I was skeptical of the small bezels. But seeing how easy it was to replace the screen without taking everything out from the back first, is truly marvelous. Great design by Samsung.
lol yeah. Thanks! The screen ran me $240 and the adhesives $50 since I had them shipped from overseas as they were not available here yet. But adhesives should run closer to $20-25 once they are more widely available.
I do put it with clamps after. Also the heat loosens the adhesive. From what I've been told from a Samsung Tech at the US repair team, they actually put the adhesives in a freezer to keep them more sticky. Then when installing the adhesives, they hold stronger.
Thanks. Yes, as long as you properly remove the old adhesive, and re apply the original pre cut adhesive/rework kit made for the phone properly, it will retain the water and dust resistance.
Brilliant work chief !!! Looking at everything in detail would i be righ if i said the when people drop they phones and break they screen, its actuality front glass borkem only or does the actual aluminium sheet underneath gets damaged as well ? Just out of pure curiously. Thanks again i value your professionalism the most !!!!🙌
@@PBKreviews It doesnt always, i was told they have a machine at samsung services to measure the water resistance. Technician told me youd surprised how many times they fail the test and they'd have to start over. It would be better for adhesion purposes if you had used some ISO at least on the frame prior to installing screen and back glass.. This is better done with gloves too, i always use gloves when working on phones. Once you get the hang of it you cant go back to pure fingers greasy assembly. No more smudgeish greaseish fingerprints anywhere, especially so for the glue's adhesion surface or the glue itself, where there shouldn't be. Just noted a few suggestions. Anyway as always, great video! Thumbs up!
I had my screen replaced under warranty and only now I discovered that the rear panel needs to be removed for this service. Then I checked my rear panel and one side is slightly outwards. I pressed a little bit with my fingers and it seems to be flush with the frame now. My main concerns are water resistance and also make sure the panel will stay flush with the frame as it should. Do you recommend I use a hair dryer to heat it and then use some clamps for a few minutes? Or should I ask the repair center to redo the fixing?
ask them to re apply the back cover. heat will only loosen it and not help. They probably didn't apply it properly or clean off the original adhesive residue before applying the new one.
@@PBKreviews Thanks, it seems exactly what you mentioned. When I press the back cover it becomes flush with the frame but after a short time it goes back outwards. It is very, very minimal but it bothers me.
i have an s24 plus does the screen have a color like the phone itself i sent mine in for a screen replacement but they say the only have violet and yellow?
When you have applied the new screen i sow a lego type connector on the bottom of the screen I didn’t hear a clicking sound when you applied the screen why
The coating on my screen looks to be peeling in one area after 3 months, I've contacted Samsung and booked a repair, I'm still covered by warranty, but worse case scenario can only the front glass be replaced?
Technically, you can remove just the screen without disassembling the rest, but applying a new screen is more difficult since once you apply new adhesive, you have on chance at applying the screen perfectly to the frame while aligning the screen connector to the cable so it snaps on when you apply the screen. If you don't get a good connection or the cable doesn't connect, you will have to pry the screen off again which poses a high chance of damaging the screen. So best way is to remove the back, and the bottom speaker assembly so you can disconnect the flex cable for the screen, then remove the screen, apply the new one and reconnect the flex cable from the back. Then re assemble the back cover etc. If you are referring to the process of removing the old adhesive, and applying the new ones, if you want to maintain the water resistance and dust resistance, then yeah you need to properly apply the adhesive made for the phone to be safe on that end.
It's not too difficult. If it's not prying off enough to put a pry tool in between the frame and back glass with the suction cup, you need to apply more heat. Once its hot enough should peel off easier.
Have you heard of the grainy/banding displays problems that are affecting some batches of s24 Ultra? Could replacing the screen as you did be a solution to that issue? I'm very worried since I have the issue, and read that people that requested a replacement got the whole phone replaced... with another faulty one.
@@PBKreviews I'm fairly convinced it's related to the display (to the individual pixels). Also, if it was a software problem I think it should affect all units, but as far as I've read around, many people claim theirs are perfectly fine.
I replaced my s24 ultra screen today, I told the technician to install the new screen. Thank God the screen worked well and without any defect, I only noticed one problem, the S pen stopped working, a message appears saying that the s pen is not compatible with the screen ... It does not let you write or do any air commands with the pen. The S pen is very important to me and I use it a lot, I do not know what to do now😢😢😢... my S24 Ultra is the Global black version and i replaced the screen with the one that comes with the frame..... do you know what should it be?

I got lost in link in descriptions to many items in that website, I don't know how to look for & don't want to order wrong thing. You can get it from www.mobilesentrix.com/replacement-parts/samsung/galaxy-s-series/galaxy-s24-ultra-5g or rounded.com/galaxy-s24-ultra-sm-s928b/ . It's easier if you get the screen with frame combo, since all you have to do is move over your motherboard and parts to the new screen with frame and not worry about attaching the screen to the frame. Rounded.com link has the combo in stock but a bit more pricey. If you are getting the screen without the frame, make sure to get the adhesive for the screen/lcd which is sold separately.
I really do prefer a suction-heating machine to remove a screen. It's easier and safer than heatpad or hairdryer. I've already removed a lot of screens without damaging it by doing like that.
Oh boy, I wish I could get my hands on some original spare parts and kits like you did right here. It’s so bad we have to put up with third party crap over here, they can’t even come close to the original quality!
There is, but its much more hard to find the complete screen with frame assembly even though it is available because samsung is now doing screen only replacements vs the frame combo (I assume because of the higher cost of the titanium frame). So more people will be doing a screen only replacement vs screen with frame combo on the S24 ultra.
Yup, there is still screen and frame combos, but its much harder to find since samsung is mainly doing screen only repairs now on the 24 ultra (I assume due to increased cost of the titanium frame).
Hi, there is, its just the first thin layer which is glued to the glass peels off easily when heated from the screen so stays attached to the glass. That's why the glass looks dark in color, or else the glass is clear. If you look at parts of the glass where that thin layer got peeled off you will see its clear. But yeah that's what I thought at first until I looked closer and saw there is a thin layer glued to the glass which just peels off from the screen when prying it off.
@@PBKreviews but after getting flat panel we are not able to replace only glass in case we broke it that's how they done intentionally. And ultimately display quality is just downgraded 😢
I have looked into it, but there are already a few teardowns of it on TH-cam and I usually don't get enough views on the sony phones to justify purchasing the device. So currently I don't have any plans to do that model but may look into doing the VI when it releases.
