    That looks a lot like my Allis Chalmers. The woodruff key on mine sheered off. Cool channel, cool content.

    Good clear video and clear explanation of what needs to be done to remove clutch, i didn't know their was room to slide the rod forwards once you loosen the Allen screw, but it's as i feared you have no choice but move the engine forward to get at the clutch. One other guy has a far too short and poorly made video claiming he removed the clutch without moving the engine forward by just unscrewing the Allen screw and moving rod forwards.

    Nice Video! Well explained and as always appreciated! One thing I would add is I would not put that driveshaft back in! There’s gotta be a telescopic style fix or a removable plate or block I add to the flywheel pulleys, and then have my shaft shortened…. We just need to ensure the power gets transferred to the clutch effectively and efficiently!….. I’m in discussion with a gentleman now with a 72’ 154 that won’t move…. But you see he’s playing dumb trying to tell me the clutch is froze “engaged”!!….lmao. Unfortunately for him, he just told me that he’s willing to mislead me to get it sold… which tells me he HAS to sell it. I’m certain he’ll accept $500 aim backing out of his driveway!…lol

    A great tractor for a restore.

    Nice explanation of the process with some good shortcuts. On my 154 on occasion it grinds when I try to put it in gear. I was wondering if that's the clutch brake rather than the clutch itself. Any idea? Thanks.

    I don't have a pedal anymore on my 108 ,it stays down and the tractor clutch seems to pull good still what's wrong? Thoughts

    Great video, and I really appreciate the detail. At the end of this video you mentioned you were going to install power steering on another lowboy. I'm very interested in doing the same on my Cub lo-boy 154. Do you have any videos of the power steering installation?

      In about a month I should be starting that project. I've also got front loader plans in the works.

      @@1D10CRACY can you provide a very high level overview of how you plan to install power steering on your cub lo-boy?

      Do you happen to know if there is a kit available on the market, or does everything have to be done custom?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I will try to be more.detailed. I do not know of a kit, but I'm really familiar with some john deere's and I their power steering should adapt pretty easy.

    My cub broke the flywheel. I haven't repaired it yet. I have all the parts. It looks to me like it may be easier to unbolt the rear end and slide it backwards on the frame. Thoughts?

      @1D10CRACY  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't see why that wouldn't work!

      @@1D10CRACY Thanks for your reply. I'm going to give it a try. I have 2 154 Cubs. The other will be running this weekend I hope.

      My other cub was a bust. Motor is suppossed to be brand new, but it has issues.
      Pulled the other cub in the garage today. I wasn't trying to prove you wrong, but I kept looking at it. 2 1/2 and 2 3/8 bolts in the frame rails, and 2 1/2 bolts underneath. The rearend easily slid backwards in the frame rails and the driveshaft went right in to place. Only took about 20 minutes. Hope this helps somebody else.

      @owentayerle7708 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Was much easier than all that was involved to move the engine forward. Took all but 20 minutes

    It doesn't look as complicated as it does in the manual (cuts back to video) well I have just a few more bolts before I am able to scoot the engine forward (cuts back to video) I noticed that the cross member is hitting the pan, after I remove the bolts I should be able to (cuts back to video) I still don't have the space to remove (before it cuts back I am cutting out).. LoL

      @@1D10CRACY I found it earlier, around the 7 minute mark.. then again I didn't want to take mine completely apart as you had done.. especially I was doing what you were doing.. just this.. ugh not far enough.. so I have the seat off and the center (in between where the the feet sit).. ugh.
      By the way sorry it takes so long to reply back... for some reason my phone randomly let's me know whenever it feels like it.

    Clutch is the weak point on the 154 and 185. The 184 has a true tractor clutch.
