I love this car, but...I gotta be honest, I'm not sure I'll be buying a sedan anytime soon. Maybe after my kids are grown and I can go back to being a "real" adult.
I'm so jealous. My wife had a BMW 3 series years ago before we got hitched and had kids. That car was amazing. Anytime I drive a "luxury" vehicle like a BMW it reminds just how crappy normal cars are in comparison.
100 Rental Cars my bmw is a 2011 bmw 535i 6 speed manual it’s a grey market vehicle meaning that it’s not ideal for the us market i paid only$14k for it a dealership bought it from an auction in Europe and it took two months for it to get here from Europe. It does have some problems occasionally I recently had a charger as a rental car while my bmw had to have a new ac compressor. Parts are a real pain to find for my car.
100 Rental Cars my bimmer has 80k i have a really close freinds he’s only owned bmws but recently he was driving in his 5 series he had a green light and a riced out honda civic comes out of nowhere and t bones him the honda civic t boned his bmw so hard that it tore the wheel off and the insurance company totaled it. He bought it back from the insurance company and i am helping him rebuild it.
paul nadratowski yah it’s in the top 10 best selling cars. SAME THING WITH THE CRUZE EVEN THOUGHT ITS NOT IN THE top 10 but the Cruze is a 3rd best selling sedan for Chevy. The best small selling car for Chevy in fact. Don’t know why they would take it away. They better be bringing the Chevy Cavalier. I’ve SEEN THE new one in person. Sadly it’s only offered in Mexico. Not in the U.S. but thankfully it’s not here because the car is only rated with 94hp. It looks sooo much better than the current Cruze. And looks better than the Malibu too. Not interior wise. But outside looks good. But it’s the size of the Cruze. I would say the size of the VW Jetta and same boxy appearance too.
Chevy needs to think this through, they've killed off the chevy ss so this is a great opportunity, refresh the impala for 2020 and throw the V8 in it And slap an SS badge on it rear wheel drive her and make a great product
Couldn't agree more. I still have my 96 Impala SS that I bought new. Rear wheel drive (with positraction), full frame, 5.7 liter LT1 V8. It now has 305,000 miles. It has been retired from the daily commute and is now a garage queen.
Lol, I have the new model 2Ltz fully loaded, Its a great car no question, but to not have an SS option at all is ridiculous, they did so great on the body and sleek style it only makes sense....at least they could do a farewell limited edition SS, it would sell I'm sure
Omg...I so agree!!! No clue as to why they've gotten rid of the SS...boggles my mind. I have the 2008 SS and I love it? Question....isnt there a newer model of the impala SS other then the 08 model?
For the first time perhaps ever, GM produced a car that Consumer Reports was gushing over..........quiet, attractive, fast, fuel efficient, spacious.......so naturally they discontinue it. Morons.
Nobody is buying cars anymore. Or if they are they are either buying brand names (because it’s a Honda or Toyota-not because it’s actually a better car) or performance oriented (even though the Dodge Charger has poorer performance than the Impala in spite of having RWD). And it’s all based on perceptions. I know because I try and eliminate those and look at things objectively and the Impala came out a winner by a big margin. Room. The Impala is very comfortable. You have to buy an SUV twice the price to get a similar level of comfort. Cargo space. SUV cargo space is misleading if you only look at specs. Heck.. my Honda Civic hatchback has 25 cu ft of cargo space with the seats folded up vs the Impalas 19.9. But that’s only if you stack things up all the way so they are pressing against the hatch glass and ready to impale you with hard braking. Sure there are cages you can get to prevent this.. but most of the time the space is unused. Performance. There is no question that even a large sedan will have better performance because of its sleek design, low centre of gravity and lighter weight. Fuel economy. Same thing. The Impala gets about the same mileage as a dumpy four cylinder GMC Terrain. Again.. thanks to light weight, lower clearance, and sleeker design. Snow/off-road performance. Seriously.. nobody is taking a car-based unibody SUV off-roading. The differences in ground clearance are mere inches. So just gravel backroads which any car can do and in snow. With traction control and FWD.. (which is what a lot of SUVs have anyways) you have 80% of what AWD can do. My Honda Civic even torque vectors to swing the tail around rather than under steering like a FWD will typically do in snow. Nobody really needs AWD. 25 years of driving in the mountains in Canadian winters and I never needed it. Buy the best winter tires you can afford and replace them regularly. Price. This is where the Impala really wins. Since nobody wants them.. the deals are unbelievable. But the consumer has spoken. GM made an awesome effort with this car but the writing has been on the wall for a long time. Zero physical updates in 7 model years says a lot about the manufacturer’s confidence in the vehicle.. and if they don’t have confidence, the consumer definitely won’t.
I had the '17 impala as a rental while my Mazda 6 was in the body shop after someone hit it. Loved it so much that I ended up buying the '18 impala premier! You're absolutely right about the engine, it sounds amazing and I accelerate harder just to hear it.. haha (I know it hurts the gas mileage). You're also right about not realizing how fast you're going in this car! You'll be at 100/110 and feel like you're going maybe 55-65 MPH. I really hope they don't stop making this vehicle.
