I would argure that the way Samsung puts theese together is better because: the outer layer of the phone is titanium protecting the phone from scratches and dents, but in cae of an inpact, because titanium doesn't bend easily, the energy is transfered into the plastic witch absorbs the energy before it reatches the rest of the phone while with the iphone, all the energy goes straight trough the titanium into the glass behind it. Does this make any sence?
It makes sense in your head, but it's actually not how these things work, let's not be biased toward our preferred company, They are both solid phones, Samsung picked the grade 2 titanium to save cost on other things, and we all know that Samsung is offering way more than apple is doing when it comes to hardware, from the s pen to an extra camera, they are both great phones
@@2COLD118 "Samsung picked the grade 2 titanium to save cost" Or maybe they picked it because it makes more sense and using Grade 5 would have been absolutely useless besides bragging about it in ads. For me Samsung implementation with both plastic and aluminum seems better for overall durability.
@@nrcx9461 So what if it's cheaper? that doesn't mean its not a better implementation. It's not like the iphone has any practical advantage in durability.
over the years Samsung has truly embraced the repairability factor of there phones going to the extent of laying out instructions of which capble is which and using one set of screws happy to see
Agreed! Apple went overboard with the alloy thing, and the fact that they used a harder Grade 5 titanium it was more susceptible to crack. Samsung knew this is more cosmetic than functional so they did the cheaper way, another possible reason could be the weight. They couldn't make the phone any lighter and if they had used more titanium/alumium the phone would have become even more bulkier which would have made them look stupid. I wish they had bumped up the battery capacity though.
I’m sure they let you borrow the mars rover after watching your gentle handling of the phone. Upcoming video, how much titanium is in the mars rover! 😂
This simple battery replacement has convinced me to buy it. Recently replaced batteries in my WF1000XM4. Having succeeded this is so easy to replace the battery.
I guess the coil winding increases in size to maintain the same resistance of each turn, since the resistance is directly proportional to length and inversely proportional to the cross section area :)
@@JerryRigEverythingwithout the Plastics though, it would be a direct comparison of how much titanium each company used in their phones regardless of size. We shouldn't be critiquing and comparing anything besides performance, including decisions like overmolding because they're different sizes then.

the outer layer of the phone is titanium protecting the phone from scratches and dents, but in cae of an inpact, because titanium doesn't bend easily, the energy is transfered into the plastic witch absorbs the energy before it reatches the rest of the phone while with the iphone, all the energy goes straight trough the titanium into the glass behind it.
Does this make any sence?
Fr
It makes sense in your head, but it's actually not how these things work, let's not be biased toward our preferred company, They are both solid phones, Samsung picked the grade 2 titanium to save cost on other things, and we all know that Samsung is offering way more than apple is doing when it comes to hardware, from the s pen to an extra camera, they are both great phones
the coping... LMFAO.
Just because you would argue it doesn't t mean jack shit. It s not better, it s cheaper.
@@2COLD118 "Samsung picked the grade 2 titanium to save cost"
Or maybe they picked it because it makes more sense and using Grade 5 would have been absolutely useless besides bragging about it in ads.
For me Samsung implementation with both plastic and aluminum seems better for overall durability.
@@nrcx9461 So what if it's cheaper? that doesn't mean its not a better implementation. It's not like the iphone has any practical advantage in durability.
4:00 what if we use lubrication?🙂
Ayo.
Fantastic, informative, and fun video. Thank you!
Wow, that haptic feedback solenoid in speaker is actually genius
Just got my own s24 ultra, enjoying it so far. I noticed at around 3:18 you accidentally called it the s23 ultra just fyi
Keen observation 😂
I think he was just throwing shade since it's the same exact battery & pull tab from last year Zach is usually pretty deliberate with things like that
can't wait for the apple vision pro teardown!
The best, most enjoyable teardown yet, Jerry! Kudos :)
Here we go S24 ultra ready for operation
I came here from scanning the QR code on the teardown skin just applied to my S24 Ultra 😁 Love the easter eggs, and the phone..!
Watching 24 Ultra teardown on 23 Ultra....man these phones are build different!
