Did the fish for silver trick get fixed? I just spear a ton of fish and got zero silver.

people are so whiny these days. This game has some bugs. All games do when they're this crazily big. I've been waiting for Ubi to tackle Vikings in the creed series for over 10 years. I'm over the moon with what they've created.
Honestly dude? Apart from the bugs, glitches and errors I encounter (which are gonna be fixed so I don't worry about it) I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME. I enjoy it the most from the franchise. They improved a lot of things, deleted the things people didn't like, implemented things people like. Combat feels great, although sometimes my Eivor gets stuck but it's not a big deal. Story is amazing, the ost is fantastic. I play the małe Eivor and all I gotta say, he is such a charismatic and likeable character. He acts natural, he's smart etc. I love the Viking era and norse mythology so I was immediately interested in the game Everyone was bitchy and whiny because vikings? Assassins? Nah bad combo but ubisoft really did a great job doing the game. The side activities feel really engaging, no more "go to this marker and do this" and other boring shit. There's lots of riddle and mystery stuff where you actually need to think for a little or search/read through stuff to solve it. Great job really great job. The ability/skill system is phenomenal, a lot of variety and it's really balance. You can defeat really strong foes if you know how to play and know your equipment. I was around power lvl 120 when i defeated one of the Daughter of Lerion who was power lvl 240 on my second try. No more bullshit from origins and Odyssey. I love it from tip to toe. Can't wait for the dlc they announced. Already played like 53 hours and there's still more to go. I also especially like that they made the game long not by packing it with 5min side quests or a huge map but with different story arcs.

I’m enjoying this game more than Odyssey and Ghost of Tsushima, and LOVED Odyssey! Many of the folks criticizing the game have not even played it.

Nah I usually do that too but I get the guys point - I’ve often spent an hour clearing loot chests in area before doing the main quest there, only to find the main quest brought me to all those areas anyway so I could have saved at least 40 mins if I just followed the quest

I'm sitting at 113 hours right meow. All I've been doing is exploring. I have all armor, expect Thor's. And pretty close to every weapon, there are some weapons locked behind main story missions. Which i get that. The main story is already set in stone. Every mission and where it's located, the events that play out. The main story leads you to certain treasure, which is nice. You can't always expect to fully explore and gather everything before beating the game. I've only secured Repton in my story. And started East Angelia. Ran around Asgard for an hour. Other than that, it's all exploring.
Heres an additional tip, Ive been playing for 34 hours and I would always get frustrated about the fact that my horse/wolf couldnt swim across rivers. Go to a stable and take the riding lessons. This is how to upgrade your steed and increase its stamina for sprinting further distances and giving it the ability to swim. I just found this out while playing and its a huge improvement

You can also quick save. Press down on the D-pad to pull up the menu wheel and press X or Square for playstation.

Had a few crashes. I had to play the London boss fight twice because of a crash and a failed auto-save.
If your fighting an enemy that's a boss that roams the land (helmet icon) make your way to the water and call your long ship they will shoot arrows at the enemy and distract them just be make sure he follows you there I did this on a power level 160 enemy
Excellent tip!!! It worked out even better than expected for me. I lured the guy to the water, horned in my crew, and went up a tree and just watched till they arrowed him to death. So i basically killed a very high level enemy without pressing a button, while drinking some hot chocolate

@@mshk1989 Bro I wish I would've thought of that. I was a power level 41 fighting a Zealot Lvl 90 and took him hand to hand. Spent way too much time trying to kill this guy.
That’s pretty smart, I just fought in close quarters abusing the slow down time dodge ability at low levels.
But that’s CHEATING !!!
Another tip about raids: if your power level is too low for a raid, utilize stealth and assassinate all the enemies and once all hostiles have been eliminated then call in your crew to help force open doors and chest

FWIW when you press left on the D pad to whistle for your horse, keep holding it down until the horse appears and you will automatically jump on it when it arrives.
You don’t have to hold it down just call him and start running in whatever direction and the horse will catch up to you on your side and then just jump on with E. I suppose it might be different on console though
that was in previous games too

The Incendiary powder trap (Ranged ability) can be used to blow up those stone doors, If you don't want to bother looking for the fire jars.
It's also the best ability for Nidhoggr in the new DLC 👌
I've had nothing but fun in Assassins Creed Valhalla! The one thing I wish would be different is the raiding aspect. I wish each stronghold had different weaknesses to exploit. For example maybe one fort you need to use the ram, another fort you may have to sneak in underwater, or maybe you could sneak in with a supply cart

@@BigblackDavis making gear appear as other gear. So say you put a chest piece on but you do not like the look of this one but you like the look of another one. Then you can transmog the chest piece to look like the other one while the other is still there.

