One of my favorite abilities is fire strike for melee, if you activate it near the enemy it will automatically fill their burn meter half way. If you fill it the rest of the way they get locked in a animation trying to put it out. If you just keep hitting them it won’t run out and if you have all four adrenaline slots if your fighting a zealot by the time they fight back they are near death.
Basically. Have fun! Let loose. I’ve been playing a bit and while I’m still in Norway it feels instantly better than origins and odyssey (I liked those too)
Yeah, I was in Norway for like 6 or so hours. However, I did get every wealth, artifact, and mystery completed in the starting region in Norway. I didn't even attempt to do anything in the really high level region besides the main story mission that took me there.
Odyssey was ok I just didn’t like the whole Demi god feel and plus I’m not up on my Greek mythology so a lot of the famous names from that time, I wasn’t familiar with so I kinda skipped thru some side quest and ? Dialogue cuz I found it boring after a while. Norse mythology is another thing for me and I enjoy these stories more because I know about this history .
It's just really disappointing that Ubisoft clearly doesn't understand what "RPG" means. They've made a few "pseudo-RPG's" now, amd they're fun games, but these are patently not RPG's. They're games with light RPG emulation at best. Ubisoft still hasn't figured out that in a real RPG, things like dialogue options and choices need to have meaningful consequences that differ between each option otherwise it's only an illusion of choice. After all, what is a choice if not an opportunity to affect an outcome?
@@Phoenix-vb7wi that sucks. I hate it whenever a new gen console comes out and me, who doesn't want to buy the new console, can't get any cool new games
Holy shit I’ve played the entire game and only crashed once and I’m on a Xbox one. I don’t know what you people are playing on but I’ve encountered almost no bugs.
Wondering if your on PS5? I am and I agree lots of bugs however Im way too far in to restart. The biggest one for me is that missions get stuck when I need to follow a person, they'll just stop and usually walking away from them makes them walk however I went to go do the included beserker mission and the bear has been standing in the same area for 2 days. I gave up and went to do other things and sort of doubt I'll get to finish that quest. Also the animation and sound for when I am spotted by an enemy is completely broken, it'll just do that randomly, initially causing me to look around for a minute
I’m about 10-15 hours in and I’d say it feels very much like a reskinned Odyssey. (I liked odyssey very much so it isn’t necessarily a bad thing). I love how the world looks and can feel the world building through the unique side quests, however I would say that so far it seems as though there isn’t enough raids to keep up with how I want to upgrade my settlement. Also, I very much like the stealth play style and play on master assassin but I find myself getting spotted through walls, roofs, and brush far too often. The game is not all bad though. I thoroughly enjoy raising, the satisfaction of gaining allies, and watching my settlement grow. I’m glad I know how many skill points I can look forward to getting after watching this. I was a bit worried. I also like how rare weapons are compared to past games. It really feels rewarding when you get new gear this go around.
The best Tip i can give is once you have 90 skill points, or 50 (you’ll have to reset twice) just unlock every skill enough to open the map for the next cluster... go around the whole skills page unlocking the fog on your skills... and then boom... reset and pick the route you want to take. The reset won’t make the skills shadowed out. Once discovered they stay discovered.
Spear and Shield, I absolutely love the combo, you fight like a Spartan. Even have a shield that gives me health on a successful parry, and a spear that increases speed on a dodge. My main frustration with the game is the civilian AI is ridiculous, and even if one of them dies completely by accident through no fault of your own, it still acts as if you're the one who killed them.
i wish i knew it wouldn’t have the same intuitive control feel as odyssey and origins. considering you accidentally climb walls inside houses and you can’t just jump off them.
The controls are definitely clunky in this game. Can’t remember how times have I tried to scan an area while sprinting and it triggers the in game camera. Also some some actions require you to hold a button for a few seconds, and some don’t.
@@revolutionarycomrade Dude Skyrim has been out for nine years. If you aren't bored enough to want to see other games, they probably don't want you here anyways.
That was actually really helpful 👍 you should make a part 2 with things like "you can set you arrows on fire just by putting them in flames, including your torch by placing on the ground" or "you can get through breakable walls with the fire trap arrow ability"

@@Inolongerknowwhoiam let me know if you get Assassins Creed Mirage and let me know if it’s worth it. I heard it’s gonna be less focused on RPG and it’s gonna be more like the Ezio franchise. So hopefully it’s good....
Spear is 100% the best weapon type, especially when you pick up Gungnir in the late game and just demolish fools. The other thing to note is to take level reccomendations with a grain of salt in both directions. You can definitely hold your own in regions with a higher level with you, but some areas (boss fights) will mislead you with their listed level range and then absolutely destroy you. I almost had to quit my playthrough when I got locked in a boss battle I wasn't strong enough for. The game also doesn't tell you how essential some of the skill abilities are, like Brush with Death. Guaranteed I would never have beaten the Daughters of Lerion without it.
Happy to hear that the stealth is fully fleshed out. I saw almost no stealth game in the demos leading up to launch. I got worried that Ubisoft didn’t really implement it effectively. Glad to hear it’s in good shape!

