That looks a good system. Follow the guide then drop to the back. All get a chance at the front. Not like a UK track day. Few laps behind an instructor then let loose on your own. Can have a gulf in speed or equipment. Looks like you enjoyed it
Yeah very well organised! They use the instructors for new comers to help them learn the track, and to prevent crashing. I'm sure you saw how technical the track is, and would be so easy to crash if you don't know the correct lines. He gave us coaching after each session to tell us where we were going wrong, unbelievable ridder! He got the best out of us too. Session 3 I told him I couldn't go any faster, but he still got us lapping 6 to 7 seconds faster each time......brilliant!
Yeah was knackered! Lol he definitely pushed us hard. Just commented by someone else, I told the instructor in session 3 that I couldn't go any faster, but he pushed us, and stilled lapped 6 to 7 seconds faster each time! Lol
Yeah loved it! I'll be going back for more. It's a great track and very well organised, which means I'll probably leave the chaos of the Nürburgring well alone in tue future.
What tyres are you running I've still got the standard angle GT on mine I'm not confident enough to push them to hard on the track but seem fine on the road 👍😊 good save a lot would have binned it
I didn't like the angle GT much either, and were done at 5000km. It's a tire that remained unchanged for a good 4 or 5 years, but I believe the angle GT II is now out, so has been updated.
I got the impression you were concentrating one hell of a lot! Saw you fiddling with the buttons on the left handlebar. Adjusting the traction control, suspension or just the music? 😁
How did you have the bike setup? Sport throttle, sport dampers, preload at riders & luggage or all the way up to to rider and pillion? What's with the lead rider? I get it for the sighting laps but how many sessions did you have to follow for?
Sport mode with sport damping just for rider. I think it's a great way to help people learn on a track day, he gave us coaching after each session, and helps prevent new comers from crashing, although there were a few. I can assure you that none us could have ridden faster than him.
I totally believe that. I'm a regular track dayer and the instructors are always well within their comfort zone when I'm pushing to the limit! Never seen it done from the front. Normally they're behind and give feed back after each session. Looked good. Looking forward to seeing the other sessions :)
Would love to do this one day. I bet it improves the riding scales and a boost to the confidence. Awaiting 3,4 and 5 patiently (ish) . 😂. Good vid 👍 👍 👍.
Spaß pur! Not quite Baron von Grumble stuff but enough for Otto Normalbürger. I've been meaning to ask - is that you who whistles on your intro. It's very ohrwürmig.
nice job 👍, seems you can't work those chickenstrips off. Is it because the bike want to go any lower? Not mocking you, just asking. Oh and one more thing, how do you manage to keep your visor mint the whole time, is there a no flight zone for the bugs around there?! 🙈🤣
Strips got less throughout the day, probably just a confidence thing, but that's what days like these are for, to learn the limits. Bugs where lacking on that day for sure lol
Was the whole day a follow the leader affair? Great to have a play on track and find your feet with the instructor for a bit if so, but I bet by the end of the day you were chomping at the bit to ride at your own pace and cut through the traffic? :-)
Awesome stuff, it is great that you got a lot from it. Was that an Insta360 selfie-stick strapped to your subframe? :-) Does that camera feature in any of the upcoming track vids? :-)
There were also free session groups, which is what you'll know it as, but for the guys like us who'd never ridden it before, we had an instructor. They do it for the newbies to help you learn the track, and to prevent crashes. Six people binned it in the free sessions, so I was happy to have done it as we did. Got faster an faster each session so he did pushed us, and he was definitely quicker than any of us.
Track days are best left to track day bikes! like the guy on the floor will find out, the other problem is if you're not the one doing it, it is quite boring and slow to watch. But at least you stayed rubber side down!
That looks a shed load of fun can’t wait to see the rest 👍👍
It was a tad! Lol stickers went out today Dale👍😜
TheLikeableRider thank you 👍
Hi buddy the stickers arrived today , I’m trying to do a deal with my local dealer for a 1000xr so I’ll save them for the new bike if it happens 😜🤞🤞
@@dalehawkes1594 no worries Dale, hope you get the deal you're after👍😜

Did look tricky in places, very fast and flowing. Very nice video, enjoyed it
Looks like a great day at the track. And not falling down is a huge plus.
BIG SMILES is what we're after
Yeah I had a great ride.....fantastic day out on two wheels!
That’s a great day, nice riding and awesome camera views! 👍 sure must have been exhausted at the end I imagine, that’s a full day. Cheers Shaun!

TheLikeableRider That’s quite a jump in time-It’s amazing how others can unlock our true potential! “Mad skills” unlocked 😎haha Jedi
Can’t beat a bit of track action! Good riding mate.
Great bike for it as well, I’m off to Cadwell in a few weeks then donington can’t wait!

TheLikeableRider never really fancied the nordschleiff because of it being a bit of a free for all.
Looks a lovely track where is it btw
@@motorbiketoureruk yeah it's way too mental for my liking! Ridden it a few times, but can be proper dodgy!

I've the Michelin Road 5 onboard, great tire, does everything!

We took it in turn each lap to ride behind him, to learn the correct racing line, braking points etc. Had a blast and most definitely a lot of fun.
Would love to do this one day.

Good vid 👍 👍 👍.
It's worth doing for sure, we all learned a great deal
Spaß pur! Not quite Baron von Grumble stuff but enough for Otto Normalbürger. I've been meaning to ask - is that you who whistles on your intro. It's very ohrwürmig.
It'll never be Baron😜 no it's not me whistling

Who was on the other GT?
A friend of mine, and his wife was on the R😜

No m8 not at all, he pushed us for sure! Wasnt a point were I thought I could go faster.

I meant the stick poking rearwards by the swingarm and chain, not sure if that was what you meant? Awesomes, looking forward to ya vids mate! :-)

TheLikeableRider well that didn’t work! does it become a bit of a procession?
@@richiektm no not at all! Every lap was a different position, and as I said he definitely pushed us.
Sure it's not for those have are experienced track riders, but for the reasons that I explained. Was a great experience for me😜
Bike sounds great, wonder what caused the slide ?
New undercrackers please 🤣 👍
Looked like a dip in the track and maybe suspension recoil. It didn't look entirely comfortable as the laps warmed up in stint one.
No idea didn't happen again, although the pants suffered for a few laps after that lol

Everyone has to start somewhere, and one can take a a lot away from it, and apply it to street ridding.
@@thelikeablerider8800 Er yes I know I wasn't criticizing just saying it fun for you doing it but not for us watching unless something goes wrong!