You have such a cool and calming voice, i listen to your videos every night to help me fall asleep. Thank you!
over the years Samsung has truly embraced the repairability factor of there phones going to the extent of laying out instructions of which capble is which and using one set of screws happy to see
3:45 Definitely They known that 🤣
This is the best video! You are the best, I never thought I could have so much fun watching a teardown video 😅❤
Nate from the Internet is a pretty awesome fellow, glad you were there.
In your honest opinion, does Apple or Samsung have the better build quality?
Apple definitely put more work into their titanium experience. But I do love android.
@@JerryRigEverything I also like Android & Windows
i’m
The back glass of Samsung is more durable though
The iphone did break during the bend test. The Samsung didn't
9:05 did you try to rebuild it after this ? xD
Watching this on my 23 Ultra. Had it for a year and a half. Mine still looks new. And it's paid off.
The plastic is probably smarter than solid state difusion since plastic makes a great shock absorber.
Not to the screen though as they are touching
Grade 2 is all titanium. Grade 5 is an alloy that also includes 6% aluminum and 4% vanadium. Grade 5 is harder, Grade 2 is a bit less expensive.
good to know
I’m sure they let you borrow the mars rover after watching your gentle handling of the phone. Upcoming video, how much titanium is in the mars rover! 😂
1:14 Dude just breaked the speaker like it was cheap device😅
This simple battery replacement has convinced me to buy it. Recently replaced batteries in my WF1000XM4. Having succeeded this is so easy to replace the battery.
As a proud owner of an S24ultra this video is an absolute nightmare 😂, just witnessed my baby being ripped apart and burnt to the core 😢
A nightmare turns into a dream if something does go wrong😊
3:41 ouch😂
Roasted
This is the BEST video from Jerry that I watched in 2 years from him.
nothing makes me happier today than jerry talking about blueballs and wrong holes
9:20.....RIP😂😂
Nate from the internet. Giving me king of randomn memories❤❤
4:32 💀💀
1:19 that's what she said
I guess the coil winding increases in size to maintain the same resistance of each turn, since the resistance is directly proportional to length and inversely proportional to the cross section area :)
Damm i was waiting for you to weight titanium extracts from both the phones
There was still plastic residue on the Samsung frame, and the phones are different sizes to begin with.
But science danmit!@@JerryRigEverything
@@JerryRigEverything If you can get rid of the plastic you can weigh the titanium and calculate how big % of the total weight is titanium
@@JerryRigEverythingwithout the Plastics though, it would be a direct comparison of how much titanium each company used in their phones regardless of size. We shouldn't be critiquing and comparing anything besides performance, including decisions like overmolding because they're different sizes then.
@@Stifo All I can see is that apple uses far better grade 5 titanium, and also more of it.. Jerry skipped the weight in, he didnt want samsung to lose on the weight also.. Only he can disprove it by molting away residue and put the both on the scale.. After all that work , that should be simple for him... Grear video btw
Grade 2 titanium is pure titanium, while Grade 5 is an alloy of titanium, aluminum, and vanadium.
Unobtainium
@@Engkushaini TRUE 😂
grade 5 is a better version of titanium
Are you smoking?!😂 grade 5 is purer that’s why it’s more expensive
Vibranium
Genuinely surprised how repairable this one looked, although maybe I'm just too accustomed to the iphone teardowns
3:15 ''The S23 Ultra'' 🤣
Seems a lot like they rushed to put out a similar titanium frame, but with a cheaper construction with the plastic between the titanium and aluminum, and grade 2 which is cheaper and less durable than grade 5
cheaper wow
.
1 full dollarrrrrrr maybe of that😂 poor customer brainwashed by the queen of brainwashing company who sell trash
Thank you for putting Fahrenheit AND Celsius. Always appreciate it
4:39 no balls and vibrater 😭😭😭
8:17
The charging port explodes and flies off, a true samsung classic.
Explodes? Really had to reach for that joke lmao
iPhone fans😂
If there is a Smart phone heaven, your channel sent a lot
1:25 😂 😂 😂
Bruhhh

3:07 “S23 Ultra”? He forgot the phones name 😅😅
