For anyone who is worried about the S24 Ultra speaker mesh filter, you can check my X/Twitter post with pictures of the mesh filter. Some people were worried about the mesh filter looking damaged when holding a flash light into the opening of the bottom speaker in the frame. It's not damaged and its just "domed" or in a dome shape fitted into the speaker opening in the frame of the phone. x.com/PBKreviews/status/1753223290913423458?s=20
Hi what about bottom mic ... I accidenly poked it with a sim ejector tool which is thinner than samsungs... should I worry about water resistance capability???
Thanks for the clarification about the speaker mesh... I was worried about that... 😊😊😊
Hi, you will be fine, the mic and filter are seated above the hole and won't be damaged.
👍
Thank you so much for the last comment regarding puncturing the hole next to the sim card. I came here just for that reason. Who would design a hole not meant to be punctured next to a hole needed to be punctured in order to get the sim card out. 🤦
I just Pre-ordered mine... coming from a S10 it will be a nice upgrade.. It's incredible how much tech is built into these phones.
👍
True ...as it needs 5 years or more to actually feel the upgrade when it comes to smartphones !
same here, my S10+ is still holding decently well but it's finally time!
Just got mine and I'm coming from the note 10+
Same. Just got a notification mine will be here Tuesday. Yay.
What a small motherboard it is amazing 🤯
👍
iPhone has very big board compared to any Android 😂
@@simpleinvention1008what’s wrong with that?
The SoC must be extremely highly integrated, no need for any external control chips.
@@simpleinvention1008Apple's SoC are huge. A series are large by mobile standard, M series are even bigger.
You seriously don't get the support needed for this kind of high quality videos , keep going ❤🙌
Thank you :)
Wow. The size of vapor chamber is really big. Awesome.
👍
Yeah but it's stainless steel instead of copper this year/cheaper to manufacture
@@hotsauce6310are you sure its steel and not aluminum?
One plus 12 cooling vapor chamber way alot better ..😂
@@hotsauce6310 google says that steel is better 🤷♂️
As a tech lover who loves repairing my own tech, I am happy Samsung made the S24 ultra the most repairable phone I ever seen. The phone is mostly modular so you can replace the USB-C connector or the sim card reader easily. As someone who knows how hard it is to safely remove iPhone batteries, I am happy the battery on the S24U is very easily to replace. Great job Samsung. Great video PBK.
Thank you
Where do you go to order specific parts?
Here are some tips from a Samsung certified tech.
More even heat is best. Never sit in one spot as that will burn the paint or OLED panel. The frame can take a good amount of heat. If it doesn't come out easy, wait and apply more heat. Patience is an absolute requirement. No point in rushing. We use a heating pad set to 80°C or around 180°F.
Never use metal to remove PCB components from the frame, that always poses a risk to damage. Always use a black disassembly stick to remove those components and disconnecting the cables. On some Samsung phones, they have arrows, lines, or squares for places to put the stick for removing the cables to not knock off surface components.
The bottom speaker and top speaker have removal points indicated by an arrow. You can use blunt metal tweezers for added support.
Removing the front camera can be difficult. Samsung recommends using a SIM tool remover when removing the glue. Just make sure to not bend towards the camera as that can separate the lens and sensor. I use sharp pointed tweezers for grip. Go slow.
If you accidentally touch the cameras, no worries. Take a cotton swab with a tiny amount of 99% isopropyl alcohol and gently swirl around the affected area.
Removing the display from the frame is near impossible not to break. Out of the 300+ S23 Ultra displays removed, not a single one came clean. Even for in-warranty repairs using their heating/disassembly machine.
Under the screen, there are 3 adhesive parts. The outer, inner island, and bottom. The inner island will give the most trouble. As before even heat for long periods for good results.
When removing the adhesive from the back glass, get it heated and grab and pull. Ball up the adhesive and dab the residue off. This also works on the frame.