Shoot the windows of church's during raids to enter thru there instead of looking for keys or waiting on NPCs to open doors

Plus if it’s high enough, breaking a window with a arrow doesn’t set off the guards. U had to break a window to kill Wigmud without any alerts.

The loot being locked behind main mission content was something I learned the hard way. So many times I was out exploring and trying to get loot from regions I hadn’t gotten to in the story yet. And I gave up on so many of those pieces bc I couldn’t find a way to get to them. Only to find out later that the wall that was blocking me while I was exploring suddenly disappeared when I went to the same location in a story related mission!
Same I was trying to get the loot in the Governors Villa in Lunden for hours. It was by chance I realized that there was a story arc for it haha.
As I was playing I found this out under my own thought process, glad I wasn’t dreaming. Im bummed that you have to play a certain way but it’s overall a win.

Had that same issue trying to get the Sepulcher Axe in Offchurch just like it shows in the video. Looked it up online and discovered I had to go there during the Tilting the Balance quest during the story for the Ledecestre alliance branch

The slow motion when dodging at the right time is everything. You can take Zealots down so quick.
if you have a feast in ravensthorpe, with most of the houses built, you get extra health, damage and armor for a decent time.
At the moment my buff lasts 3 hrs
sprint attack + auto loot makes fish farming with the spear EVEN FASTER

My boat has gotten stuck so many times i simply never travel by it. I also never call in help for any raid, only pansies do that. I can apparently wipe out an entire garrison by myself, but i can't open doors and big chests.

With the Hidden blade offhand tip, you can increase the hidden blade damage by putting skills in assassination damage increasing its use in combat.
Small tip I realized in my 96 hours of playing check every time in the areas you are the store because some could have really good runes like a +8.0 boost on weapons or +14.9 health or blocking recovering health runes so watch the store's
A tip for the River Raids..
Major Tip: if the River Raid red bar (enemy reinforcements) doesn't pass the middle line, you can exit the raid go back to your village, empty the cargo from loot, and come back in on the same river, the Enemy Reinforcement red bar will restart as empty. This way you can finish the whole river quickly without needed to worry about large enemy reinforcements plus you get more cargo loot since you drop it off each time you go back to Ravensthorp...
St George and River clues:
- Each River has 2 pieces of the St.George's armor set located ALWAYS on the large military Fortifications (random each time).
- River Raid clues are ALWAYS located in the monasteries.
- River Dee (the 3rd river) has 2 pieces of the set as well PLUS the SWORD which is located in the Deva Victrix Fortification and it will be shown in the map as a quest marker, you have to fight a champion to get it - sail there first since the battle is huge and you'll need all of the viking's rations
Choke Point forts:
- If there is chain, you have to fight the stronghold to drop the chain.
- If there is a wooden fence, just hit it with your ship, raise your sails, and keep on sailing, no need to fight it
My Raid Order:
1) Raid a farming village in the beginning so everybody gets full on the rations - the Jomsvikings always start with 1 less ration.
2) Aim for the big fortifications first, the more fresh and alive your vikings are the better.
3) After fortifications, refill rations from a farming village.
4) Then raid Monasteries.
5) Finish it off with the smaller Military Camps.
The fishing trick work best by not wear armour at all, to not consume so much stamina when swing your weapons + 2 Spears.

This is true but just RPing as a drunk Viking and winning 200 silver every min or so in village of Walden.

