool; do you have a pool there?
Yeah, It was really really nice. Also nice that nobody could look in from too close. You really felt nice in there. There is no pool. Owners are very nice and trustworthy. I love the 10 minute ride into the old city. Perfect amount to feel "away from it all" but close.
Wow 😯
Yep, it was a stunner!
I stayed at Le Vieng Ping, nearby. Also great rates
Very cool!! Isn’t this a lovely neighborhood? I almost didn’t post the video out of sheer selfishness 😂😂😂
That west facing wall of windows is going to get very very hot... the apartment looks nice. The neighborhood is nice too.
Good point!!
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony Did you have to get a Thai-speaking person to get it down to $250? If not, do you think locals could've gotten your apartment for even cheaper than that?
very nice place, any problems with mosquitos with so much openness?
There is the occasional mosquito or two. However, I draped a huge mosquito net around the bed to sleep peacefully.
well Done , bro
Thanks!! Such a nice stay
Nice place . Prefer air con but great price. I've just subscribed. Cheers
Thank you so much!! There is an AC unit - I just don’t use it.
Thanks for watching.
Many Thailand videos coming!
Your room does have AC? - WOW@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony
there are ceiling fans in both rooms but there is no AC. You definitely won't need it in Nov/Dec/Jan.
In Feb/March it does get a bit hot, but nothing terrible -- at least in my opinion.@@scotsaul
Really nice condo
It’s a lovely place to live and a great vibe if you don’t mind being just a bit far from the action in a sleepy neighborhood.
Hello Scott. I have enjoyed your video's thanks for posting. I'm living in Nong Hoi at the CM Riverside Condominium. My place is great but with me still traveling quite a bit this place of yours is way better priced for long term rental. Can you give me the name of the apartment please ?
Sure! Send me an email at

Whats the second music track name? Thanks :)
Oh I’m sorry I don’t remember.
Vere nice
The building is so nice!
Hey !
Thanks for sharing.
How long are you going to stay there ? I'm moving from France to Thaïland in June, and looking for a similar place, similar price, in Chiang Mai too.
I have left already
The building is called Dee Dee Court
It is searchable on Google.
Swing by and see if there’s a unit you like.
The building owners are wonderful people.
You will likely need a scooter to enjoy that location though.
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony Thank you for all your answers 🙏
Keep on having a good time !
What about bugs with the open windows? No screens? No a/c?
I kept those windows closed, mostly. Mosquitos didn't really come in that much for some reason. No idea why. There was a huge mosquito net around the bed for peaceful sleeping just in case.
my head exploded
Mission accomplished 😎
I'll be there toward the end of the year and I was wondering if we could meet up? I would love to live there for my retirement years, I'm 63 yoa male.
I will not be in Thailand for a while.
Have a great trip!!
is the process of getting an apartment in Thiland difficult ? like how many hops do you gotta jump thru ?
Lots of apartments are easy - especially if you sign a 3 month contrqct
But there are also a bunch where you can do month to month in the Nimman neighborhood.
No aircon ?
I paid about the same for kind of a dump there. But no uts. But great place. Thanks.
Right on Robert. Thanks for watching. More Thailand videos coming.
So tell me Scott, what do you do for a living now that you travel full time? Are you living off your savings? Really great apartment for the price, wife and I want to explore Thailand. Is February or March a good time to visit?
March can be rough in Chiang Mai. They burn the fields and it can be quite unpleasant. But sometimes it’s ok. You never know.
Even February can be bad. It just depends.
Thanks Rob!!
I do different things depending on the year. Some of it is definitely savings.
My budget around the world is usually around $1200/month so far.
I’d like to see what I could do with $10k a month though 😂😂😂
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony At 10k you're flying high!!
@@robcanad fo sho!
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony it never really bothered me. Better than the Bkk heat.
Very nice apartment given the cost ! Shame about the no air conditioning though, a deal breaker for me.
It has AC 😎. I just don’t use it.
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony Nice ! Is that in the lounge area as well as the bedroom? Couldn't imagine where it is in the lounge with all those awesome windows.
It is in the bedroom next to the bed but up high.
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony I see it now - nice :D
With that air flow...There's no need for AC...plus AC spew chemicals into the air..Better without
Looks like a 3rd floor walk up. No elevator.