I just got me a '17 impala with the 3.6 ltr. Like its hard for me to actually put in words how amazing this car is. Ill be so upset if they discontinue it!!
They aren't going to stop making them, they just aren't going to bother to try selling many of the models in the USA anymore they claim they are discontinuing. USA has given GM the middle finger.
I bought the 2018 Premier in March. Traded in my 2014 Cadillac ATS and what a difference in room, and except for a couple things, this car is just as luxurious and comfortable as the Caddy. I love this car. It is a pleasure to drive,a pleasure to own, and so user friendly. I'm 65 now and can honestly say, people don't know what they're missing in a large sedan like this. Thanks for the positive review, The car seems to sell very well in the area that I live in though, throughout the model range.
I am half your senior and I purchased a Chevrolet Impala Premier. I was slightly skeptical about purchasing the vehicle based on a certain surmise about the Impala looks older than my age, and I didn't want the Base or LT, I wanted the Premier.
I just rented one of these 2019 Impala's last week. I was working in Utah and Colorado in some pretty remote places, so, yes, I did open it up a bit. I easily got to 125mph and still had something left but had to back off due to traffic. Very impressive. Also, I drove close to 600 miles and still didn't use all of the gas in the tank. Returned it empty, which was my goal. Again, very impressive. I was on some very curvy roads and went over a peak so there was a lot of acceleration and deceleration involved. Handles extremely well. Why Chevrolet is discontinuing this car is beyond me. I liked it a lot. May even buy one.
I still can’t believe they discontinued this but kept the Malibu. IMO this was the best full sized sedan around. Granted it wasn’t as “stylish” as the Camry but I’d definitely pick it over any of the other stuff.
I own a 2014 Impala LTZ fully loaded and the car perform perfectly without one problem or warranty repair at 60,000 miles. In your right about the sound of that 3.6 , it's the best sounding v6 around. I ended up traded it in for a 2017 Malibu premier fully loaded and this is where the new car technology is going. 5.3 to 60 quarter-mile comes in at 14.3 at almost 100 mph and top speed is drag limited at 153 mph for a 2.0 turbo. The car is the same height same width and only 7 inches shorter then the Impala. The best gas mileage I got was 39.6 on the highway and for those with a SS you could be in for a surprise. There's a company called Trifecta tune and for $400 and 20 minutes that 2.0 turbo is now pushing 300 hp.
I work at Enterprise Rent a car and I drive these cars all day long. Not gonna lie, this car has really grown on me. Very smooth steering, decent gas mileage, and you’ll turn heads when you’re driving it. Very thorough review man. Keep it up 💪🏾
I am a 19 year old college student. In my senior year of high school I received my first car for my last few months of high school and for college. I have a V6 2008 beige Chevy implala lt I love it to death and have so many memories with it. I originally wanted to lease a brand new impala when I graduated college but now knowing they aren’t going to continuing them I am working and trying to lease a 2019 for my college years and give my mom my 08 impala cause she loves it and is in need of a car. Maybe it’s meant to be.
1974 DODGE MONACO 440 I’m glad to hear that because I have been wanting them to remodel it but I got scared when I heard they might end it. It is such a iconic car.
Cj17 Official hey. Just to warn you as a 17 year old. I have a 2011 impala and it’s the same body style. To MAKE SURE YOU TAKE CARE OF THE of the catalytic converter and power steering pump on the impala because ones the filter in the pump gets too clogged it will starting leaking from the hoses. And the way to notice the catalytic converter going out is when you stop or before you stop the car will idle very very strange to where it feels like the car is going to turn off. Good luck to you and your new impala. I can guarantee that the new one will be faster and that the radio is sooo much better on the newer body style impala. The sound sounds soo low either the bass. I would consider changing the easiest speakers to remove and replace them with kickers DONT get anything higher than 50hz for bass. Get 30hz ones. Change out the 6x9 if they have 6x9 speakers for the newer impala. If you keep the old 08 impala change out the rear deck 6x9 with those 30Hz kicker speakers. And thank me later. Don’t forget the Amp ;)
1974 DODGE MONACO 440 I hope your right, I’m 6’3 and these fit me so great! It’s hard for me to be comfortable even in a lot of larger sedans and these are a dream for me.. my 2018 is the third I’ve own and I’d like to trade in for 2020!
I worked at enterprise a couple months ago and that was easily the best car on the lot. Comfort, tech, and performance, and most importantly AUDIO!!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 my dad has a 66 impala and it’s mean
Yup the Impala is done right after the Ford Taurus. GM hasn't officially announced it yet but the writing is on the wall. The Buick Lacrosse will probably follow, which wont leave much in the mainstream full-size front-wheel-drive segment besides the Nissan Maxima, Toyota Avalon, and Kia Cadenza, all of which sell in low volume these days too.
I got an LT with the 4 cylinder today, I drove it 650 miles before just getting home. The cloth seats weren’t bad but didn’t leave a lasting impression. The 4 cylinder is rated at 29 mpg highway, but going 90 for part of the first half of my trip I averaged 32, second half I averaged just over 32 as well. If I were to buy one I’d get the 4 cylinder, plenty of power and great fuel economy for a full size family sedan, hopefully you’ll be able to try one sometime
Like the impala & when I retire the 2019 will be the upgrade. My 2006 has been great for 11 years with 140k miles so the new one will last me till I croak.
