I absolutely adored the e-Tron 55 I had for a couple of months. “It’s a luxury Audi SUV that happens to be electric” is the way I continue to describe it. It’s fuel type doesn’t define it - and that’s okay.
Yep! It’s a lovely thing. I’ve been a fan of Audi for a long time (always wanted an Audi Quattro) so to drive and enjoy something like this was a treat. I think it’ll appeal to a lot of Audi fans who are slightly more skeptical of electric powertrains.
The production quality is absolutely insane! Really informative video and I love that it's an honest review, not just all positive stuff for the sake of it. You're so well-spoken and professional. Love everything about this.

For me, it’s definitely about cornering ability. I’m not too fussed about sound, I just want a car that performs. Great video!

having owned around 13 EV's over the past 15 years including three teslas the audi is the best and t grows on you. The comfort, the quietness and refinement. although efficiency and range is less than competitors it will outcharge most vehicles even the 800v 250kw charging cars- look at the charge curve- it is almost flat and charges at 155kw nearly all the way, still at 99% it will charge at over 50kw, s once the charging infra structure improves the vehcle will be perfect and if tesla open up the superchargers then it will be amazing

We’ve ordered the E tron 45 which has a greater ranger for slightly less power but doesn’t have four wheel drive. I reckon it’s the better car.

@@JessShanahan It’s not been built yet LOL! My wife has ordered it through mobility as it has the space for her electric wheelchair. And the mileage we do means an electric car is perfect. Anticipating £20 per month to charge it. Today I filled my PHEV with petrol at a cost of £40. We are both eagerly awaiting it.

Sound is a dead end anyway. Unless you can afford to run a 6/8/12 cylinder engine most new cars are 3-4 cylinder low displacement turbos with noise deadening due to regulations. A lot of ICE cars seem as quiet as EVs in car parks sometimes
Physical buttons! One of my pet peeves too. Also a huge accessibility problem for a lot of people.
Absolutely! The saving grace is that haptic feedback but it feels dangerous to always have to blindly feel around a screen for things as simple as AC. This Audi actually has voice control for stuff like that but I don’t automatically think to say ‘hey Audi, it’s cold’.
@@JessShanahan Wow, even AC is digital? That's the type of thing that would totally turn me off. What if it's raining buckets outside and my hands are wet? What if I actually have to focus on the road? What if it's dark and the screen glare distracts me from the road? As much as can "blindly" reckon which button you're searching for, you can't do that on a screen. Geeweez, fingers haven't magically disappeared with EVs. Poor design.
@@LaureLatham Exactly. One of the reasons I went for the Renault Zoe is because it has buttons as well as a touch screen. I just need AC, drive mode, and music controls as buttons. I’m fine for deeper features to be buried in a touchscreen.
with the flat 150kw charging curve means you can plug in at any state of charge and not run down to 5% like all the other EVs and then leave charger at 60% or so
Fun is always being in the right gear 😉
An EV is always in the right gear! Although, I’d argue there’s pleasure in finding the right gear. As much as I love EVs, there’s something satisfying about getting a gear change perfect.
