    The most impressive thing about Gorilla Glass Armor glass is reflections and how it compares to other phones, especially side by side, the colors are so much brighter and not lost due to reflections, it stays clear even in bright light, with way less reflections and mirrors effect, the difference is massive comparing S24 Ultra vs S23 Ultra, or vs iPhone 15 Pro Max. This probably will be new trend. It is interesting that Samsung did not showcase it on launch.

    • @BoomSlang001
      @BoomSlang001 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      A case is a must, but the screen protector is up for debate. Adding glass ruins the effect of the anti-reflective coating on the screen. Samsung has an anti-reflective screen protector, but it's FILM. That means no protection against falls only scratches and scrapes, and this is what the new glass does very well with. I tried Spigen's glass for only a few hours before returning it due to bad fitment, fingerprint reader issues, and dust collecting and being trapped on the sides.

    Learn your material characteristics as they make the glass harder to resist key scratches. Something harder will crack easier from a drop.
    Think about a ceramic cup that has no give in it whatsoever. If you wanted to survive a drop test, then you would want the glass to have a lot of movement, but it would scratch up real easy. You cannot have one Characteristic without making the other characteristic worse. If they're going for scratches, then the screen will crack easier.

      @@PBKreviews, Thank for your answer. I am looking for a TH-cam channel that reviews cell phones from the perspective of oxidation resistance. I have had many problems with oxidation, such as the phone turning off and not turning on, green screen, white screen, and others. Since cell phones are getting more expensive and the manufacturers are promising up to 7 years of system updates, it makes sense that the components are more noble, with gold coatings that resist oxidation more than copper, and thus have a longer lifespan. Another factor that matters to avoid exposure to reducing agents is the ip68 protection against water. So far I have not found any TH-cam channel that takes this into account, which makes all the difference for those who buy a used phone or want to keep the same phone for as long as possible.

    With glass - it is always a compromise.
    a softer glass is more drop and shatter resistant ... but much easier to scratch (especially microscratches). A hard screen (lets say - the hardest used on any smartphone yet .. HTC U Ultra 128gb version with a sapphire screen) ... nearly impossible to scrach (lvl9) .. but very easy to shatter on drop.
    Similar with the frame - a soft frame can take some impact force from a drop by denting. Some more force is taken from the thin plastic frame the glass sits in - and it all adds up. A very hard frame offers less impact deformity, transferring more force to the plastic rim and thus to the glass itself.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      all depends on what type of glass and tech is used. look at kunlun glass on the mate 60 pro. it's both really strong which doesn't break and very scratch resistant at the same time

    • @Alfadrottning86
      @Alfadrottning86 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@PBKreviews i do not know Kunlun glass. Is it more like Apples ceramic shielding? slightly less scratches at lvl6 .. but still lvl6? or is it like this Samsung glass that seems to endure lvl6.
      I still cannot quite believe it - because if it was an actual lvl higher than tempered glass ... it should completely shrug off micro abresions in daily usage (judging from an HTC U Ultra with sapphire screen, that my father has, that still has a pristine screen). I mean, Samsung wont bless us with transparent aluminium, because that is way too expensive and also even more resistant than sapphire.

      There are phones like the mate 60 pro which survive drops of all kinds plus more. But the reason I wasn't completely happy was the fact that it's a flat design vs last year's curved which on its own should be a big improvement for drops since curved is weaker. But on top of the more flat design, it has a newer gen glass on top so I was expecting it to survive a drop from waist height with no cracks. But the glass is still rounded at the edges causing it to be weaker there. on the S24 drop test video you will see it's completely flat and survived drops from higher.