I really appreciate that you can't really go wrong with any play style. They really nailed the just have fun and don't regret sending points and money. The only thing you can do wrong in this game is not spending what they give you.
This is the most recent comment I’ve seen. I’ve been stuck on the St. George’s armor quests and I can’t figure out how to progress in the story. Ive watched many videos but idk what to do
Hey you! You’re finally awake! You were caught trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that imperial ambush same as us and that thief over there.
My favorite part of Valhalla is the "Balance"... In Origins and Odyssey you were capable of defeating ANY enemy, at ANY level (if given enough time), regardless of Difficulty Settings etc... because of the infinite ability to Dodge. And now in Valhalla, with the introduction of the Stamina bar, you can't always do this. That one, seemingly minor, change has made Valhalla so much more balanced and overall (imo) a better game. Gone are the days of taking on 3 or more "Skulls" at once, or an entire town of higher level NPC's. You actually have to THINK about your engagements now; your shots need to be more precise and your attacks, more strategic. I'm REALLY enjoying this game so far.
Had me in the first half.... but the stuff you wrote at the end is so wrong lol. There's no strategy or thinking necessary at all, I run in dual weilding 2h dane axes and I can kill an entire town of guards by myself with ease.
@@buddylee19082 default, run around and kill archers and grunts for adrenaline slots and use the rush n bash skill or whatever on all the gold nameplated guys, the only ones i hate are the skirmishers because the 2h axes are so slow they just dodge every swing, have to parry those ones.
The loot in this game is awful that's the only big issue I've had, killing zealots gives you no special weapons (so far for me) and almost 90% of chests are just resources for upgrades, pretty uninteresting

As much as I love the newer games... I wish Ubisoft would go back to the old play style. Maybe with improved buttons/the better parkour, but like.. the easy press one button and instantly kill the enemy. I grew up playing Assassin’s Creed up until Black Flag, and I miss that style so much.
Me too, i am trying to do all of Norway before I go to England. I’ve only had two glitches up to now , my boat got stuck near one of the islands and the other glitch happened a village when I leaped over a wall and my character suddenly kept going higher and higher up till eventually I then fell back to earth and didn’t lose no life.
I’ve reached England and just done the first raid on a monastery. Haven’t completed all of Norway as I encountered a game breaking glitch which forced me to to reload an earlier save from the previous day. The glitch happened after killing the missing Dengr Erik in the cave and you are supposed to talk to him before he dies but the prompt press Y to speak didn’t come up. After that I couldn’t talk to anyone in the game so were unable to talk to Sigurd at the docks to go to England. It meant that I was stuck in Norway and couldn’t do anything else like the remaining mysteries. In the end I’ve left killing Erik and did some other mysteries to get back to where I was and then just went to England.
Not sure if the glitch was caused because when I first found him in the cave I talked to him and then when he started fighting I ran back out of the cave and went back after I upgraded my weapons and armour. I was going to try again now I’m in England just to see if it glitches again.

if you are new, try to start at Origins coz AC started differently from there,, if you want to feel the original AC gameplay try AC IV Black Flag, but if you have extra money and plenty of time you may try previous AC's before Black Flag... sure you will be hooked up with the AC series like me hahahaha..

Same, even though I didn’t like odyssey too much.

@@Ripskiis I play on console and have encountered literally no serious glitches.
Something I like is how you find new attacks and abilities in the open world. It reminds me of God of War’s runic attacks.

Doesn’t habe any impact on the gameplay tho
One of many things I love its the fact they brought back skills from previous games so awesome
I mean the only thing annoying about valhalla is the parkour where you literally cant get up on ladders without losing your mind on it
I'm even more excited to get home and try it! I downloaded last night and it took till this morning to install. Very helpful tips cheers Michael!
i wish i knew it wouldn’t have the same intuitive control feel as odyssey and origins. considering you accidentally climb walls inside houses and you can’t just jump off them.
The controls are definitely clunky in this game. Can’t remember how times have I tried to scan an area while sprinting and it triggers the in game camera. Also some some actions require you to hold a button for a few seconds, and some don’t.
The Flail and the Axe is a crazy combo... the flail in your special hand blocks most attacks incoming and drops the opponent allowing you to stomp...
This is why I love this channel. Actual competent gameplay.

Fantastic tips! Definitely going to keep some of these in mind while I'm playing.

Oh ya, they did stealth so right! They talked about not fearing going to higher level areas but I guess that's on normal. The first tip I got was set combat higher to brutal. This gives more weight to exploring and being caught when using stealth if you've decided to try and get loot from higher areas. You can also stealth kill much higher enemies with that timed assassination strike. It makes it ideal to use in those higher areas and If you're hardcore into stealth, they even have a setting to adjust how vigilant enemies are.
The weapons tip is really nice. Spears are amazing to use in this game, but, I've found way more fun using dual daggers and dual broadswords.

Hey you! You’re finally awake! You were caught trying to cross the border right? Walked right into that imperial ambush same as us and that thief over there.
Victory!!! Or Sovngarde!!!
@@jasonthomas1539 I haven't gotten the dual wielding ability yet. What difficulty are you playing on though?

Me too, i am trying to do all of Norway before I go to England. I’ve only had two glitches up to now , my boat got stuck near one of the islands and the other glitch happened a village when I leaped over a wall and my character suddenly kept going higher and higher up till eventually I then fell back to earth and didn’t lose no life.
Where are you at now
I’ve reached England and just done the first raid on a monastery.
I just reached England, only thing I did not do yet was fight the guy in the cave.
Not sure if the glitch was caused because when I first found him in the cave I talked to him and then when he started fighting I ran back out of the cave and went back after I upgraded my weapons and armour. I was going to try again now I’m in England just to see if it glitches again.