That’s true.
That would be a problem for some.
In Vietnam I had a 6 floor walk up.
So this is a piece of cake 😎
Since you are friend of a man in the business, I want to say yes, what I would look for is a one bedroom, with room for a bicycle, a good reading chair by a screened window, fully furnished with a refrigerator, study desk, with even the pots, pans, and eating utensils, and kitchen ware to go with the apartment. I also really like ceiling fans to cut down on air conditioning. I am from the USA, and looking to get into a Thailand visa when able, only to wonder how long I could stay. I might even want to die there, whereas I am 72, and have no one to return to.......All if I am able.
You also may want to look into living in Pattaya because I think maybe you would not have to deal with the terrible air quality of burning season which lasts for months. It is really a problem and something you must consider.
Thank you. I will check it out. I have considered Pai for it's cool nights. Yes, there are many considerations. And as far as furnished kitchen ware, a basic eclectic collection from thrift stores would be totally acceptable for a guy like me who looks for economy. I am 72 and not looking for party town, but just down home tranquility with enough people around to reach out to, and get to know, and enough available good and services. @@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony
Hi Scott. You are very lucky. I am seriously considering living in Chiang Mai. I have a thousand questions. Is there any way to chat with you? My name is Mike. Take care.
Sure. Ask me your top 3 questions and I’ll answer them right here in the next couple days.
That is true that I am lucky. A deal like this is not that easy to find (I think).
However I would say anyone can find something nice in Chiang Mai below $500 USD/month.
Is it close to the market and 7-11?
Yes. Very close if you have a scooter. Super close. If not, it’s a long walk.
Gee thats cheap great price would like to retire in chang mai would 20million baht and pension last me at least ten years living in Thailand thank you from Scott new Zealand
Hi Scott. I really think you need a financial planner for that question. Somewhat younger guys with no health issues and who want to live well (nice place, nice gym, yoga, alcohol, fancy restaurants sometimes) generally live in Chiang Mai for around )$1200 / month.
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony thank you for your advice from Scott new Zealand
Do u have to escape the burning season for 3-4 months? If not, how do u deal with it?
This was the first time I was well into the burning season.
I have to say the air quality is very concerning.
I would leave at the beginning of March and stay away for a few months.
I left a bit later and it was indeed quite bad.
I think the sweet spot is leaving in late February and staying away for a few months.
The air quality is bad enough , starting in March, that over many years it could really be bad for your health.
Prob some people leave for other countries around Asia and then come back after a few months when the rains in Chiang Mai make the burning season end.
How do you get to rent here? I'm looking for this type of apartment
Let me check it out!!
Pay by the month or long term lease?
By the month. 2 - 3 month minimum.
Any availability for this building, I'm hunting for a place starting from Mid-March.
I will check it out !
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony Cheers mate
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony Any news?
No AC and no glass or screens in the windows? Not ready to campout
For sure it gets more luxurious in Chiang Mai if you spend triple this price or more. Which still isn’t that much money so that’s good news!
What is name of complex please?
Dee Dee court. It is searchable on Google maps in Chiang Mai. It’s just across the ping river from the old city next to a golf course
I am living near Park hotel on Chanklan road Could u possibly share the exact address of ur place? I'm planning to move
Sure. It comes up as Dee Dee Court on Google maps
It’s next to a golf course about a 10 min scooter ride from the old city.
yearly contract I suppose
Minimum 2 months I think
Can do one month?
I think so!
And the border run ???. 😮wake up 😅
I don’t get it. What do you mean?
no offense, but I don't see anything wow there 🤔
None taken. Everyone has different criteria for what they consider an amazing deal or an ideal living environment.
No toilet ? Lol
Whoops!! Did I forget to show the bathroom? I can’t remember
What a mess......
Weird
@@OneWayTicketwithScottAnthony It is weird, a crampy messy place in the most polluted City in the world.......and then to be happy ha ha ha You must be used to hell or come from the USA
@@Ron-rk6iz what are you waffling about 💀
Mosquito's with no screens 😕
The mosquito situation is not bad at all. However, at night I did use a mosquito net around the bed to make life easier.
Amazing apartment for 230!!
How could l send u a private message? Tks