RIP Chevy Impala. This car will be discontinued around June 2019 or so. I own a 2012 Impala LTZ and LOVE it. I've owned it for 5 years and just does what it's suppose to do and that is WORK. I've driven these newer models and enjoyed it. I planned on getting one in about 2 years. My current Impala has 75k miles. If I have the opportunity to get one before they discontinue it I will.
I drive a Volvo XC60, which is in the shop at the moment. I have this vehicle as a rental and man, I love it! A decade ago I drove a Chrysler 300 w/HEMI engine. This reminds me of that car. So smooth and comfortable. A true pleasure to drive. I love the fact that it has wifi. A big plus. Plus, an outlet to plug in your appliances and whatnot. More legroom than I've seen in the backset than I can ever remember seeing in a sedan. I'm sold! What's not to love?
I rented this car from Hertz for numerous years. Always wanted to buy one. Finally bought a 2017 Premiere from an individual. He just drove 6,000 miles a year. And I got the three year old car with 24,800 miles. Every available option. I especially like the massive sun/moonroof. And 20” wheels. Adaptive Cruise Control and Memory Seats. Which were never in my Hertz Rentals. Tritone Red Metallic exterior with Wheat Leather interior sets this apart from the many Impalas out there. Just can’t say enough good about this car. Great review.
Coming from my 08 SS I'm impressed where Chevy upgraded the car, the trunk automatically swings up, everything looks much higher quality, speakers in the rear doors... I want to test drive, I know that 3.6 can give my 5.3 a run for its money
I have owned a number of Impalas over the years. This car shares its platform with the Cadillac and it shows. Incredible car!!! My last Impala went 175,000 miles with only tires battery and brakes replaced. My new one is shaping up to have the same reliability. Big trunk roomy comfy interior great mileage all-around wonderful car.Variable valve timing and direct injection make this thing a real screamer for a 3.6 liter motor......feels like a V-8. Hopefully Chevy continues this car but if they don't I'll be buying one of their last new ones so it'll last me.
Just rented one for a 1,000 mile road trip. I was surprised how nice it performed. Plenty of power, comfortable, roomy, quick enough and surprisingly good gas mileage. G.M. is making a mistake by discontinuing this model.
I bought my 2017 Impala LS brand new and I love it, bought it at the end of the year ,, Dec 2017 and got a great deal,,, I love the V-6 engine,, and as far as a SUV I have a 02 Dodge Ram truck also that still runs great,,
Really like your review! Great car , I have a 2014 and just love it. Your review wants me to go buy the 2019. I’ll miss the impala once it gone! Thanks so much!
I have a Malibu 2013, planning to get a new car I was thinking i might settle for the Malibu 2019, but then i learned it wasnt the biggest sedan out there from Chevvy so i found the impala. One thing that disturbed me was that this was the last of the series which worries me wither i should buy it or not(repair parts stopping production or whats not)
We have this as a rental. I do not like the lack of head room space and the wheel only raises enough for me to squeeze me knees through. I've hit my head getting in and out and I'm 6ft. Nice and comfortable once in it and the large trunk handled ALL our luggage -no problem. It handles fine and is decent to drive as a rental. The lack of headroom is deal breaker for me for next rental let alone a purchase.
Hey Jerry, I bought the Crystal Red 2017 Impala LT July 2017 and only have put 6000 miles on it. After Test Driving Midsize sedans (Camry, Sonata, Civic, and Malibu) I saw this red Impala and I said to myself it’s so much more car for the $$$. I knew because they aren’t selling like hot cakes the dealer would come down from sticker. The Sticker was just over $33K I told the salesman $25K or I walk. Lol. He came back and showed me what the general manager wrote down and it was $25.500. I thought oh hell, that’s cheaper then all the cars I test drove and as soon as I test drove this Generation Impala I was SOLD. I recently traveled out of state 100 miles round trip and averaged 38.5 MPG. I was in disbelief myself. 68 mph the most of the way. Last Winter was the worst here in the NE I can ever remember in my 56 years of snow and not once was I even close to trouble with this car. And she gets looks. :))
Gene, As you know, you got the great mileage because you allowed the transmission to gear up to the super over-drive, allowing the engine to operate at very low rpm at 68 mph. And, you were not hot-dogging it; just on cruise control. Result: super mpg!
bboucharde also if it comes to a hill and the CC is on. The engine will punch itself to get back to speed. I know this because my 2011 impala does this. Once it gets less than 5mph on CC it will not hesitate to ram those rpms up to get back to its set post.
As I've gotten older, I do prefer comfort over cross-over. I've test drove the Buick Lacrosse Avenir , the Impala, the Subaru Outback, the Ford Fusion and last the Toyota Camry. I think you see a pattern here. Like I stated, I'm not a big supporter of the Cross-over cars. I prefer the sedan look and feel.
