  • The legendary Chevrolet Impala lives on in 2020. Could this be the last year? Check out what has changed between the 2019 and 2020 model years. This nameplate has been around since 1958 and we question if it will stay.
This particular Chevy Impala is available at Spitzer Chevrolet in Amherst Ohio. If you are interested in this vehicle or any of our other inventory please contact me at 440-212-5348 or by emailing Jsolanics@Spitzer.com. Below will be a link to see our inventory.

Believe it or not, I have a 2014 I bought brand new in Sept. 2013 and only have 25K on it. But I have my job and everywhere else I need to go within just a couple miles of where I live so most of the time I'll only drive it like some 5 or 6 miles a day.

My 2015 Impala LS 4cyl has 137k and still the original engine/transmission (dealer maintained by the owners manual), drives like a new car but I do need front struts now and my check engine light is on ($100 sensor), but runs fine and everything in it still works. My grandad has a 2014 Impala LT V6 (same bodystyle) with about 50k miles (more than most 86 year old's would have lol) and of course still drives as good as mine but faster lol. Love these underrated Chevy's, especially since my grandad helped build them from the 1950's-1980's. I'll trade mine in late this year for a 2020 Impala Premier (I want the V6 and push-button start) if the price is right and keep it until cars fly.

Yeah my ‘16 just got to 55k and still feels like a new car. Next to a 2020 there’s no virtual difference. No reason to need another car anytime soon. I’ve been so happy with it. Only regret is not looking for a sunroof and the push button start. Hopefully, they aggressively restyle the impala and bring it back after a few years.

Have to say that I love the Impala! I grew up with them in my family, my mom and dad always had two cars and one of them was always an Impala. I got a 2012 in 2015 and I love it, 300hp, sunroof, rear spoiler and aluminum rims. It's a tuff little car and has everything I need on it. The next car I get is going to be this new body style Impala, hopefully the 2020!

People keep saying that they should have made it V8 and rear wheel drive.... If you all know anything Chevrolet did make a V8 rear wheel drive sedan... Called the SS. Made the years of 14-17' ... no one bought it. They also did a sorry job of promoting it.

No one bought it because Chevy didn't promote it, Chevy didn't promote it because GM didn't want you to buy one. GM wanted you to get the v8 Camaro with lots of over priced accessories if you want performance or a Cadillac/Buick if you thought you were fancy because GM makes more money off those vehicles.

    • @Mac_DNH
      @Mac_DNH 3 ปีที่แล้ว

@@cheesefries7436 it was just to fulfill an obligation to Holden that's the only reason why they brought the car over to the US.
Marketing wasn't the problem. People just don't want to pay the price for them. MOPAR people will pay for the chargers. Chevy people don't seem to be interested in a sedan... they talk the shit but go buy a Camaro.

Same engine as my '14 ltz, the 3.6 V6 @305 hp. My wife claims she loves the acceleration from a stop light, she can confidently pull ahead and cut someone off. My experience is it's no race car, but an excellent cruiser. This car eats the miles on a road trip, rides a little stiff but comfortable. I set the cruise on 75 because the car will creep up to 90 and it feels just as competent. A trip from Indy to Disney I was able to get 32mpg running the AC the whole time.
Didn't realize I liked the car this much. I've had a Cadillac CTS, Buick Reagle, Bonneville SSEi, Infinity g35x, and this is the only car I want a second copy.

I have a 2014 Chevy Impala 2LT, and yes it still looks the same as the 2020; however there are some extras as this is the Premier model. I am so happy that GM got rid of that 2.5 litre sewing machine engine. I really like the 3.6 litre as it has awesome passing abilities, as I seldom ever pass anyone but everyone passes me as I always have it on cruise control at 80 km/h. Oh yes, I am from Ontario, Canada. I do however, would like to let people know that I have owned a 2005, 2013, and my present 2014 Impala and the 2005 and 2014 both will smoke the tires at 80 kms/h if you punch it, I Love the Power!! There are some small annoyances that my Impala has developed, sch as a squeak in the steering wheel under that horn cover, and now after being to my GM garage, I have been notified that the Transmission Cooler lines are both leaking and to have them both changed, not sure why the connections cannot be tightened but anyway, and this is going to be a $400 touch, ouch!! Other than those issues, I truely LOVE MY 2014 CHEVY IMPALA!!

Chevy did announce that the Impala was on the to be discontinued list, along with the Camaro and Cruze and possibly another model quite a while back. I haven't seen anything to the contrary. This is a huge shame as the 2015 Impala (the first of this generation) is one of the highest-rated cars in Consumer Reports recent memory. They liked everything about this car, ride, handling, comfort, it's quietness, the drive train and it's a perfect family car with a long drive comfort and driving pleasure.
Of course, the end of the Camaro is really a shame and Chevrolets terrible marketing, refusal to produce a V8 model that is affordable, unlike the SS and ZL1 models. Then they came out with the 2018 redesign with that awful front fascia that drove customers out of the showrooms at a time when sales were already dropping. For 2020, they have finally produced the long need affordable basic model with their 455HP SS V8 that many customers wanted for years. This is the LT1. Likely this is too late to save the car.

HEIDI FISHER Actually, Cruze and Malibu were also on the chopping block. The Cruz is a poorly made car, anyway. Time will tell what we are left with. Did you mean to say SUVs? Silverado absolutely won't be cut. That would kill GM. They sell around 750k of them and they are the twins, essentially. Between the two trucks, they nearly sell as many units as ford sells F150s. 😅

@@heidifisher7693 Silverado is their bread and butter vehicle. Not to worry. As far as the Imapala and Camaro go, I'm right there with you, my friend. Unfortunately, sales numbers are the deciding factor here. Sedans aren't selling and with the Camaro, Chevy has made some big mistakes with engine options, poor styling judgment at times and ZERO advertising. I'm hoping against hope the LT1 will draw a new crowd into dealerships. It's likely too little too late. I also think that while I have no problem with the visibility, a solution should have been worth the expense of retooling would have been money well spent in the long run. I'm not talking about starting from scratch, just raising the roofline strategically enough to satisfy more potential buyers. Mustang ate Camaro's lunch, even though Camaro was in many people's opinions a better handling car that drives much more effortlessly. Not saying that Mustangs are bad cars. Who came along with IRS first and only for a number of years. Who builds the LS engines that are bullet- proof and the first choice for custom and performance car builders? Chevy.

Like a lot of American brand cars (Crown Vic, Imperial/New Yorker, Caprice), they seem to have surrendered the car market to the Asain Brands. I would buy one, but don’t care for the 3.6L engine. You would think a company as large as GM would have “deep pockets” and could create a fleet car division - think early 90’s Roadmasters & Impala’s - full size, decent engine, production run 10 years w/ minor changes (interchangeable parts, engine & body). Think of how they could sweep up the limo/taxi/police car market.

GM ruined the sales of the New Style Impala by making it too expensive for the average Joe to buy one. Impala wasn't originally built to be an expensive luxury car. I wanted a new Impala but too expensive for me. I still have a 2005 and a 2009 Impala. Both dark blue V6s. I hope they'll bring itty back and lower the cost so more families can have one.
