    Damn never had to do what he did with the driveshaft struggle to service that clutch. Must be a noob the driveshaft slide forward enough to allow the clutch n disc replacement on my buddies

      Na, you are just a noob to the model changes. ;). Your buddy had a later model cub 154. The early 154s like in this video you couldn't slide the shaft through the flywheel, making it difficult to change the clutch. International later changed the design to make it easier because of the complaints. I explain this a little bit around the 30 second mark of the video.

    Great video. We need more of them on the Lo-Boys. For example, I’m in need of one explaining how to remove and repair a creeper. Mine went out on my 184. Not a problem for the most part, except when I need to more the perimeter of the pasture that gets quite tall.

    There is also another way, cut the shaft approximately 12 inches past the clutch make an sleeve the same size is to check approximately 6 inches long with a hole drilled through it. For it will slide right over the shaft drill a hole on each side of your sleeve and you can bolted together much simpler scene that done on a TH-cam video

    Interesting. I am considering buying one of these tractors. How does the creeper affect top speed

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When the creeper gear is enabled I believe it cuts the speed in half. I only use it when using the rototiller because low without it is too fast. They seem to be good tractors, keep in mind the pto spins backwards and you have to use compatible implements.

    Love the videos. Very well done and explained. I’m going to look at one for sale that has a 3 pt hitch. I’m wanting a little bush hog or sickle mower. I’m new to them so just wondering if the pto will connect or is the hitch just for lifting things? Can’t really see a pto in the normal place. Is it the shaft the big pulley goes on for the mowing deck?

    • @1D10CRACY
      @1D10CRACY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PTO is offset and not centered. When using the mower deck, its driven off the PTO via belt and a pulley you stick onto the spline of the PTO. Sadly these tractors have a reverse spinning PTO, so you can't use normal PTO driven attachments unless they were designed for the tractor. Cool tractors for sure, but without doing some modifications, implements are limited and hard to find these days. There is lots of information over at the forum on this site! farmallcub.com

    Good video. Why didn't you just make the alignment pins? A technique that I learned over 50 years ago is that steam cleaning a project first saves a lot of time and gives better results. I just use a pressure washer now but it still helps. Good Luck, Rick

      Thanks! I should have just spun some out on the lathe. It was late and I was trying to beat the weather to get a few gardens tilled. Not sure if you noticed but there was also a crack in the frame I welded up on the fly back by the rear end. The plans for this one is to be a project tractor, the frame is going to get reinforced and a front loader will be built. I'll also will be adding power steering from a JD 318. It's a toy. ;)

      @@1D10CRACY Keep a supply of drill rods. They can just be cut to length with a chop saw. They've saved me on several weekend projects.
      I collect and fix up old garden tractors. A guy asked me why, so being a wise ass I told him "because I can't afford Corvettes". He got a real funny look on his face and invited me to go for a ride in his new truck. We went to his house and five bay garage where he showed off is collection of 63 to 67 Corvettes. He wanted to know how I knew about the collection. I didn't but, had been using that wise guy answer to the question for years. We became friends.
      Remember: the difference between men and boys is the size and cost of our toys. Good Luck, Rick

    I'm curious about the Specs. What was the Speed range before, what is it now, why did you install it in the first Place? :)

    • @1D10CRACY

      I think it's a 3:1 gear ratio. Gear 1 was too fast for my 3 point tiller.