Jerry sucks
Jerry really isnt that good.
exactly i was waiting for Jerry who just said the oneplus 12s vapour chambere is the biggest ever, MOVE OVER JERRY theres a new DON in town its the S24 ULTRA BABY
I actually searched Jerry and got this....💀☠️
I love the clarity and the work logic of this channel ! Excelent videos !
Thanks!
Wow, I really appreciate the author sacrificing his phone to unlock the S24U. This is an incredible thing! I am really touched. Great, thanks again to the author!👍
You're welcome :)
Good to see that the phone is repairable without major issues, well done sir.
Thank you
You definitely deserve more subscribers man!
Great job I like your videos somuch!
Thanks! glad you enjoy them!
Thank you. Was looking for this. Here you got a subscription for the high quality videos.
Thank you
Wow. Always the first teardown video in the world. Thanks for your videos ❤.
Thanks, you're welcome
Thanks for the exclusive as always! I hope the next one is the S24+!
You're welcome. Not sure yet if it will be the 24 or 24+ first.
It's amazing having seen the genesis of transistor electronics from the 50's all the way to now. In the 60's as a kid I used to take almost everything apart. (Broke a fair share of stuff). Thank overseas for making things as tiny as possible, and getting smaller and smaller. I always appreciate someone showing how to do these procedures correctly. I miss the days when you could unscrew the back vs. using a heat gun or hairdryer to pry things open.
👍
Excellent teardown!!! thank you so much for this video
Glad you liked it!
Good to see someone is ready to make a teardown video ASAP while everyone else takes their sweet time. Great video!
because not a lot of people tear smartphones down or have the funds to buy a smartphone to tear it down.
@harryvuemedia5106 you know who im talking about. The people who normally do teardowns are slow to make videos. And theres a lot of youtubers who dont normally do teardowns who could definitely afford it.
@@texasblaze1016 If youtube isn't their full time job, then of course they're going to take longer to make videos. I mean if their full-time job is youtube and they have a video editor, then pretty sure their videos would have been out the same day as samsung releasing their S24. Not as easy as you think it is as people do have life outside of youtube.
@harryvuemedia5106 are you trying to say YT is PBK's full time job? I doubt that when he only has 136K subscribers and not enough views or videos to pay for one demo. Hes beating jerryrigeverything, ifixit, techrax and multiple other channels who normally show the same content with tens of millions of subscribers at equal quality. So understand im not saying every day random citizens should be picking up an S24 ultra and tear it down but the usual channels who you haven't got any clue about should be jumping on videos like this without a several weeks delay
@@texasblaze1016 dude, what im saying is that everyone has lives outside of youtube. You act like all those people you mentioned just sit at their desk with all the free time in the world. You act like Jerry only does smartphone teardown and nothing else. Oh wait, he has a family too so who the heck is going to watch his kids? You?
Your channel shows a lot of video games so I do wonder if you even have a life outside of it? Like a family? Full time job? Activities? Hobbies? Or anything else? Sheesh, who cares how fast or long it takes someone to release their videos, focus on yourself and stop complaining. People have lives outside of youtube too.
You've always been my hero when it comes to phone disassembly and problem solving at my mobile phone repair workshop