I've got a 2015 Burgundy LTZ with Black Leather, & the optional (only available on LTZ's/Premiers) 20" rims. His tested car here doesn't have: * The 20" Wheels, * The big sunroof, * The power tilt-telescoping steering-wheel, * Heated steering wheel, * Auto-dimming Rear-view & driver-side mirror, * 2-Driver Memory-pkg. This pkg is SO cool! Position the driver's-seat, steering-wheel in/out/up/down, & side-mirrors where you want. Then press Set for a second, then a beep. Now press 1 (or 2) & hold briefly. It'll double-beep. Repeat this positioning for the 2nd driver. Each driver can also program their preferred "Exit" position for seat & wheel. When u shut car off & open door, seat & wheel move to your set "Exit" points!! I absolutely LOVE this thing!!! Big interior & trunk, I've got headroom....even in BACK!! That never happens!! I'm 6'2" with a longer torso. This is the ONLY car I've been in where I can sit upright in the back!!
I had a 2014 impala 1LT and I regret trading it in. I paid $27,000 for it brand new with only 64 miles on it, which for me, was worth it. I got 27 MPG, handled great, even in Wisconsin winters, looked great inside and out, had so many storage spaces that I had to find items to fill the spaces, the door cup holders were big enough to fit my nalgene bottle in, was comfortable to drive 6 hours to college in without my butt and/or back hurting, cargo space was big enough to hunker down in for a nap (lol I'm only 5'3" though), and even with a 4-cyl engine, it had a lot of pick up without sacrificing fuel economy. I can't say enough awesome things about it. I would recommend an Impala to anyone.
That's crazy I live in Wisconsin and I have aa 15 Impala. Yes it's winter now too and I love this car. This year I did put some snow tires on the front. Tired of sliding around all the time. Very cool.
@@djkenny1202 At the time, it was an average price for that vehicle and others vehicles in its class in Wisconsin. I did a VIN search on it last year and found it was currently listed in Arizona for $8995 with 145k miles lol
I have 2017 Black Edition Impala Premier fully loaded. Still looks new. Sucks that GM is discontinuing Impala 2019. Yet you don’t see Mercedes, Audi, BMW, Volvo, Lexus discontinuing their sedans. If GM Really wanted the impala to be successful they would add more power, sports package, lunch control, body kits and so on. 2017 GM stated consumers pick Impala and CRUZ as the best vehicle out of all chevrolet vehicles. Doesn’t make since. Why get rid of a car that’s been leading the car industry for decades??? That’s like getting rid of the S Class Mercedes. SUV are not the trend “THEY” make the trend and force people to by SUVs. When gas prices go up people will be buying sedans and smaller vehicles like 2008 when the economy collapsed. I don’t follow trends. Impala are good cars and better then the Malibu which they promote a lot more. How consumers buy Impala if you don’t promote it, don’t push it or make great commercials like Mercedes and Audi does??
I absolutely love Impala. Mine got wrecked, lady blew past a red light. Unfortunately, its how i found out just how safe the full size sedan really is. 😞😫 But now im shopping around for another one. Bittersweet.
The impala use to be my favorite car. I had the 02 and 06. Wanted the new gen, but they couldn’t compete with the charger r/t. If they would. OMG!!! They would kill the game. Make it happen Chevrolet!!
I want one of these so bad... I have the previous gen, a 2013. I love the 306hp lfx engine, but the rest of the car is... meh... This one in the other hand, what a gorgeous car all around!
8:00 ...On the back the center arm rest for the front seat passengers .... you'll notice there's 2 dedicated vents...you also have a 3 prong power port...which means you can pretty much plug anything you want into this car charge it up...
I just purchased my 2018 Impala Premier and I’m really enjoying it! Went to the dealership and thought I would get a 2019 Chevy Camaro but I’m so glad I changed my mind. I don’t know a lot about cars but It felt great when my boyfriend told me that I did a great job. Traded in my 2015 Malibu LT so I’m looking forward to see what this Lady(car) can do.#chevygirl4life
I didn’t know that the lmpala was an SUV lol. Nice review. A buddy of mine in Detroit bought one and he works for Ford (he said Ford had gotten too expensive).
I learned to drive in a four door 67 pillared sedan. I’ve been lucky through the years. Had that car, 283 and power glide transmission. Then I lucked into a 67 SS327 fastback. After that I drove the 67 impala convertible for a decade and a half. Don’t currently own a 67. Will have one more one day I hope. Haven’t yet owned either the wagon or four door hardtop models.
