VHS Player Works After Head Cleaning But Then Loses Picture
มุมมอง 667ปีที่แล้ว
In this video I show one of the most likely causes of a VCR that works fine after cleaning the head put then loses the picture after playing a few tapes. This is often caused by the rubber on the automatic head cleaner breaking down over time. This can cause the cleaner to rub dirt on the newly cleaned heads.

How To Remove Something Stuck Inside PS4 Slim
Is it supposed to be plugged in? Edit: It didnt open when I was following your steps, but once I plugged it in it just opened. Thanks
The PS2 came to me in a dead state (outwardly), well, it seemed to be working, the reset button was broken (just 2 wires were sticking out), untwisted it, the cable from the power-up board was chewed up, there was half a bucket of dust, well, in general, I cleaned everything, put it in order, turned it on, a couple of times (I closed the reset contacts with a screwdriver, because as I already said, there is no button), and the third time I apparently poked it somewhere in the wrong place, in general The set-top box went out completely, even the red light in standby mode does not light up.
I cant get this fucking hinge pin out, i already damaged the casing trying to pry it out
Brilliant
help my phone fell and now i have a black screen all the time
What is the name of the glue
You saved me!! Thank you so much!
My phone screen entirely fell and i cant open it,can i still fix it if taken to workshop
Great tutorial mate. I discovered that both switches work and when both pressed the the laser moves but the disk doesn't spin. I wonder if the motor is the issue? Anyone have any insights?
Thank you so much man
Worked perfectly for me on first try thank you!!!
THATS HOW MY PHONE SCREEN LOOKS LIKE IT KEEPS GLITCHING MY PHONE AND ITS DOING IT NOW HAPPY HALLOWEEN I DON'T GOT THE TOOLS
Thanks man, this saved my but- as I need to print pff charity event posters and hav]d no mney t by a new waste bucket.
Thanks for the comment, glad the video was able to help.
Great guide, thank you so much!!!
what screwdriver is that?
Its a torx screwdriver but I cant remember the exact size.
Bro i am panicking bcz i am 14 and if my momma finds out i am cooked 😭
It's not something you have done which will have caused it. It happens for 2 reasons, sometimes the glue just seems to wear out and needs to be replaced or sometimes more worryingly it happens because the battery has started to swell and pushes the screen off. If the battery has started to swell you would need to stop using the phone as charging it would be dangerous.
Thank you!!!
I did the same thing today but it’s still making in the noise. Perhaps I should’ve added a little grease dammit I don’t have the tools and it was really difficult getting it apart and reassembling it. I used two knives that I ended up breaking and a lot of study hand dammit I already put it back together and it’s still making noise even after I cleaned the dust. 😖
do you have to use that specific glue?
Some people have used super glue and said it worked fine but I wouldn't personally as it's not really the right glue foe the job.
I want to ask if it’s safe to vacuum the unit as opposed to dismantling the unit. I don’t think it’s a difficult job but few things are simple these days apart from me that is.
Sorry I'm not sure what you mean, how would you vacuum it without dismantling it.
@@EasyConsoleFixes I was wondering if it was easier to vacuum it so the dust doesn’t go everywhere, I realise I might have to dismantle it a bit would like to keep things as simple as possible.
@@markomarten I don't think there would be an issue with vacuuming the dust but it's very fine and kind of stains what it gets on, which depending what vacuum you have may ruin the look of it.
@@EasyConsoleFixes ok thanks for that and your input. Most helpful advice.
I just did both of those replacements. My PS2 will still only read the Blue back games.
Have you any way you could check the laser in another console, at least then you can rule out whether the fault is with the laser or the console.
@@EasyConsoleFixes sadly I do not. This was the second laser I ordered, but the first one didn't work at all.
@@lilklevenhagen You would be unlucky to have 2 lasers not work, Did they both arrive with the solder blob you have remove. The way the console plays blue games not silver is a bit strange, normally when a laser is dying the blue discs are the first to stop working. Was the ribbon cable and the connecter for the cable definitely ok.
So the second on that came did not have a solder blob on it and I just looked at the seller. A few of the ones they sold did not work. I ordered a new laser from another seller. The ribbon cable was all beat up but I replaced that as well. Let's hope this new laser works!