Thanks for this man, got mine today, loving it

Thanks :)
شكرا.ً شكرا.ً جزيلاً لك لقد بذلت جهداً كبيراً وعرفنا ما يحتويه الجهاز من الداخل❤❤❤❤❤❤
You're welcome
Glad to know I didn't tear the microphone seal with my sim ejector tool. Thanks for considering those little details.
No problem :)
I did the same thing with my s23 ultra I just got myself for Christmas. I was freaking out I punched a hole in the microphone assembly. Alot different from an s9+.
Very well done component teardown :) Thank you so much!
You're welcome, and thanks.
When you pulled out the multi layered circuit board i was amazed! I never watch teardowns of phones until i got my s24 ultra because its so light and powerful!
👍
Great video as always! looks like Samsung made some minor improvements to the inner component layout and heat distribution.
But it's not like the S23 had any problems with heat...
Thanks
Its a matter of perspective because my s23 ultra was getting hot out the box until Samsung pushed out some updates.@@daidalos1508
Great video, also thank you for explaining the components.
Thank you, and you're welcome.
Thanks for this viideo, i've been waiting since presentation
No problem!
Наконец-то!!! Я ждал этого видео больше чем презенции Galaxy Unpacked 😅
Спасибо за подробную информацию, но мне не хватило сведений о вибромоторчике.
In did my russian friend 😁👍
You're welcome. Yeah, it was in the speaker housing so I didn't want to break the speaker to show it since I plan on repairing this phone when the screen is available.
шикарное устройство! одно удовольствие его разбирать.
Great to know that the battery isn't so difficult to remove and replace. For anyone that still wants to keep their S24 Ultra for up to 10 years, definitely be worth it to replace the battery after 5 years of usage. As long as Samsung keeps making the same battery size for the next S25, S26, S27 and S28, then we won't have to worry about finding the right battery. You would just have to pay $200 usd for someone to professionally replace that battery.
👍
just trade the phone to samsung after 2 years for s26 preorder and get $1000 for it and use new one
@@physics77guy Most underrated comment of the century
With Samsung batteries, if done at a certified service center the pricing stays the same for years. Just last week the pricing increased across the board for repairs. So batteries went from $87.99 in the US (uBreakiFix) to around $96. Samsung will never use the same parts between generations due to "safety" reasons.
@@physics77guy No, i doubt I'll get $1,000 usd for my used S22 ultra. Could be like $700 which isn't so bad too. But at the same time, I'm going to keep it and use it as my smartphone LIVE camera. I'll just replace the battery and get a S27+.
Thank you for your work❤
Welcome!
Watching this on a s24 ultra titanium grey🙃
👍
First teardown of s24 ultra n first to watch ❤❤
Thanks for the teardown! I have an S24 ultra in yellow and will arrive next week! 👍
You're welcome :)
Bro left no crumbs with this teardown, end to end too. 🔥
😀👍
He just killed the screen
I screamed internally
Yup :(
Dude needs to go to repair school
@@laptech3767 It is not noticeable that the video tries to repair the screen, knowing that it is much better and cheaper to buy the screen and the new chassis .
Nooooooooooooooo
You are absolutely crazy ! I love to see the inside of the phone I just ordered. I hope you will be able to put all parts back together.
👍
You deserve a subscribe. Amazing. The good thing is that you show it in real-time, not time-lapse, and of done things. the only thing that moved quickly was screws which is understandable
Thanks!
It looks like samsung actually used titanium for the frame rather than apples £2.00 worth of Ti on the outside edge.
Awesome❤❤
Thank you for making this awesome video!
You're welcome
I replaced the screen on my note9 last December learning from these guys, now I got my s24 ultra. Thanks again PBK.
You're welcome :)
Puedes probar si la pantala funciona todavía porfa me quede con la curiosidad por que se despego totalmente 😢
No funciona, el dijo que se iba a echar a perder porque era muy difícil de despegar.
Screen doesn't work after. If replacing a broken screen, you have no issues since your replacing it so you won't care to pry it off and damage it further.
That's a small motherboard😮
yup
Been waiting for this video ❤❤❤
👍
Man, you just relieved so much stress. I wasn't paying attention, and I pushed the sim tool into the bottom microphone hole. I'm glad to hear that you can't do any damage from doing that. Phew! Thanks
👍 glad I could help
lol, did samsung really use plastic to bind titanium outer frame to the aluminum inner frame?
thats what apple did too
this whole titanium gimmick really sucked bring back aluminum
@@hachiko2692 nope apple bonded aluminum directly with the titanium outer frame, theres only a little bit of plastic on the bottom where the charging port is. Oh boy does that bond hold well, just happened to have watched Hugh Jeffreys video on a broken iphone restoration. The frame was broken, the only places where it broke was the antenna lines on the plastic part of the frame, that really goes to show how good of a job they have done. Antenna lines are a weak spot even for single-piece aluminum milled frames.
@@hachiko2692 i personally prefer titanium, it feels more premium in the hand due to its matte finish, and i always prefferred matte over glossy finishes.
Great video! saving this for years down the line when i need to change out the charger port or the battery from normal wear
Thanks!
Awesome again thank you ! It's so elegant inside wow....
You're welcome :)
oooh thank you very much!!
I feared having pierced the microphone thanks to your tutorial I am reassured!!!
Wonder when apple will invent the graphene, Samsung and other manufacturers are using it for few years now, so apple will be last - as always, but when? Probably when they will be out of arguments for raising prices.
Great video!
Thanks 👍
@n8n8n8n the battery here is a lithium ion, clearly written on the battery. Why do people insist on spewing garbage from their mouth?
@@RolandKoller90 Read again my comment.
That's amazing! Thanks for this video
You're welcome
Oh jeje, tanks I was worry about to pinch the microphone, thanks for the info =)
Just got mine. Thanks for the video