Should have mentioned the “Missile Reversal” skill. You can take out damn near any Zealot because almost all, if not all of them will throw something or shoot something at you when you gain some distance.
Agreed, 'Missile Reversal' is an important skill, you can throw back almost every projectile back to the attacker.
Literally the easiest way to get Excalibur as soon as you’re high enough level to unlock the skill

Only three have to be beaten. There are three who have a stone tablet each. You just have to find the other tablets in caves.

If you 100% an area before doing main quests for that area the enemys will drop rarer stuff that otherwise be in the cests you get double the reward this way
But some areas have missionlocked chests?!
@cloudykai the gear in off church in ledeshire or whatever it's called is locked behind storyline. Unless you can use the dual axe for the barred door which I didn't learn about til after.
Level up your wealth to max in a certain area and some enemies will start dropping ingots. Everything from carbon to tungsten. Depending on the area
@cloudykai you guys must not have done as much exploring. You'll come across quite a few areas that have rooms or buildings locked off for a story mission.
@@justRedDevil Yet there are usually ways into those rooms anyways, typically through a window...or by lighting the roof on fire and jumping through a burned out hole.

@@oompaloompadoompa-de-doo3614 actually I was wrong about the swords being a common weapon. Mainly kings, chieftains, jarls, earls and rulers had swords. Axes were usually more for common folk (farmers, villagers, low-life raiders and that kind of stuff)
@@HA-208 I'm sure the spear was the most common weapon used everywhere in the world, just because of how cheap and easy it was to make.
I was born in Tamworth. It actually has a fine norman castle and was the capital of anglo saxon mercia
When i got to power 70 i reset all my points and focused on revealing the whole skill tree, then i reset again, this helped me make my way to skills i wanted. i'm equally invested in all side of the tree but i tend to favour the bear side more. i use a hammer and the Briton shield which restores health on parry, with a rune that also restores health on parry making boss fights easy, it allowed me to defeat all the zealots at power 150(with reasonable difficulty), making my rations a last case scenario. currently 55 hours in, power level 200, just rescued finished the Suthsexe arc. taking my time, i have also assassinated everyone on the order list that isn't killed during a main mission, so i get thor's cloak that much sooner.
I'm at 216(suppose), idk how, just clearing the map from dots ;D
@@SgtAntyperspirant I mean you inevitably end up with everything (lvl 400) and 90 mastery points (30 in each branch)
You can Also raid, raidable targets like abbey from land, just select the Horn and it will be repaced with 'Start Raid'.

i used to be frustrated with the story bringing me back to areas with loot locked behind those missions, but I've come to appreciate the mystery, I found a locked door, with no key in the area (which there usually is) with a note next to it talking about a manipulative prisoner, which made that door and location more mysterious, I'm looking forward to the mission that takes me back there to discover what's behind the door, and of course to get the loot. I feel it's nice to have a reason to go back to locations, instead of just completing it and never going back there again

@@reis3542 that's a good point, but through trial and error I've found if you can't easily find the secret entrance or key in 5 minutes since they are usually marked with Synin, its probably in the main quest
It's a member of the order of ancients
The problem is you can't always tell if you can get the loot at that time or not; most loot will allow you to get to it outside of main story stuff but there are a few that are 'gated' behind the main story. The problem is it's impossible to know when that is the case, meaning you can spend upwards of 15 minutes looking for a key or a way in somewhere with no way of knowing if you're wasting your time with it. Like I found a massive underground roman ruin in East Anglia (think it's a Hidden Ones bureau) and inside was a statue with 'slots for 3 daggers' but couldn't find the daggers anywhere in the immediate area. Still spent a good 10 minutes back-tracking and angling the camera here and there and using Odin's sight every few steps.
Feasts are very important. Free 3 hour buff.
Great tips! I'm around 300 hrs in, 96% completion. What I've found in addition to everything here is fire also comes in handy for battle. Those carts with the oil pots? Lead tougher enemies when lower lvl toward them, shoot the pots, and watch them eat fire till they're dead. Also, having some trouble early on with a berserker or likewise tough opponent? Climb up a wall, hill, building. Lead them up there. When they reach the top, hit them a couple times and they usually fall off to the ground to their deaths, or at least seriously injured or stunned. Spartan kick them off for a more fun and surefire way for a kill, or shoulder bash.

