Loud / Noisy Xbox 360 Power Supply Repair

In this video I clean the fan of an Xbox 360 Slim Power supply. If your power supply has become loud, the fan becoming clogged with dust is a common cause.
Please be careful when dismantling electronics as some components can hold a charge even with the unit plugged out.

As the fan gets blocked with dirt it has to spin quicker to cool the power supply.

I have a huge collection of dc motors and computer fans and psu small fans.

Rubber feet didnt come out all way it got split in half, what should i do?

Just remove the rest of the feet with a screw driver or something. The rubber bits are only there to keep noise from vibration down.

I haven't seen one where the screws are not under the little rubber feet, is it an official Microsoft power supply.

It may be glued together then. Power supplies can still be opened when they are glued together but it can be quiet tricky.

Just found out that the 360 power supply has a fan. Turned down the sound to find out what was making an unfimilure buzzing sound and was like WTF! when I discovered it was the power brick.

Yeah they can get quite loud now especially as they get older.
