Was able to get an EVGA RTX 3080 12g for $999 directly from Amazon paired with an I5-12600k for my first PC build.. Super exciting yet very nerve racking making the right choices and putting it all together! Great video.
Same bro but mines is 12700k and man it works amazing. Just to give you some advance to bring down those temps just undervolt it, km getting 56c while playing and the highest at 66c. Enjoy

@@Invertmini1212 definitely I mean you can look at a few more videos to see but I’m pretty sure you’ll be fine. My 12700k runs cool. Plus I’m water cooling so it’s a cool machine. If anything just undervolt it a little and you’ll be fine

I have 2080 ti is it worth it jumping up to a 3080 only could afford around 1k
I think the power supply recommendation is based on the power spikes these GPUs produce, tripping OPP doesn't feel good.
Anyhow I'm a big proponent of undervolting, that'd be the first I'd do if I had a 3080.
Could be I suppose, but I've been running a 5950X + this 3080 for the last few weeks with not a single issue. But yeah.. 750 is def safer, but you could get away with a good quality 650 unit IMO - not that I would really recommend that though.

After 2 years and affordability, I will receive mine on 01/25/23. Yes, I know there are newer ones but as said affordability and bought right from EVGA directly was important.
FINALLY!!!!!!!!! I got lucky with the NewEgg Shuffle and got a 3070 at retail price back in June. I just now finally got my EVGA email stating that my StepUp to this card got approved! I Just paid the price difference POG!!!

I just got my Step 3 email today. I'm still deciding whether or not I want to upgrade to this card. This is the card I chose but I currently have a 3070 Ti and with the new price + tax and shipping it's $203 to make the upgrade. Well, plus my shipping to send this one back. So Maybe $220 or so. But it will be to gain about 15 fps and the 3080 runs about 8-10 degrees warmer than the one I have. So I'm debating on what to do. I guess I'll decide in that 7 day window if it's worth it. If was coming from a 3060 or something it would be a no-brainer.

Not a bad price at all. We tend to forget that tariffs were 25%. So msrp might be $700 but this is a custom design and there was the tariffs too. Soooo. Not to shabby at all imo
still waiting for my 3080 ftw3 ultra, 5600x and corsair rm850x to arrive.... yahoooo...

I got the exact same card paired with a 5900X, built in a corsair 4000D Airflow - On idle the GPU runs 39°C on idle and 60-65°C on full load!
Nice! I am actually going to be doing a build with the 4000D (probably) + 5950X + this card haha.. Curious to see how the temps drop!
How? Mind at idle is 50C and full load is 77C

Hey what’s the difference between 3080 12gb and 3080 10gb and what’s the difference between LHR and non LHR I mainly play warzone and was looking to upgrade my gpu
Even on long gaming sessions mine has never gone above 75° celcius but usually it runs between 68-73ish
I imagine you have a pretty open case? I tested this in an ITX for this build, but overall it was quite cool in my Corsair 4000D when I switched to that!
Evga just contacted me today about this card that’s available for me to buy it, have 20 hours to buy it. $920
A day after I was able to buy the 12GB model at Best Buy for $1440

So probably a tad higher on a Ryzen 5000 at 1080p. Still awesome
Yeah you'd see a little more performance on Ryzen 5000. Still very very solid. Nice, quiet, and relatively cool!

Just completed a build with one of these bad boys and I used the recommended evga 750w gold for the psu. Kept crashing after an hour or so of gaming. Sometimes during play...sometimes after exiting the pause menu. Never got a blue screen of death, just a restart. I figured maybe faulty memory, so I changed that out for a couple known good sticks from my old rig. Same thing. After a few days of rebuilding and re-checking every connection....same thing. Then I came across a post that was very similar to mine that was solved when the power supply was upgraded to a 1000w psu. Well boys and girls....that fixed it.
Yeah these GPUs can pull up to 430W I think it is... That can easily cause some major issues with PSUs that don't have enough power for sure!
I have a 850 gold power supply and I never experienced that
@@AmazingHaze420 Same but he might have top end components like the i9 12900K, water cooling, or alot of LEDs that require more power consumption. He might have 2 rtx 3080s running that can't run stable on a 750 or 850 watt psu.
Kinda concerned about the thermals but that case doesn't seem conducive to good temps.
It isn’t at all lol. I moved it to the 4000D and temps are very good in it. 60-75 usually in game
Hey, I see that you're still replying to comments so I figure why not. I just picked up this card the (10gb model to be exact) and I have it paired with a ryzen 7 5800x, 16gb of 3200mghz ram, 850 watt psu, and a asus tuf x-570 plus mb. I mainly play fornite and I do a good amount of other things but when I searched up other peoples gameplay on low settings 1080p they are getting about 400 fps in game. I struggle to get 200. I am on windows 11, I've reinstalled the gpu drivers and reinstalled the game. I've also went into the nvidia control panel and have done others recommended settings and still nothing. Any ideas?
Could be a lot of things
I’d first check to make sure your memory is indeed set to 3200mhz in the bios.
Then I’d make sure your cpu isn’t thermal throttling. What type of temps do you get in game? Do you need a better cooler?
Also check your GPU temps. Is it thermal throttling?
And lastly how is your connection to the internet? Something a lot of people forget to think about and mention is that if your connection to the server isn’t that great (or say you live far from it), FPS could be bottlenecked by that too. That’s just a limitation you can’t really do anything about or the very least possibly connect via Ethernet to improve.
Also I’m curious about this too. How is the performance at max settings? Same as at low settings? That would point to a CPU bottleneck (thermal throttling or memory bandwidth throttling).
Stupid frame rates. I wish they would add a button to turn off the RGB for people that don’t want it. I know you can do it with software, but it’s just nice to have.
You know.. funny you say that about RGB.. I recorded an unboxing of a mobo recently and it has a RGB switch on it... really cool IMO and I 100% agree with you on that.
I have the 3070ti of this one. Do you think it’s worth the update to the 3080.

@@LehmonMedia seems to be the problem for people like me tho. Not everyone has the 3080 ftw3 hybrid. So there’s not a whole lot of videos on it. So it made me go looking for standard ftw3 videos. A bit more on them. But nothing too in depth. But yea I’d love for you to make a video for people like me who want to update the bios and might have not known how to prior or where to start for that info
i recently got the same card and i am getting 60c when i am not even gaming in an Lian li cool 2 case, is that normal? And ealier i was playing The Crew 2 at max settings on a 4k tv and the card was really hot i thought it will burn or something
Well couple questions.
1) what is your ambient (room) temp?
2) do you have fans for exhaust/intake?
3) what were the temps during the crew 2?

How do you know if it's LHR?
You can look up the Part number. Lots of times it’ll say LHR in the description on like Microcenters website or Newegg or something.

Hi i have a question that i need a quick answer from you or anybody!! looking to get this card im just wondering if i need to get a whole new motherboard with it or am i good just getting the gpu? will i be good to get this gpu with my MSI mpg z390 motherboard ?? please answer somebody i want to purchace this card while it is on sale i just dont know if i need a different motherboard
That motherboard would work fine. Just make sure you have enough wattage PSU wise.
80c on a card like that in that case is very respectale. still a beast of a card for 1440p or 4k depedning on game choice.
Yeah it's actually really solid especially since it's in a mini-itx case and IS NOT that loud. It's VERY reasonable IMO. I like the card overall.. gonna get it in a larger case though to help give it some more air haha... I have a "SUPER OP Build" coming up in the next month or so.

I'd be happy with it. I saw this YESTERDAY at a Microcenter for $1100. Prices have been dipping, but there's not promises that will sustain with mining profits increasing over last couple weeks.