For AC purists: You can stealth your way through raids. Go into the area, take everyone out sneakily and then call a raid and loot everything.
Except for 1, you'll need to go underground multiple times and you'll get 1shotted by everyone

The "play the story in each area" tip is top notch. Thankfully I figured this out reasonably early on but only after raiding the same monastery three times!
First time viewer of the channel. I loved how (when this video was made) we were at the same amount of hours, around 30. All the cutscenes are fresh in memory and, while enough of the story to make a video about it and have a variety, was not too far in and advanced for people worried about spoilers.
I also loved how the exact problems you pointed out, I was just thinking about while playing. "Cleared this nice encampment got some wealth, walk 5 min to a quest or World Event and it would just lead me right back with everyone dead lolz"

I did the exact same thing with exploring areas and then coming back to them in main story. Best one was in the Leicester Arc, right before the big battle to take Tamworth, I had killed pretty much every solider in the city, spent 15 minutes running around the walls killing everyone. Then went to do the main story and was laughing my way through the cutscenes like "Oh yeah, we need our army to take back the town, it's not like I just killed them all by myself just now...".
Much harder to sneak around killing ppl in forts than AC Odyssey but like having my crew on a full-raid.

Plus I'm one of those weirdos who still remembers the game has "Assassin" in the title. Wish they'd hire some similarly minded weirdos for the dev team tbh...

Really good video. I’ve played a lot of hours in the game but still found this video really helpful. The game doesn’t tell you a lot of this and I wish I knew them at the beginning of the game.

It would be cool when in a boss fight like once you damage the boss half way you get a combat cut scene and you need to hit certain button combination during the cut scene like resident evil 4
Yeah makes me think that guy never played the games before origins, you can one hit KO any target if you catch them by surprise or stealth in most AC games. That's my main gripe with oddyssey and origins, I'm glad Valhalla has some callbacks to the old days.
Fun fact, valhalla adds the option for ttue assassination in the options where you skip the stupid QTE and just assassinate them fully all the time.

acv has got to be one of the best games brought out to date, yes there's bugs and glitches but every game this big has them there first month or so of being released and yes the game still technically doesn't feel like the older games but they have made a huge improvement since syndicate, hopefully the updates and the dlc content just makes it even better 👌

That last tip just summ up my last 19 hrs lol
Equip your lieutenant/jorms viking with 2, 2 Handers... your Jorms scales, so shields are useless and can be easily revived so are essentially immortal, you want them to knock things down and do as much damage as possibel for quicker raids.
I’m about 3 hours in and I’m so glad you told me that last tip. I just spent a gold 2 hours on this random area looting.

Not really a game breaker, but took me about 30 hours into the game to realize that if you stay on a road when riding your horse to the destination you will not lose stamina on the horse.
Way down the "way of the Raven" skill tree. Send projectiles back at enemies, is EPIC!!! Throwing a spear at me, Ha ha.. right back at you. Throwing traps, rocks, and arrows? Nope. And a great way to save arrows. One other tip: special abilities for bow doesn't use arrows just adrenaline.
The rations tip is great thanks for that! It took me a good 10 minutes to get through the pig smell mission. I was two boxes down, went to search for berries and came back to it all back inside.
After watching several other Need To Know vids - Your Video is the one I'm most glad I checked out! Lots of Braggarts and Know-it-Alls out there that give you little to nothing of importance. But HERE it's Refreshing to truly get to learn from your mistakes and/ or mistakes we might repeat. Now THAT'S what a Real Heads Up approach and things worth noting! Thank You for all the tips and tricks with things like; Torches and Flaming Arrows, importance of Dodge-Rolls, Quest will take us there anyway, Dual Wielding and Hidden Blades, and Endless Fish for Silver and Upgrades!!! Your Real Substance vid vs Lots of talk about not much of anything vids elsewhere. ♥♥♥
I absolutely love it, so much to explore. And can take your time with it if you want to. I’m taking my time with it. In 60hrs in and about 48% of the story completed. Real fun, especially on next gen
This is the first video game I’ve ever played console wise and I’m addicted to it, I work 3rd shift from home and only have to take about 10 calls max in a 9 hour shift so I play this my whole shift. Im not great at combat yet but I do really well ability wise and hidden things. Also in Asgard atm.