I own the 2015 Impala LT-2. It's pretty much the same car except the lack of the newer media icons (there is a Pandora and apple link built in along with the navigation and phone controls but in 2015 that's it...in 2016 Chevy added the extra icons that are in the 2016 and up models). Aside from that there are same available options on the 2015's of you so equipped it that way. Overall I love my Impala. I've owned her since the winter of 2015 when it had 22k miles on it. I'm almost at 50k now and aside from the usual maintenance that's required I've not had ANY issues! That's saying something for a car these days! As far as I'm concerned Chevy KNOCKED THIS ONE OUT OF THE PARK!!! Well done GM! (oh, and the guy reviewing the car really didn't expound on JUST HOW DAMN BIG THIS TRUNK IS!!! And with the back seats folded down I've really loaded the back up with so much stuff from Home Depot you would have to see it ti believe it! I put, in load, 35- 2x4's, 6- 4x4's, 4- 2x6's and 5- 4'x8' sheets of 3/4" plywood (but they were cut in half long-ways as that was the size I had needed at the time) and BUNCH of bolts, washers and nuts... ALL IN THE BACK OF THIS CAR!!! I really never felt I have been missing out not buying a SUV instead... NEVER! The ride is so nice and quiet yet when needed it gives a firm and somewhat sporty ride if the need arises. You really can't go wrong with this car. And the look outside is so elegant (I'm complimented at least one or twice a month ever since I bought the car 3 years ago). It's so nice that chevy went back to a FULL-SIZED sedan again... If it's true that this is the last year of this model line then that's a shame... so often a car company gives in to outside pressure (bean-counters that have NO FRIGGIN CLUE that there is STILL a market for FULL-SIZED sedans!). If you're thinking even a little bit about the Impala, just go rent one for a weekend and take it on a nice little road trip for the weekend... You'll see after you've brought it back to the rental agency just what we that already own one already know... THIS CAR ROCKS!!!
Right on, Tim. I was looking for something a little larger a with a great ride to replace my Acura TL. I’d see the new Impala design on the road and out of curiosity checked Consumer Reports review. I was SHOCKED that it was the #1 rated full-size sedan and got such high marks in nearly every category, especially the ride and quietness. In the Fall of ‘17 I found a Crystal Red LTZ with every option but adaptive cruise control, 23k miles. The original sticker in the glovebox... $39k. Got it for $21k and have never regretted it. I’m seriously considering grabbing a newer one if it’s being discontinued,. A friend is a Chevy salesperson. He says those in the market for a sedan are opting for the considerably lower sticker-priced Malibu, otherwise they’re spending bigger bucks on the Traverse SUV. A shame if you want a larger sedan because a fully equipped Impala is a huge bargain compared to similarly equipped Euro-rides with much lower costs to maintain. Cheers.
Impalas are great cars... I've only ever driven the Impala Limited (the previous generation that was sold from 2014-2016 and was sold alongside the current Impala to rental fleets) and maybe you've driven one before, but I was quite impressed going into driving it not expecting to be impressed. I hope Chevy decides to redesign the Impala, especially with their commitment to cars since Ford is dropping out of the car game (except for the Mustang of course). I work for a Chevy dealer, and my boss (the owner of the dealership) and I both enjoy the Impala. :)
They sell pretty well, especially the pre-owned ones, which tend to sell just as quickly as they hit our lot. My boss goes to auction each week and will typically come back with a few ex-rental cars to add to our inventory, and he usually gets an Impala or two. :)
It would definitely be nice if you could just go to watch, because it's hard to get the hang of the pace of the auction the first couple times you go. But unfortunately unless you know a dealer you can go with, it's difficult to do that, because even if you go to a public auction, you still have to pay a registration fee, as well as register as a bidder.
My favorite is the Impala from 2000-? I first drove one for a week as a rental car and it was big and roomy and at the time still had the front split bench seat. Great car.
Chevy impala has always been a very nice car, they must continue the production this car is awesome , I hope ChEvrolet continues producing this amazing car into the future 👍👍👍👍👍
Well I rented one in 2019 and I loved it so much that I bought one! I even named her Jazmean! This is an absolutely wonderful vehicle! And yes, it hauls asssssssssss! This is not the same V6 of old that I remember.
Love the Impala . I pray they will not discontinue it and even give it some refinements. Not sure why they put the ugly orange piping with their black seats though.??
JPBAMA Not sure why they haven’t came up with a newer design. Looks like the 2014 still. There’s slight changes, but sheesh. Was hoping they would come out with an impala ss model offering awd, but apparently they won’t do that due to some Cadillac s being awd. Would take sales away from there.
I have a 2010 Malibu with a 3.6L V-6. It is a terrific engine. Excellent acceleration with a nice growl while doing a hard acceleration. I hope that Chevy keeps the Impala for the 2020 model year. The timing works better for me.
This suck so much that they stopped making those. Killer looks, roomy, maximum comfort including automatic transmission, even a damn ceiling window. I can only hope that i'll be able to get something similar to this in the future.
I love the Chevy Impala have had three so far. I now have a 2004 impala have had no problems with it, drives like a dream .would love a new one but don't know if I can afford one. Maybe a gently used one, but most people don't want to get ride of them !!! Chevy is crazy to stop making them.
It's a pity this type of car is not selling, Talking to a friend who was in Florida while I was in New England. We both commented on how many Korean and German cars were on the road and lack of new American cars (but not trucks). I am glad I drove a U.S V6 saloon in October, because it strikes me at this rate by 2020 there won't be any.
@@100RentalCars I asked your advice back in the summer and you suggest impala/Maxima, I got upgraded to a Cadillac xts , superb car, my wife did say why such a big car. But when she drove it and put her foot down and heard the noise she smiled. I did not fly 5000 miles to drive a Hyundai.