@@lilklevenhagen Please let me know if you get it sorted when the new laser arrives, you've been unlucky to get 2 that didn't work.
How long wld it take for the screen to fullly lift from the rest of the phone
@@protocol3419 took mine like 4 days to a week
I have no idea, I only noticed the screen was starting to lift because I took it out of it's cover. I wouldn't like to let it fully lift as I would be afraid the ribbon cable would get damaged.
That laser assembly is missing lithium grease on the laser guide rails. Also it needs some on the little plastic gears. It will wear down without over time.
I did put some grease on the laser assembly, I do on nearly ever console if I'm doing a repair. I just didn't show it in the video.
Was watching a horror movie and it started felling off... Damnn I was half DED
That’s true😊
I'm still young and I accidently dropped my phone in my bucket in my bathroom I tried force restarting it.... I wanted to do rice but I don't know if its good I have no silica gel either! But... It won't turn on this vivo 1807 is my ONLY good phone I'm scared
You probably should have tried to try it out before restarting it, the best thing to do now is try dry it out as best you can before trying to restarting it again.
Mines the hardest I got a tiny magnet stuck
Exact same thing is happening to my phone
Is it possible to do a bottom screen replacement?
The bottom screen is a much easier repair than the top screen. You don't have the same issues of parts being glued together like you do when doing the top.
Does gorilla glue work? Bc i have school in the morning and thats the only type of glue i have on hand now 😭😭
Did you use the gorilla glue after, it should just work but it's not really the right glue for this.
@@EasyConsoleFixes I ended up not using it bc I wasn't sure if it would work or not, and because I fell asleep
heyy did you tho and what happened
@@shweetaa didn't put it on yet, I'll try later today tho
@@bucket_animates0 okk pleaseeeeee update it i really need a solution to my phone n i really cant get another one
does this work with ipad
i don't think my parents are gonna help me with this (buying that glue) because i just told them about it just a bit ago and they said to just put some tape so..
@@IEatAtomicBombs2763 Tape will work as a temporary fix but you need to be careful as if the screen falls out it might damage the ribbon cable that goes to the screen.
What about the sensor, is it safe to put the glue on it?
I wouldn't put glue on any sensor, you just want a thin bead around the very edge, I made sure to stay away from the camera at the top as well.
Hi. Bought a faulty ps2 on ebay with graphical glitches. Successfully restored the image only to pinch the fan wires during reassembling. The ps5 fuse seems to be dead. Can i just bridge the connection instead of searching and waiting on a spare fuse? Thanks.
You can bridge the connection and it will work, it does mean next time something goes wrong you wont have the protection of the fuse. What was the cause of your graphical glitches, it's not something I see very much on these consoles.
@@EasyConsoleFixes thanks for the reply. :) There's a series of chips between the GPU and the CPU (4 in a line on side A) one of them had no continuity so I soldered it over with some 30awg wire. Seemed to have fixed the problem. Tested it extensively before deciding to reassemble. As I did I felt a screw wasn't screwing in as it should and damaged/pinched one of the fan wires. I think that's how the fuse died. Still works without the fan. I hope my explanation makes sense. :/
The metal tab that goes up and down the worm is slightly off on mine and it causes problems when it moves. I've tried to line up the white tab with the bar but it seems I'm unable to do that. I might also need to do this with the cable as well.
That metal tab sometimes needs to be bent a little if its causing problems.
@@EasyConsoleFixes I'll keep that in mind. It seems like it works fine but it moves off the worm
my hero 😍(it worked)
Would you believe that when I saw my phone case didn't fit right anymore, I assumed it was the case getting warped somehow? It's made of rubber. How would that happen? But so I assumed, ordered a new one. Took the old one off, never even looked hard at the phone itself, which has been in the case for ages. Put the new one on. Huh. Still not fitting right. Did the new one come warped? Pressed down, ah there ya go, fits fine now. I look at it later--damn, it's off again! Now I notice the back of the phone is coming loose from the screen. Well, who knew that was a thing? I'd just temporarily reattached it, since there's still glue, just not strong enough anymore. I bought a new case for absolutely no reason at all. Which will almost certainly not work with any phone I buy in future. Wonderful. I really should get a new phone. God, I hate getting a new phone. It's not the money. It's the transition. So many things you have to do before you've got it the way you want. Well. Maybe I'll try this hack. See how it works. My phone is a 2021 Moto G. Which I got in 2022. It's almost brand new! Works great! Most of the time. Anyway. Thanks for the tips.