Thanks for the heads up on the ability to call your longship from a far and call in a raid when not on a ship. When I got killed in battle and revived in the village I died in, but all my Vikings were back in the boat, thought I had to reboard and restart the raid. This definitely seems different then Origins and Odyssey, but I have been a fan of AC since I did my first leap of faith with Altair.
I particularly thank you for calling raid from inside the encampment and following the story and exploring on the go. I'm not really a completionist but I typically tend to go off exploring in free roamers very early.

I needed this thank you! Calling in the raids is one of my favorite things to do. i sneak in Kill the HVT's and then call them in and they have free reign over the place. Its a HUGE help!

When you get to asgard, collect the wealth on the Wolf's Island before completing the main story line. If you don't complete before, the entrance will have an invisible wall in the cliff. If this has already happened to you - use your mount and run towards the blockage, dismount at the invisible wall with your mount facing the entrance and then immediately mount again to get through the blockage, you'll be able to collect the wealth following this.
Is this wealth worth it?

When you decided to get Cyberpunk 2077 first, but then decided to wait for some patches for that game and get AC Valhalla in the meantime!
Totally me ! I'm about to get it. Played cyberpunk for awhile, had no game breaking bugs(xbox one x) but it was kinda boring. Totally going to get this

Same happened to me. Got 30hrs on CP2077, started to play some AC:V instead and now I have 100hrs in AC and will probably have to start CP2077 from the start because I can't remember how to play it properly and have forgotten most of what I've already done. Maybe the game will work properly by the time I get back to playing it 🤷♂️

Also if you start bugging out and your character freezes then opening the wheel and selecting your torch can force you to move again.
I just started playing this game and that "Stick to the main quest" hit me right in the feels. I spent so much time clearing out areas early on only to go back to them for the main quest. And i spent a good 30 minutes in Old Church trying to get that damn piece of gear only to be able to get it once the story took me there.. You even used a clip from there when talking about it. Yea that hit hard...

Thanks for the fish Idea and THANK YOU for pointing out that I should follow the story line for certain loots. I spent over an hour trying to figure out access to a location for a treasure and finally learned that I had to do the main mission. That was super frustrating thinking maybe game makers should put (Must work on main mission for access) or something of that nature. THANKS FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Raids together would be fun with alot more baddies and a bigger area to take. Or even defence stuff. Rip to the old assassin's creed multiplayer
I go to raid spots go in stealth and kill all enemy's then start a raid... Good to do when ur low level alot easier

Yeah, I have 140 hours in, finally finished the game.
I def tried to 100% each area before I started the story arcs in those areas.
All in all, I enjoyed the grind.

1 tip I didn't see you mention was to make sure whichever School of Combat you want to specialize in:
Bear (red)- Sheer Brute
Wolf (blue) - Mixed type
Raven (yellow) - Stealth Ninja
Every piece of equipment belongs to either of the 3 families.
Make sure to get the set bonus skill node asap in each Major Skill Tree as they boost every stat by good amounts and quickly stack up.
This means unlocking the fog of war to the next skill priority so you can rapidly power up your arsenal. Get what you want skill wise but don't hang around unlocking every little skill, beeline for the next Skill Tree hidden by fog for that Set Bonus.
Also each tree specializes in different weapons. I know for sure Bear Tree contains:
2 handed Axes
Hammers
Greatswords
Flails
Heavy Shields
So I think the other two contain:
1 handed Axes
1 handed swords
Spears
Daggers
Bows
Shields
So unlock the skill nodes with the weapon type you constantly use and choose your path and experiment. You can freely respec all skill points without fear of messing up.

Yeah I got into the habit of clearing out the entire area only after the main quest was "finished" with it because it was so frustrating solving all the puzzles and then thinking its just a puzzle you cant solve, then the quest brings you right thru the front door like nothing happened
There's a setting that let's u kill anyone on assassination without the skill except for zealots
As a player since Ac1 I’ve learned that you’re first play through is usually a trial and error process. The 2nd play through is where you actually enjoy the game. After that learning curve it’s much better.