"I did not fly 5000 miles to drive a Hyundai." Hahaha, awesome. And I totally agree. Hyundais are decent cars, but I don't look forward to driving them. The XTS however, now thats fun. Too bad it's probably not going to be made after 2020.
They are expensive and have horrible resale value. GM cars haven't been seen as cool for decades. They successfully sabotaged their reputation in the 1980's/90's and with the EV1 debacle
@@blogshagify l cannot argue with you as l was tourist in rental car. But as this or similar cars market is limited to Nth America or the gulf states, with out the quality issues you raise, now globally niche car. A dinosaur, but a nice dinosaur.
The Impala was a great car. Its a shame that GM took it away. We looked at an impala premier, and the Chevy dealer decided to do a bait and switch and have us look at a used fleet rental instead of a brand new one, so we didnt go for it. But it was a great looking car.
Bummer, I'm sorry the dealer treated you that way. I've had similar experiences. The inventories dealer's list on their websites are just one big lie on my opinion. Sad. Anyway, I hope you find one. They are great cars.
Beautiful sedan! Impala or Taurus? I'm torn between the 2. Amazing vehicles both. These are still pretty popular. I'm grabbing a '19 before they are gone! Cant go wrong.
I really like the Impala, but I'm sorry, I haven't driven the Taurus, so I'm not going to be much help. I would be careful though, I think this is the last year for both cars. Personally, that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable.
I have a 2017 Premier and absolutely love it. I'm 49 and I just wanted a big comfortable sedan with the latest tech. I don't need to plug in my phone, it sits in the wireless charger and connects with BT. I'm not sure what I'll get next, maybe the Avalon or Maxima if they're still available...
I love this car, but...I gotta be honest, I'm not sure I'll be buying a sedan anytime soon. Maybe after my kids are grown and I can go back to being a "real" adult.
100 Rental Cars i have rented this vehicle a lot of times i had one while my bimmer was being shipped to me.

Chevy should never kill off the impala. Good solid sedan
Go watch my newest video for the truth
No one is buying it. They can't continue to offer cars no one is buying
Blog Shag Really?! I see alot of them in the street
paul nadratowski yah it’s in the top 10 best selling cars.
The could possibly bring the cavalier into the U.S. market because they are taking the Cruze. So. Who knows.
@@keysto123
I have the 06 imp SS and the transmission is trash
Hope ur luck is better than mine.
Agreed 👍🏾
For the first time perhaps ever, GM produced a car that Consumer Reports was gushing over..........quiet, attractive, fast, fuel efficient, spacious.......so naturally they discontinue it. Morons.
Just like the Solstice, SS, & GTO......
It wasn't selling
Is the Premier the top of the line version?
What year 6?
Great vehicle!
Currently sat in a 2019 impala premier rental, fallen in love with it that extended the rental period
Nice!
No other car in this segment rides like the Impala ! It's a surreal experience tbh
Thanks for the kinds words and for the great comment. And congratulations on your new car!
I'm 65 too and I also drive an Impala. It just happens to be a 96 Impala SS.
I went from a 2001 Grand Marquis to a 2017 impala premier and love the size
I am half your senior and I purchased a Chevrolet Impala Premier. I was slightly skeptical about purchasing the vehicle based on a certain surmise about the Impala looks older than my age, and I didn't want the Base or LT, I wanted the Premier.
Curious to know. When it rains or snows when the truck is opened does rain or snow fall into the truck?
I'm 6'6" and this was the only car on the lot that I could comfortably fit in.
This thing is a couch, I love it.
125! Wow.
@@100RentalCars 🤣
Don’t sleep on this car
I think Chevy would be foolish to drop the Impala from their lineup, it's a very nice sedan!
Agreed! Hopefully they'll bring it back soon.
@@100RentalCars Maybe it will get another stay of execution past Jan 2020, sadly tho V6 is doomed if prodtion continues.
🤞
I rented this vehicle for ten days in Florida and I loved it. I really loved it.
I still can’t believe they discontinued this but kept the Malibu. IMO this was the best full sized sedan around. Granted it wasn’t as “stylish” as the Camry but I’d definitely pick it over any of the other stuff.
Just bought the 2019 Impala Premiere. Awesome vehicle!
Congratulations!
I'm liking that chevy interior. The exterior looks great too. Nice car.
Keep it up 💪🏾
I get tons of compliments on mine, but I have done some simple mods to it. People love the car and can't believe it's an Impala
The Chevy Impala is one bad ass car. I have a 1996 and 2019 impala.
@@Cj17Official how do you have a car but your mom doesn't?
Ajuong Ruai lol she does the one she is just looking into getting another car.
1974 DODGE MONACO 440 ifs true ask your google thing for the answer.
I have the 2018 Malibu. My co-worker has the 2018 Impala. Chevy is Fabulous and the luxury of the Impala is outstandingly awesome.
I really hope they don’t stop making these cars!
1974 DODGE MONACO 440 I hope your right, I’m 6’3 and these fit me so great! It’s hard for me to be comfortable even in a lot of larger sedans and these are a dream for me.. my 2018 is the third I’ve own and I’d like to trade in for 2020!
