- David vs Goliath at the Bilster Berg. The wee #caterham comes out strong again.
After practicing this track a lot in the sim, I was really looking forward to smashing around it in real life. But the weather seemed to have other plans. None the less, wingman @JohnRae and I made use of the situation to thoroughly test our Caterham R400s' limited-slip differentials. It appears they work a treat.
The track day itself was really well run (thanks pro-racetrack.de!), and with only about 20 cars present, it was usually a pretty clear track. Most of those were #porsche, with the exception of two Ford Mustangs. By the afternoon things were drying out, and we got to have some proper fun chasing a 911 Cup race car around.

A great Caterham mate, I would love to have that car out here in Aussie to drive all of the alpine roads in the summer. The exhaust note is just right. Its great fun on a wet track eh. A nice video with good audio, and NO wind roar in the mic.
This is so awesome! Really fun to just watch these long takes of you actually driving the circuit. Also loved the little punch in with the zoom. Made you feel more a part of it. Thanks for sharing!
I love how you got used to drifting it so quickly. Had a similar experience in a 160 bhp Elise on semi-slicks at Donnington in the wet.
When a car has such delightful balance and clear communications - as anything Lotus-derived invariably does - it is a pleasure to get stuck in with “steering on the throttle” on a wet track, isn’t it? 💪😁
Edge of the seat viewing. Fantastic ✨👌✨
Excellent video, what a superb track!
It’s probably the most enjoyable track I’ve ever driven James. The flow of it is superb!
That looks like an epic track! Doesn’t it just want to make you go back again, hopefully for a full, dry day? Loved the FPV at the end ❤
We both 100% want to go back! It was, is, an utterly fabulous track for Caterhams. Every corner is constant amusement as they take thought, learning and practice. It’s like Cadwell Park on steroids.
nice guys
Your screen speedo needs a bit of attention. Nice piece though
I forgot my high-resolution GPS on this trip Mike 🤦♂️ So it was relying on rubbish data to generate the overlay. Situation was resolved for next track day at Cadwell (in the edit now).
dude, your hand technic is scary
In what way? 😱
@@WhiteRoseDrives It looks spectacular, but somehow also a bit hectic 🤏
I shall take that as a compliment 😂 Thank you 😊 Sometimes you have to control the car's angle with your feet, and hands can't keep up, so best get them out of the way. Other times, yes, you just have to move swiftly. See the YT Short dropped this week, from a drifting event, to see a good example of feet being in control of steering 🙃
Don't forget the Corvette 😉: th-cam.com/video/1rPxSpyd9Uw/w-d-xo.html (Caterham overtaking Corvette in the wet)
🍻
Nice video!
Oh yes, I remember you! It was a bit of a treacherous start to the day for a Corvette wasn’t it? 😬 😂
@@WhiteRoseDrives No kidding. 😆
Thanks to a bit more tire pressure, I did not have to wait for the track to dry this time: th-cam.com/video/z7N4P4NE4Fc/w-d-xo.html (tires not too cold).
Looking forward to some more 🌧 experience , but please not the whole day.