Amazing tear down.
You are a professional.
It's amazing to see how technology has evolved.
Micro world in our hands.
Now we know why phones are so expensive.
Thank you Samsung!
Thank you
Really??
PBK my favorite teardown channel!
😀👍
Just discovered your channel - very nice work, PBK!
I have an S9 that has bit the dust. Searching, it seems that likely the OLED screen is kaput. It died suddenly. I almost got it working by shining a bright light at the top of the phone, but it didn't last long enough for me to change the screen settings. Spent so much time to see if I could revive it. So, I've decided to order the S24 Ultra and will be arriving in a few hours.
Thank you for putting together this video - was interesting to see what's inside.
Thanks!
Excellent work , masterful !
thanks 👍
Yes!
Amazing guy! I have a S23ULTRA, I've always been curious to know what it's like inside and in this incredible video you show everything, that's an incredible video! Excellent even for sharing! 👏👏💎
Thanks :)
12:21 omg omg you a life saver!!! I accidentally punched the mic instead of the sim card hole... i was so worried! You are a cyber angel!

Amazing, clear video. Thank you
You're welcome
It's master work putting it together
👍
So much brave-hearted man😮
👍
Truly amazing engineering to make all those little parts fit together so compactly! But replacing the battery looks harder than I think it should be, or I could just buy a new phone every 2 years. Oh, I see . . . brilliant of you Samsung!
Thank you, i was looking the video because i was wondering if i damaged the microphone due to putting the sim ejector tool on the mic, i'm glad to know that it's fine.
Thank you very much.
You're welcome :)
Thank you for s24 ultra teardown
You're welcome
Periscope camera: Samsung has put the first lens element in front of the prism, which can increase the size of the front element, which in turn should (in theory) increase (smaller f-number) the maximum aperture of the lens. (Even though this camera has a smaller aperture than Google Pixel 8 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max). Huawei also uses this trick with the P60 Pro / Art periscope camera, but Huawei has a second prism for a larger camera sensor.
Hi!Thank you! 🌞
Welcome!

Great work. Really loving the videos. If I'm gathering correctly, a new screen replacement can be done without special parts (e.g. the S23 Ultra)? I ran into an issue where my US purchased S23 Ultra was unable to be repaired in another country, as the screen also included the antennas and could not be purchased in that country at all. This looks like a significant redesign from previous.
I don't see why the S23 ultra can't be repaired, all the screens are the same, unless you are getting a screen with frame combo, which yeah some frames may or may not have the mmwave antenna. But still you can always order the correct part to replace. Thanks :)
As a Jp, I can only praise your courageous actions🎉
👍
A great video. Samsung has great build quality.
Thank you
Most wanted! I loved it...at least now I know something on my phone better.

You're the GOAT ✅️

Thank you!
What is the name of the main camera sensor?
Quick question: There are reports from Korea by people who used a flashlight to look through the speaker hole, claiming that the speaker mesh deep inside that hole looks to be damaged, uneven, or using low quality materials. When you completely took the phone apart, were you able to see any abnormalities with the bottom speaker unit pertaining to what once was a clearly visible metal mesh from the outside?
Once again, thank you for the detailed assembly. Always a joy to come here whenever a new phone gets released.
I just took it apart and took a look at it. I uploaded pictures to X/Twitter and you can share the link with anyone who is worried about the issue. There is no problem with it. x.com/PBKreviews/status/1753223290913423458?s=20
Hey nice vid, is the power button removable? I mean if i remove it would it still be working the same? I feel like mine got some dust stuck within it so it feels kinda mushy, want to try and remove it to clean
upgraded from Samsung Note 9 to S24 Ultra. So far great experience ... 💖

Which looks like a gray magnesium structural frame is all one piece of titanium or just the outer edge is titanium?
thank you for the video, I see that they changed the place for the microphone, if we mess up when we insert the sim card we won't damage the microphone?

Thanks a lot for such a detailed video in a very short span of time.
Is the bottom speaker module really improved when compared to S23 Ultra?
You're welcome. Not sure since the speaker is enclosed in the same type of plastic housing so didn't break it apart to know if there is a difference in the speaker inside.
Nice informative video ❤