Go watch my newest video for the truth
The impala not going any where if they got rid of it it would be a disaster
I agree this car has positive reviews
I worked at enterprise a couple months ago and that was easily the best car on the lot. Comfort, tech, and performance, and most importantly AUDIO!!!!! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 my dad has a 66 impala and it’s mean
Its done after 2020...trust me...and I'm pissed but sales have dropped dramatically since it came out in 2014....i love my v6 LT
Yup the Impala is done right after the Ford Taurus. GM hasn't officially announced it yet but the writing is on the wall. The Buick Lacrosse will probably follow, which wont leave much in the mainstream full-size front-wheel-drive segment besides the Nissan Maxima, Toyota Avalon, and Kia Cadenza, all of which sell in low volume these days too.
any + where = anywhere. I learned that before I entered grade school.
Your voice reminds me of Steve Carrel.
Jajajjajajaja it's true
Omg now I can’t hear anything else. 😅🤣💙
LMFAOOOOOOO
Like the impala & when I retire the 2019 will be the upgrade. My 2006 has been great for 11 years with 140k miles so the new one will last me till I croak.
Congratulations on your new Impala! I hope it lasts 12+ years AND that you're still around to buy another in 2031!
(Edit: 3 typos)
Just bought a 2019 impala and I love it!
Nice! Congratulations!
This is my dream car .
I hope to have one soon
RIP Chevy Impala. This car will be discontinued around June 2019 or so. I own a 2012 Impala LTZ and LOVE it. I've owned it for 5 years and just does what it's suppose to do and that is WORK. I've driven these newer models and enjoyed it. I planned on getting one in about 2 years. My current Impala has 75k miles. If I have the opportunity to get one before they discontinue it I will.
Well said.
Long live the Impalas
Add AWD , a V8, GM's Magnetic Ride, a fee loaner and you have a perfect car.
I own a 2019 Impala, great car.
Now that I’ve seen this, it would be at top of list.....please consider keeping the IMPALA around
I have the 14 impala Ltz and have picture proof govenor kicks in at 148
This is last great Chevy car
Just rented one for a 1,000 mile road trip. I was surprised how nice it performed. Plenty of power, comfortable, roomy, quick enough and surprisingly good gas mileage. G.M. is making a mistake by discontinuing this model.
I drove the car when I was in Hawaii. I LOVED IT! It was just a great feeling I don’t wanna miss ever again.
Sounds like you had a great trip!
I felt your excitement when you found those sunglasses😄
Didn't know true heart break til I heard they discontinuing the Impala.
I bought my 2017 Impala LS brand new and I love it, bought it at the end of the year ,, Dec 2017 and got a great deal,,, I love the V-6 engine,, and as far as a SUV I have a 02 Dodge Ram truck also that still runs great,,
Nice! Congratulations!
Really like your review! Great car , I have a 2014 and just love it. Your review wants me to go buy the 2019. I’ll miss the impala once it gone! Thanks so much!
Thanks for the kind words Steven!
Great review! Excited to get the exact 2018 Premier on Saturday!
Thanks! And congratulations!
I rented out a Chevy impala 2018 while my car was in the shop I had to buy the 2019 model
I have a Malibu 2013, planning to get a new car
I was thinking i might settle for the Malibu 2019, but then i learned it wasnt the biggest sedan out there from Chevvy so i found the impala.
One thing that disturbed me was that this was the last of the series which worries me wither i should buy it or not(repair parts stopping production or whats not)
This is a great car! Always ask for one when traveling for work.
I have the 2014 one when it was restyled it’s a great car I have the 4cyl and it does a fine job decent acceleration
I have a 2011 impala. Smooth ride 124,000 miles no major problems I like it
Same here but they don't sound like the v6
Dirk Diggler I put a mild sounding muffler on mine doesn’t sound bad
We have this as a rental. I do not like the lack of head room space and the wheel only raises enough for me to squeeze me knees through. I've hit my head getting in and out and I'm 6ft. Nice and comfortable once in it and the large trunk handled ALL our luggage -no problem. It handles fine and is decent to drive as a rental. The lack of headroom is deal breaker for me for next rental let alone a purchase.
Nice video, best sedan on the market "for the money" you can't beat it.
I love this car. Your video confirmed it for me
Its so sad chevys getting rid of the Impala its a great car.
I agree with you. They should make it AWD and I bet the would sell a TON
R.I.P impala 60 years of age
Lego Damen they’ll bring it back again. Just like from 60s to 90s to early and late 2k
FazeTug I doubt it. Unlike the 90s, Electric cars and SUV will take over this time.
I bought a 2018 premier black on black I love it very sleek and elegant
Very nice. I think I'd prefer that. The silver accents on this one felt a bit cheap to me.
@@100RentalCars I have the chrome package it looks good on the black and the red color to me
Hey Jerry, I bought the Crystal Red 2017 Impala LT July 2017 and only have put 6000 miles on it. :))
I would have BYE with the quickness. $31,500.