Just cause you mention the case not fitting, make sure the battery hasn't started to swell pushing the back of the phone away. The battery would then be dangerous to charge. I absolutely agree with you about the transition to a new phone, it's such a pain. I once left a new phone sit in the box for 2 weeks cause I just didn't want to sort everything onto it.
@@EasyConsoleFixes I think that's what happened, yeah. Never had this with any other phone, but honestly, haven't had that many smartphones, and this one lasted a good long while. I hang onto them until something goes fatally wrong, and this qualifies. I'll go get a new one today. Dammit. Thanks for the advice.
How do I go about this when the New 2DS XL has a katsukeity capture card in it?
I never installed one so I'm not sure but my understanding was they are soldered to the main board in the bottom half of the console. Changing the top screen would be the same as the video but you would have some extra connecters in the bottom half to undo.
@@EasyConsoleFixes I see. I definitely will feel I need to have an expert do it, at this point, cause last time I tried repairing something, I needed a new DualShock4. Thank you for telling me, though.
@@ThisIsCSDX This is a tricky repair and I know the consoles with the capture cards aren't cheap. It might be best to pay someone to do it if you're not confident.
@@EasyConsoleFixes Noted. Here's hoping I can find one. Mind you, the capture card feed shows up fine on my PC, but at the same time there are some games that'll require looking at both screens quickly and it's very disorienting trying to look at the screen on my PC and then the touch screen that's further from it than the top screen is. Thank you again, regardless of all that.
bro its glitching am i cooked
Yeah unfortunately if it's glitching it sounds like the ribbon cable to the screen is either damaged or has become loose.
If u would have show to put the antenna back on would’ve been nice
I'm not sure what antenna you mean, can you give me the time in the video of what you are looking at.
TYYYY, I accidentally tried to test what if you put two stickers on a CD and put it into a console...
Thank you!!! My 3 year old shoved FOUR ps2 game discs into my ps4 😭 but your video saved me!
Kids can't seem to help themselves, they are just drawn to put stuff inside PS4's
I guess you could fill the hole with epoxy. Let it dry then drill
Can you do one for the pro version?
Thank you very much. I replaced mine and it works amazing.
Glad the video was able to help, it's great to keep these old consoles running.
@@EasyConsoleFixes onimusha 1-4 never felt so good.
Mine dosent look like that 😮
I have a PS2 slim and I would like to know what are the signs of the console dying .
Usually the first sign of a laser dying is it will have trouble reading or completely stop playing the blue backed discs.
Thanx mate. Great video.
Thanks for the tips,i was about to put a black tape on my phone
Thank you so much for a straightforward and informative video. I am so pleased that your tip has helped so many people, unfortunately my machine seems far too temperamental. I followed your steps - several times - and I also found another video that suggested taking out a little roller in the contacts compartment. I was giving it one last chance and it worked! Hooray! only to send up the message again after printing two sheets. My waste box is only just over a year old and there was hardly any waste toner in it being a home printer. So frustrating! Many thanks for your sharing though, anyway.
That is a shame, I wonder what is causing it not to work. I have had to do this twice more to the same Toner Box as it got full again and it has worked each time. Some people in the comments have said they needed to turn the printer off after resetting the box to get the message to go away.
Very kind of you to reply. I have been a witching on and off between each try with crossed fingers! I am going to look up how to reset printer. Hopefully find another TH-camr to show me. 😊
This seems dangerous to me as fragments of the braid could enter the console and cause damage to electrical components?
That cant really happen as the braid is inside the plastic post the screw goes into and has no entry way into the rest of the console. I do have another video showing how to use a thin cable tie instead of the braid if the braid coming into contact with components is a concern.
