I also hate the idea of paying more than $500 for a GPU, but I've done it twice now and been able to hold out an extra generation without needing to upgrade because of it.
Paying over $1000 is just ridiculous though.
im longing for the day when dropping 750 on a gpu meant you were going all out and 500 was the sweet spot.

so you said doom eternal is getting 300 frames in 1080p but didnt say what resolution valheim was being played at with 40 fps. i know this is not a channel with benchmarking but remembering to mention stuff like that always would be appreciated
did not know +tek was an advid ltt watcher
5:30 He said it. "I normally get 18 fps at 1080"
he said he normally gets 18 fps ON 1080. which could, in this context, very well mean the GTX 1080, perhaps his own personal graphics card.
also let's assume he said "18 fps at 1080". then what was the 40 fps footage? 360p? on an rtx 3080 ti?
I'm super relieved Linus didn't do this video. Thanks Alex.
Im gonna get one of these on ebay in about 5 years, to finally replace the 1080ti ftw3 i got for $250 when everyone was panic selling for the 30 series 😂
No one cares
And at no point will you struggle to play any games.
Oh look, less than 5 years and I got mine for $250 again. What a steal for EVGA's final run!

Yep, just went down to Best Buy and bought one. No drama, they had 6-7 of them (limit one per customer per day) so I grabbed one and walked to checkout.

evga cards are beautiful, shame they quit the market
Are the little three clicks on the left channel electric noise? I thought my fan was about to blow up hahaha
Why did it report 24000 MB or 24 gb of VRAM in doom eternal?
Hmmm
Nice catch.

@@DeadpoolPlayz Well, except the 3090, that's a workstation card mislabeled as a GeForce card when it should have had the Titan branding. Especially cause it's a major step up from the workstation Titan RTX for $1000 less, which is a much more favorable comparison for it than being compared to the 3080 for $700~
Can we all agree that the star of the show is that rear case fan dancing up a storm?
It's hard to find a gpu PERIOD lol
Depends on where you live and what you are looking for. There are plenty of 6700XT’s, 16-series cards and 2060’s in Europe, though the prices fluctuate wildly. 3060’s can be found as well with some patience, but 6800 and up and 3060 ti and up are a gamle.
@@devilboner wait, soo you can find 2060 Supers in Europe? I'm living there and to be honest I don't remember seeing a reasonably priced unit in the last couple of months.
Well i cant find CPU in my area
@@a1216b didn’t write Supers, though I have seen a few here and there. And I did not write anything about reasonable prices either, as I actually wrote the prices fluctuate wildly. Sometimes I see reasonable prices, though, especially with new releases, but the prices are quick to jack up to real market prices right after the release. If you live in the EU and are on the lookout for GPU’s or CPU’s, you should check out the German site Mind Factory. It’s first come, first served, so you have to be quick, when the cards drop, but it seems they get good stock and are not plagued by bots, so if you see a card available, you should be able to get it.

man it's fun how 80% of a GPU is just cooling and a shiny backplate
Honestly I dont mind second hand, its just that itll take a year at the very least to see acceptable second hand priced on these cards. Till then, Ill keep using RX570 to enjoy high-ultra 1080p, if you need a gou now RX570-580-590 from Sapphire do provide great 1080 experience.

Pretty sure they only produce enough cards to send to reviewers

Spinning a cooling fan manually won't do shit - they're brushless impulse-driven motors, which don't generate power when spun. There will be some induced current in the drive coils when the fan is spun, but the motor drive controller will shunt those when not powered from an external source.