I love my 17 Impala. Much roomier and more comfortable than my 08 Malibu was. Gets better mileage and has better power too.
I have fallen in love with the new Impala models.
A really great review of the car I appreciate that because now I want one thank you very much
I've got a 2015 Burgundy LTZ with Black Leather, & the optional (only available on LTZ's/Premiers) 20" rims. His tested car here doesn't have:
* The 20" Wheels,
* The big sunroof,
* The power tilt-telescoping steering-wheel,
* Heated steering wheel,
* Auto-dimming Rear-view & driver-side mirror,
* 2-Driver Memory-pkg.
One of the most underrated cars. RIP.
Amen.
Well said. And I agree, it's a great vehicle. Too bad Chevy has decided to discontinue it. Hopefully, we'll see it again someday.
I bought a 2018 with 40 and I only paid $22,000
That's crazy I live in Wisconsin and I have aa 15 Impala. Yes it's winter now too and I love this car. This year I did put some snow tires on the front. Tired of sliding around all the time. Very cool.
What happened to it? Seems a little expensive for LT1. But yes, nice cars.
Well said. I couldn't agree more.
ULOOKN
Damn right

I absolutely love Impala.
Mine got wrecked, lady blew past a red light. Unfortunately, its how i found out just how safe the full size sedan really is. 😞😫
But now im shopping around for another one.
I bought 2017 impala premier, CPO. Runs great and is very comfortable.
Traded in my 2015 Malibu LT so I’m looking forward to see what this Lady(car) can do.#chevygirl4life
Did you just call that sedan a fairly large SUV? 😂😂😂
Yes he did!!
Ha! I'm such an idiot sometimes. Sorry about that.
looking at how much space the car has, he's not wrong lmao.
I didn’t know that the lmpala was an SUV lol. Nice review. A buddy of mine in Detroit bought one and he works for Ford (he said Ford had gotten too expensive).
Doug is the type of guy to watch this video.
67 impala still the best in history
I totally agree with you!
Nope the 58 impala was the greatest and best looking impala ever
Yes. A 67, 4 door hardtop is my dream car
Are you a hunter?
How the Impala selling at your dealership?
They sell pretty well, especially the pre-owned ones, which tend to sell just as quickly as they hit our lot. My boss goes to auction each week and will typically come back with a few ex-rental cars to add to our inventory, and he usually gets an Impala or two. :)
Wow, good to know. And I sooooo want to go to one of those auctions. I bet it's pretty fun to watch.
Still have my 2019. Beautiful car.
Well I rented one in 2019 and I loved it so much that I bought one! I even named her Jazmean! This is an absolutely wonderful vehicle! And yes, it hauls asssssssssss! This is not the same V6 of old that I remember.
Love the name!
I currently have that as my rental vehicle right now. It’s very comfortable.
Everyone wants a RWD Impala. Even with this V6 it would a great seller.
Go watch my newest video for the truth
They dont go away forever, they always come back, how many times did they bring back the Monte carlo, it will be back in a few years...I hope
I have a 2010 Malibu with a 3.6L V-6. It is a terrific engine. Excellent acceleration with a nice growl while doing a hard acceleration. I hope that Chevy keeps the Impala for the 2020 model year. The timing works better for me.
French guy watching your video. I have Aveo 2013. Called Sonic in your country. I hope Chevy come back in Europe. I love too much this brand
Nice! I like the Sonic, I'm hoping to be able to post a review of it soon.
This suck so much that they stopped making those. Killer looks, roomy, maximum comfort including automatic transmission, even a damn ceiling window. I can only hope that i'll be able to get something similar to this in the future.
I have a 2014 Impala LTZ fully loaded, immaculate with 20 inch wheels, everyone thinks it's a 2019 and some people thought it was a Jaguar
Really thinking about getting this car....thanks for the video
I love the Chevy Impala have had three so far. I now have a 2004 impala have had no problems with it, drives like a dream .would love a new one but don't know if I can afford one. Maybe a gently used one, but most people don't want to get ride of them !!! Chevy is crazy to stop making them.
i sold my 2016 malibu and i wanna buy a 2017 impala it looks amazing !
Go for it! I think you'll be very happy with it.
"Fairly large SUV with a pretty big engine"
Are we still referring to a v6 sedan?
It's a pity this type of car is not selling, Talking to a friend who was in Florida while I was in New England. We both commented on how many Korean and German cars were on the road and lack of new American cars (but not trucks). I am glad I drove a U.S V6 saloon in October, because it strikes me at this rate by 2020 there won't be any.
Very true. There are almost no american made sedans left.
I made sure I didnt get a FLeet when looking. I saw them cheaper but I wanted a used reg model. Still nice cars.
I have a 2010 impala and ya know she has some issues but I love that car so much. I still accelerate quickly to hear the engine. I love it
Beautiful car!!! Would love to park that black one next to my black 68. Would make great garage mates....
Damn i love impala
I’m currently in LA for work and wondering which car to rent, your video just sold me !
Thanks Cheedee. Drive safe my friend!
Does this car have auto stop / start? I did not see a disable button. If it has this annoying feature without a disable switch that is a deal killer.
